Christmas, how are you? Hope everybody's having a great holiday day. Whether you celebrate Christmas or you're just taking a day off.
Or Hanukkah.
Well, Hanukkah's over.
Oh. Or Kwanzaa. We gotta get all the holidays.
You don't have the holidays straight. Hey, guys, who's on? I wanted to jump on and say hi. Cause I have an announcement about tomorrow. And I also. We were just talking about something as we are both practicing our craziness. I'm gonna share what that was. And I thought we need to share what it is that we're doing because we've been each making a decision to do something every single day, even when we don't feel like it. And it's made a big difference in our lives and it's making a big difference towards our goals. So I wanted to jump on and share. So, hi, for those of you who don't know, this is Brooks. Some of you see him in my Instagram stories and on my posts, but this is my husband, Brooks. For those of you who don't know, and for those of you new to my page, I'm Natalie Jill. I'm a licensed master sports nutritionist and functional fitness trainer. And what I do is I kill fat for a living. Not just the fat on our bodies, but that fat. Those false assumed truth in our heads. So that's what I do. And I focus. Although we can help all kinds of people, what I focus on is women and women that are interested in aging in reverse. So women in their 40s, their 50s, 60s, and beyond that are focused on aging in reverse and leveling up and getting radical results in all areas of their life. That's what I'm focused on. Not with that mask on, you can't. My daughter wanted to say hi, but she's got a creepy mask on right now. So I said face mask. Okay, come show me your creepy. You can come show them your creepy face. This is my daughter, Penelope, and she wants to show you her creepy face mask. That is creepy face.
That's creepy.
Let's see if you actually don't take it off. And it's gonna be on for like 20 minutes. Okay? Okay. Go. Be a good face mask for 20 minutes.
She's 11. Gotta erase the years.
Yeah, that's right. She's aging out. Reverse 2.5. Sorry. Then I'm breaking out right now.
Anyways, Merry Christmas. I hope you guys are having a great day. I wanted to jump on because both of us are working on two random goals. We're always working on a lot of goals, but I'm tell you about what each of them because they have nothing to do with our business or our financial goals or like what we do for work. They're just personal goals. And you know, as you're getting into 2019 and thinking of, you know, how could you get radical results and up level all areas of your life, it's not just the financial, the business goals, or the relationship goals, it's also yourself. Like, how can you yourself get better? And I don't mean just physically, but like, how can you get better at something you've always wanted to do? So I'm going to share with you two things that we both always wanted to do and then what we've been doing. You ready? You want to go first?
Okay.
Mine is, aside from all my business and all those other goals, I decided that at 47 years old, I've constantly said I want to be able to do the splits. I don't know why I always wanted to be able to do the splits, but I've had every reason. Like, I'm not flexible. I never practice. Maybe people are just born with it.
I.
But I would scroll social media and see someone doing the splits and I thought, I want to learn how to do the splits. So I decided that I need to treat that the way I would treat a business goal and the way that I would treat clients with tremendous goals to level up their life. And that was that I would have to decide that it was possible. I had to share that I was going to do it. I'd have to put a deadline on it. Because if we don't have fast approaching deadlines, we don't work on it. And then the big thing that we talked a lot about is I have to practice and do it even when I don't feel like it, which is most of the time, by the way. And I share this because think about any goal you've ever had that you haven't accomplished yet. Sometimes all that's in the gap is literally the I don't feel like it. The I don't feel like practicing it. I mean, who knows that? Can you relate to that? Like, I'm going to, I want to do this, but I just don't feel like it. So I had to literally take that out of the equation and say I'm not gonna care about how I feel and if I don't feel like it, I'm going to do it anyways. Okay. And then I want you to share what you decided. Cause this is really random. You think that's random? This is, like, crazy random. What did you decide you wanted to do?
So I've always had the story since I was a kid that I have athletic talent and not musical talent or anything like that. In fact, my own wife and stepdaughter gave me the title of the world's worst singer.
Like, the world's worst.
And I knew nothing. But, you know, for athletics. I started swimming competitively, you know, when I was six. And I did it for five hours a day for 15, 16 years. I qualified for Olympic trials. I worked with Michael Phelps as coach. I had all these great results, but it's not like somebody just pushed me in the pool and all of a sudden like, oh, he's an amazing swimmer. And so I saw that movie A Star Is Born, and it's a great movie. You should definitely go see it. But what really, really intrigued me was, was Bradley Cooper, he's not a musician, had, quote unquote, no musical talent. But basically, I mean, it was a four year process. He also directed that movie, but they filmed it in 42 days. But he learned. He played all his own guitar, did all his own singing, did everything for that movie. He's like 40 years old. So I looked back, I was like, wow. So he basically just busted his butt hardcore on the music and the voice for over two years to be able to do that. And so I was like, you know, it's something I've always wanted to be able to do. Even as a kid, I'd see somebody, like, playing the guitar and singing, you know, and I couldn't even play the recorder in, like, second grade. So I just further, you know, fed into my story. I have new musical talent. My wife said, like, you suck at singing. So basically I just kind of made a joke out of stuff.
So you would give an excuse and say it, and then we'd validate it, which is what we do in life. Like, I could say, I can't learn to do the splits, or you could say, I can't do whatever it is. And then we find people to validate those excuses. So then we never really go for it.
And the movie is A Star Is Born. I think it just left the theaters, but it's coming out on video with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. So it was like the first time that he was singing and the first time that she was acting. And really, if you go research it, I mean, just fascinating how he enrolled the people to be in the movie for the right, you know, to get Lady Gaga to get Sam Elliott, who was obviously modeling his voice after. I mean, there's so many. It's really amazing how that movie came together, but really what landed for me was just. It was just work and effort. I mean, he worked four hours a day for a year to lower his voice one octave, you know, so just. I mean, he was doing this eight to ten hours a day. Between the guitar and learning all stuff. I mean, I knew nothing. Like, music was like Mandarin Chinese.
But here's the cool thing. So not only did he research that, he decided. He said to me, I'm gonna learn to sing and play the guitar now. I'm not gonna lie. I laughed first. I did. I laughed, like, ha, ha. But he said, no, I'm gonna learn. So he declared it, right? He decided, made a decision. He declared, I'm gonna learn to do this. And he gave himself a timely, risky goal. He said, not only am I going to learn this, but I'm going to actually, like, go on stage and perform. And I was like, what? But he said it. And he. So every single day, not only did he hire an instructor has he been practicing, but, like, every day, whether he feels like it or not, he's been practicing the guitar and singing, and he's gotten. I can't say he's bad anymore.
I'm definitely not. You're not bad. I'm like, the second worst singer in the world.
No, you're like. Actually, the guitar. He's come a long way. But here's the thing that. The crazy thing is that what we really both realize with this is literally anything you can decide you want, anything that you decide you want. It's just taking that consistency and practicing it and going forward anyway, even when you don't feel like it. Because if we listen to our feelings, think about how many things won't happen because we don't feel like it. That's constant. I mean, I definitely don't feel like working on those splits every day. I definitely. I love you guys. I didn't really feel like doing Facebook Live right now, but I committed that I'm doing Facebook Lives every day right now because I have a reason. I'm doing them and I want to, and I'm determined and I'm committed. So it's about ignoring those feelings sometimes and doing it anyways. And I know you're. As much as you're into the musical stuff, I know that there's days that you just don't feel like it, but you do it anyway.
Yeah. No matter what. I mean, if it's a crazy busy day, even if it's just sitting down and doing it. And I even bought like a little practice prep board. So when I'm in the car or movie or whatever, like just still practicing, I got finger. I mean, so it's just I'm always taking actions. And even like my guitar instructor who right now comes once a week, he's just like, you know, you're making great progress. I mean, I went out and got, you know, guitar voice. I mean, I bought a piano to help. I mean, I knew nothing.
Nothing, like really nothing.
Like do, re, mi, fa, so latito, like all sounded the same to me. I couldn't read music. I'm still working on it, but I mean, I knew literally nothing about anything.
Yes. And then here's the other important thing is don't let people tell you why you can't do something, because then they enroll you in that and then you don't. And I'll tell you an example with both of us, I mean, he told me that he was going to learn this and I kind of laughed and did, I mean, I actually didn't kind of laugh. I laughed. I laughed. And if he had listened to that, then that would have stopped him. And even with my splits example, I told him I was going to do it within three months. And he started with, you researched it. Is it possible? And I got mad at him, see, right now. And so our discussion was that you can't let anybody else tell you why something can't be done because there's always somebody that has done it and you've got to go for it anyway. Because if you tell yourself reasons why something can happen, then when you don't feel like it, you don't practice. It's true.
Totally. But in the end it's just all about consistency. Nobody ever got good at anything, watching it or thinking about it without practice.
Yeah.
You know that you can have all the talent in the world, but at some point talent plus work will make you great talent. Yeah, doesn't do anything. And I saw plenty of guys that swam that had great talent, but they didn't put the work in.
And.
Yeah, and Brayden, you said do it anyways, but inner voice tell you otherwise. How do you push do it? Yeah, so that's a great question. So with me, and then I want you to answer me too. When I don't feel like it, I literally just say, I hear you, I hear what you're telling me and I'm doing it anyway. And I just ignore it and I make. I don't negotiate. I don't negotiate like, well, maybe just not today. I don't negotiate myself. I say I'm doing it anyway. Now, what could shift on, that is, I may not go as long as I wanted. I may not do it, you know, for as hard as I wanted. But I say I'm doing it anyway. And I'm not going to listen to that voice. Because if we just listen to feelings, think about how many times things won't get done. I mean, how many of you are hitting snooze button every morning? How many of you are hitting snooze button every morning? How many of you don't want to get out of bed because it's cold and you're cozy in your bed? How many of you don't want to ask for the next thing? How many of you don't want? Because if we listen to those feelings all the time, we're not going to move forward. So, seriously, you gotta, like, get over the feelings, right? You gotta get over the feelings. Doesn't always have to feel good. So. Good question there.
Let's see.
Hi, guys. I'm looking at both of you here on Instagram and Facebook. See? Hi, Nina. This is the attitude that gets results. You plug away a little every day. Yes, absolutely, Nina. Every day. Every day it's just a little bit. If you guys put one step in front of the other every single day, you're gonna get somewhere.
Nobody's born just knowing how their fingers are gonna work a guitar. But there's times, like, I'll be working on something and I'm literally like a monkey doing that thing with a football where I can't figure it out. And then I go to bed and I wake up the next day, and it's like, holy cow, I couldn't do this last night. But then you start picking it up the next day, and it's just. It's really just a consistency. I'm saying, wow, my transitions are getting faster. I mean, at first, just basic, like, one at a time. I was doing, like 60 beats per minute. Now I'm at, like 120. And I'm being consistent with it. So it just. It's just practice because that's with anything, whether it was swimming or guitar or singing, whatever it is, just doing consistently.
So what I want you to ask yourself is, what is something that you want big for 2019? And in different areas, like, what do you want for your business? What is a personal goal? That would be a stretch for you. What would you want in a relationship? What are some goals that you want? Really start diving in and thinking about that because tomorrow at 4 o' clock Pacific time, I'm gonna put the link here for you so you've got it at 4 o' clock Pacific time. And if someone's on Instagram, if one of you could type it, that would be super helpful because I'm taking it on Facebook. I don't think I can do it.
While I'm doing it there. But if you type in Natalie Jill class.com it's www. Natalie Jill class calm. I'm holding a free virtual class, which means you can participate from anywhere in the world. So grab your spot. It's totally free. You just go to www.nataliejillclass.com sign up. I'm going to send you an email right away with how to get on this call and I'm going to be answering all of your questions on it. But think through, what is it that I'd want to achieve personal goals physically, like, what do I want to look like, how do I want to feel? What kind of money do I want to make? What are the goals that I want to go for? And I'm going to teach you a method that's going to really work for you. And we've been practicing a lot of this on ourselves, definitely in business, definitely in our lives. I launched a podcast this last year that's doing really well if you don't know if you've been hiding under a rock, because I talk about it all the time. Brooks launched another business this year. We've done a lot of things where we've achieved the success and now we've been really testing it on our personal, like, what do we want to do that we thought we could never do? Like him with the singing, me with the splits, things like that. So I hope you'll jump on tomorrow. I would love to see you. All you do is go to that link sign up and we'll make sure to send you an email right away. And then I want to take. If you guys have any questions, I'll take a few questions before we jump off, get back to Christmas.

Oh, look at that. Nina says. I love that Nina. Ralph Stanley says, you know how you learn how to sing? You sing?
Yes, and I do it a lot in the car by myself.
And in front of us sometimes, too. Caroline signed up. Yay, Caroline. I'll see you tomorrow. I'm excited to be on there with you awesome guys. All right, well, have a great rest of your Christmas. Merry Christmas, and have a great night. And I can't wait to see you guys tomorrow on my class. Bye.
