Don't make permanent decisions when you're emotional. Wait 24 hours, gather evidence, and talk to people you trust before committing to something you can't undo.

Never make a permanent decision based on temporary feelings. It's really easy to get caught up in everything that's going on, compare yourself to someone else, think about a really shiny object that you want to go after, and make a decision that you can't necessarily go back on. I've learned it the hard way, and I'm sure many of you have as well, that if you make a decision, a permanent decision, from a temporary feeling or from a temporary idea, that decision you're not going to be happy with. So I always like to think over everything I'm going to do at least 24 hours If I still want to do it, there's still evidence to back up that I should do this thing, and I've maybe consulted with some people, then I go ahead and do it. I never will make a decision, a permanent decision, on temporary feelings. Try not to do the same either.
