Hi, guys. Natalie, Jill here. Welcome back to Happy, healthy and Fit. And I've got my friend Santa. You know him very well. And we're not competing with his belly this December. No competing with Santa belly. He's got the belly. Sorry, Santa. You do. We're not gonna get it. And I'm gonna give you some tips to show you how to avoid that holiday weight gain that we all struggle with every December. And stay tuned till the end of this video because I'm gonna share an opportunity for a free challenge to avoid that weight gain. We want that, right? So I'm going to share some tips with you. Remember, the goal is avoid the Santa belly. Bye, Santa. My first tip that I want to share with you is to make sure before you go to any party that you eat something first. Sounds obvious, right? But so many people don't do that because they think, well, there's going to be so much food, I've got to save room for the food there. But that's a mistake that we make before we even get there because then we go to the party totally hungry and. And what happens? All of those rules go out the window and we start grabbing everything, and that's when we regret it later. So it's not about having the perfect snack or the perfect meal and having this total control while you're there, but just have something healthy so you're not starving when you get to the party. And all of a sudden those options become less tempting. Kind of like when you go to the grocery store hungry. If you go there hungry, you end up with a lot more in your cart than you planned on. The other tip I want to share is make sure you always have water with you, especially at the party, for a couple reasons. One, the more water you're drinking, the more hydrated you are and the less you're going to feel hungry. It also distracts your hands so you're not feeling like you've got to go grab that cocktail or that high calorie snack or appetizer that looks so good. So hold that water. And the more you're drinking throughout, the less hungry you're actually going to be. So you will eat less overall. So water is your friend. And. And if you're feeling uncomfortable and you're thinking, well, everyone has these fancy cocktails, even though I don't really want one. Just put your water in a cocktail drink glass, throw a lime and a lemon in it, maybe even a cherry. No one will know the difference. I swear they won't know the difference. I Do it all the time. The next tip I'm going to share with you is don't be that person that is circling around the parking lot on your holiday shopping looking for that space so far up front. Don't be that person. Park in the back. Use that as your opportunity. Get those extra steps in. Listen, every step counts. So the more you're walking, especially while doing that holiday shopping, the more calories you're gonna burn, the more active you're being. So don't sit in your car driving for that close space. Park far in the back and walk. And also on that note, carry those bags. A lot of people will get their bags, go back to their car, drop them off. And while you're carrying bags, it's kind of like you're carrying extra weight around. You're gonna get that extra calorie burn. Think about it. You've got shopping bags in your hands, you're working. Those arms might sound stupid, but it works. And my final tip is have a plan. Have a workout plan that you can fit into the busy holiday schedule. And I've got it for you. I've done all the thinking for you. So down below you're going to see a link. This is totally free.
