Natalie Jill explains why people use cold plunges despite the shock of freezing water. The benefits include faster metabolism, reduced inflammation and pain from injuries, and potential anti-aging effects. A dedicated plunge unit with temperature control beats a bucket of ice.

Time to do it. Do what? The cold plunge.
I'm going in. I'm going in now. I'm not gonna lie. I do not love going in.
And every time it's a fight.
What I love is how I feel after. But it's never easy to get in this thing, especially where my husband sets it at 49 degrees. You're literally gonna have to remind me of the benefits when I'm in it.
Because every time I get it, I'm like, why am I doing this?
But I'm gonna tell you this, there's so many benefits. And I'll tell you the main ones. The main reason I wanted to have a whole bunch. Number one, it speeds up your metab and any especially female that wants to be in fat burning mode, we want to speed up our metabolism. That is key. Number two, pain and inflammation. It completely releases that. It's amazing how good you'll feel when you get out. Three, I think it totally helps with anti aging. It's a total biohacker for a lot of reasons. One, your skin. You notice a difference in your skin and collagen production and how it looks and how it feels.
But the best part truly is pain and inflammation. And honestly, with all my injuries, especially my disc rupture.
I can do all the exercises in the world. I can eat anti inflammatory. It helps a lot, but this completely relieves it. Okay, just, just, just wait right here. Okay.
How was it? Okay, I'm not gonna l. It sucks when you're in there. It sucks when you're in there, but.
When you get out, it feels amazing.
Actually, I say it sucks when you're in there. It's the first minute that sucks. After. You can ease into the first minute. A few seconds after that, it honestly starts to change and you can relax in.
But when you get out, you feel incredible.
Okay. So the first time I ever did a cold plunge was actually in Costa Rica and it was literally a bucket of ice. The problem with that is you constantly.
Have to fill it and it's not going to clean itself. You constantly have to replace the water so you get bacteria and junk and you can't regulate the temperature.
So with plunge, which I love this one already, it has a filter that works so you can fill it with water. The filter is running, it's not bad for you, and you don't have to.
Worry about constantly putting new ice and water in it.
