Asset Integrity Management AIM Engineering Challenges and Way of Working WOW

VTCI/TCE manages aging infrastructure that has outlived its design life using drones, 3D laser scanning, and digital twins to capture missing data. Their six-phase process creates risk registers, eliminates hazardous deposits, and generates colour-coded models with full documentation. The company has logged 70,000 to 80,000 man-hours of asset integrity work.

Hello everyone, in this video VTCI will be taking you through the engineering challenges, strategies, and way of working to tide over the same in asset integrity management projects. TCE have been rendering AIM services to its clients for age-old civil, structural, and mechanical assets surpassing its design life since the last 4 years and is still moving strong ahead. TC not only meets customers' expectations of sustained productivity but also satisfies safety and environmental concerns. The major challenges during conceptualization of retrofitting schemes of age-old assets include lack of as-built data, inaccessible sites, retrofit rehabilitation of plants under operation, and providing customized solutions to project-specific requirements. Achieving standardized StageGate concept along with benchmark quality standards and on-time delivery. Strategic Way of Working uses Industry 4.0 guided tools such as drone survey, 3D laser scan to capture as-built data to create digital model in order to incorporate project-specific customized risk-free, cost-economic, sustainable solutions in line with plant operation. Operational requirements and hand it over to client and contractor for seamless execution. Standardized WOW can be classified into 6 phases, starting from structured inspection regime, creation of risk register, detection and elimination of hazardous deposits, creation of digital twins through extensive use of technology, providing customized engineering solutions, color coding of engineered models, comprehensive documentation capturing history, evolution of assets, construction drawings, bill of materials, cost, construction enabler details, maintenance regime, safety norms, and execution schedule. The WOW framework includes on-site/off-site working model, stage-gate approach of engineering, continuous client-consultant interaction, through structured governance. Through this framework, a digital landscape is created by adoption of digitization and digitalization. The novelty of this framework lies in the packaging philosophy of the various work processes, technologies for creation, for standard work methodologies, phase-wise execution planning in compliance to plant operational requirements, ensuring quality and uniformity, for retrofitting risk-prone assets with time and cost optimization across the plants. The adaptability quotient of this framework is very high as it can be easily customized to suit project-specific challenges. TCE has vast experience of around 70,000 to 80,000 man-hours in executing AIM projects with further jobs in pipeline and remaking the plants contributing to sustainability and a green world. This is all about the strategic way of working in asset integrity management overcoming the inherent challenges. Thank you.
