Speaker A landed his first mentor through an Upwork client, Greg Barry of Hustle Island, who taught him low-ticket sales funnels and Facebook ads. When Greg suggested spending $1,600 a day on ads, A froze, confronting money blocks rooted in his upbringing.
So how long did it take you to go from that to really start taking ads and marketing seriously?
I found my first mentor, who was one of my clients on upwork. I did some stuff on upwork to make some side money. And I met this guy, Greg Barry, and he ran this brand called Hustle Island. It was actually really sick. Like, we had a really good low ticket funnel, and that's where I learned a lot about ads and low ticket funnels and downsells and upsells and Facebook and all this jazz. And that's where I learned most of my stuff from Greg. And Greg.
For
him, with
him. Yeah.
And that's where I also had money blocks. And we would be on calls. He's like, yeah, let's raise the Facebook budget to 1600 bucks. And I was like, oh, a month? He's like, no, a day. And I was like, what the hell is $600? A. It was his money. Yeah. I was like, God damn, bro. That's a lot of money. That's because the way you grew up, though, I mean, sixteen
hundred dollars to your parents.
Well, that was the difference between us eating food two weeks behind and not eating at all. Yeah.
