She is the co-founder of PeekCorp, which makes life for people easier and better using technology. She is also the Chief Marketing Officer for PeekCorp and is a marketing genius. She has proven records of getting millions of users for her products. Welcome, Riya. Thank you so much for coming to the program today.
Thank you, ma'am. It's great to be here today.
So, Riya, tell us a little about what Peekaboo does.
Oh yes, in Peekaboo, we, we make tech products to make people's life more easier with technology, and we acquired around 57 million users till now, and we We make products in different segments, different fields to help people for their different life aspects.
Aspects, all right, great. So what kind of problems does P Corp solve for the customers?
Okay, one of our products is Shub Kalender, which is a devotional app. Through this, we connect people with God, and we have connected around 26 million people with God through our app. And we have two cameras, which are for influencers and photographers, and through that, we helped around 15 million people for, yeah, for for their job. And, uh, and we, we also made a video conferencing app named Milan Setu, and through that we also helped around 6 to 7 lakh people. And we have some more like this in our portfolio.
Wow, superb! So what is the big vision for PeakCorp, Priya?
Okay, so We want to create impact on billions of people's lives through PickUp and through technology and AI.
Yeah, wow, superb, superb. So, uh, Ria, I mean, you have been working— you're such at a young age and already doing such a big business, uh, you know, how do you handle the pressure?
Yeah, it's, uh, it's lots of pressure here, so It's very difficult sometimes to handle the pressure, but I manage by talking to myself. I use the technique of self-talk to handle pressure, and sometimes I talk to my family and mentors like you.
Yes, yes, yes, you were there at the Accelerator program, and it was really a pleasure to have you, and the kind of questions that you asked, it I mean, added value to so many people. But again, coming back to when you say that you use the technique of self-talk, what exactly does that mean? What is there, a step-by-step method that you follow that, you know, the audience can also follow and make things better for themselves?
Yeah, yeah, actually there is not a fixed method, but I found it myself. Means I personally, I try to memorize the things. If someday I felt low or face some problems, then I try to memorize all the things that happened since last year, from last few days or few months. Then I gathered all the things, then I try to analyze the things. And, uh, and try to find out the solution of, of everything, uh, means one by one I take each problem and then try to find out the solution by talking to myself only.
I sometimes write down all the problems at one place and then you look at each problem. Is that the process?
Yeah, something like, yeah, this writing helps.
Journaling really, really helps because it brings your focus you know, from the thoughts in your mind to thoughts on paper, and then it's easier to process it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's really helped. Yeah, yeah.
I think everyone who's watching this show, please understand how powerful journaling is. And every time that you feel overwhelmed, please write it down. Write it down. Writing it down will give you a lot of clarity, a lot of clarity. I mean, it's a very simple thing to do, and it's common sense, but we don't do it often. But the moment we start doing it. I mean, it's a lot of clarity and improves our lives for so much better, right, Rhea?
Yeah, I think, yeah, I think it's amazing.
Yes, yes, it is, it is. When I, you know, stumbled upon the power of journaling and how it helped me, it completely transformed me. So every time I'm confused with business, with anything, you know, and everything that I'm confused with, I just write it down. And then I see what is it that is actually bothering me, whether even it is worth spending so much time and energy on. If it's not, then I move on from it, and then, then, you know, immediately my mind, uh, calms down. So for everyone who's watching it, please start writing.
Yes.
So Rhea, uh, you are handling a team, right? Um, how do you ensure your team's wellness? And also, you know, how do you ensure that you keep them engaged throughout? Because, you know, employee engagement is one thing, people management is one thing that we all struggle with as entrepreneurs.
Yes, yeah, yeah, we, yeah, we first try to align our team with our mission and our vision of our, of our company so that they, they always, they they have a spirit and they have an energy to do work. Means now we have a team of around 8 to 10 people and they, they all do work without, without our interference. Means we, we don't need to push them to do work. They do it by their own because they're working for the source. Yes. So means they, they should be, they should Uh, they should have a— means they should have, uh, you can say, uh, a vision that we see. They should see that vision too so that they can align with our company and do their work by their own. They know— they— yeah, we try to educate them, and so we try to focus on their growth. And we also talk to them when they, when they feel low and not able to do work. We also help them in their problems also. So, so that's why I think they are strict to us like this. Yes, we help them like our team. We treat them like our team members, not our employees. So So I think you should maintain a good culture in your company to stick the employees, right? Good culture.
Yeah, yeah, because they are the company, right? They are the ones who are building the company.
Yeah, they are the companies.
Yeah, yeah, they are the one who is the company, right? So our job as entrepreneurs, as founders, as leaders is to make sure that our vision is aligned with them and they are running the company well. Yes, right, great, superb. And Rhea, you know, in all this, how do you take care of your wellness? What is your routine? How do you maintain discipline? Please, you know, tell us all of it.
Yeah, yeah, sometimes it's difficult to maintain, but I try to maintain all the things. Means every day I wake up at around 7 AM, then I Then I do some meditation and yoga. Then I get ready and start my work. And at evening, go to gym. Then I, um, then again do some work and have meals in between. And then I read book and go to sleep. Yeah, that's my schedule.
Wow, so you are focusing on your health and wellness. Finally somebody is talking about it.
Yeah, I think, uh, yeah, a week. Yes, yes. I think without achieving a good wellness, uh, you can't do your work properly, you can't achieve the things you want in your life. So wellness is— yeah, health is everything.
Yeah, everything rests on it. I mean, if you are not healthy, everything will start falling apart. That's what I think.
Yeah, and I think before physical wellness, uh, you should achieve mental wellness. After that only you can achieve your physical wellness.
What do you mean, uh, mental wellness, Riya? And how do you ensure that you keep yourself mentally fit?
Oh yes, so by meaning mental wellness means you should be, uh, You should, uh, I think control your mind. Not your mind should be in your control, and it, uh, it always, uh, go towards the positive things, not towards negative things. You should control, you should have good habits, you should, you should develop good habits. And, uh, and, uh, means you should do some meditation, uh, to, for this And you should do self-talk, uh, self-talk and, uh, and all these things to maintain the— your mental wellness first. Um, yes.
And you're saying like there are two different entities, one is yourself and one is your mind. What does that mean?
Okay, okay. Means, okay, your body is different from your mind. If your mind controls your body, but you should control your mind first, then your body will be automatically controlled. So you should focus on your mental wellness first, and then you can control your body easily. Like that, if I give an example, means if you want to lose weight, uh, it's very difficult to control on your diet and do exercise. So if— so you should, you should have some goal to achieve in your mind, or you should, you should have focus with your mind first, then you can achieve that goal with your fitness, with your physical fitness.
Yeah, so basically before doing anything physically We need to be prepared about it mentally.
Mentally, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's very important. Actually, I do. I, yeah, I did it, uh, 2-3 years back, so to lose weight. So, so that's why I, I'm saying this.
Okay, what happened? Uh, what helped?
Okay, actually at that time, um, I want to lose some huge amount of weight, around 10 kgs, you can say around 10 to 12 kgs in 2-3 months. So it was very difficult at first time because it was very difficult for me to control on my diet. Yeah, so yeah, so first at that time I have a a small goal in my mind that, uh, at my cousin's wedding, so, so that I can wear good clothes and have a good shape. So I, so I firstly set a good goal in my mind that I have to do this before this date, I have to achieve this goal, uh, then I Then I start eating good diet and doing exercise in lockdown only. I do it myself only, not through any gym, not through any dietitian. I do it my own.
You did it yourself? But then may I ask you one question? Did you gain your weight back after the wedding?
Yes, yeah, some, some amount, yes.
And do you know why?
Yeah, because you can say, uh, at that time my goal is so limited, only for my sister wedding. Then after that, it was, uh, after, after the wedding over, um, I think my goal was accomplished and I was like gain weight, back to your original habits. Yeah.
So when, uh, you know, you are, you know, maintaining your diet right now, go to gym every day, what is that goal in your mind? Riya?
Yes, my goal is to, uh, to achieve something good in my life. Means, uh, I— means I want to first complete my vision, uh, that to acquire billions of users and to impact on billions of people's life. So that to achieve that, I should be healthy, uh, because without the good health, you can't do your work properly. You can't do work for 16 hours or 20 8 hours a day. Not, not a day, sorry, uh, around 10 to 12 hours a day. So for doing that, I'm sure you're working 20 hours a day.
You're just trying to be modest so that people don't judge you, but I know you are a workaholic and you may be working 15-20 hours a day.
No, no, it's— I think it's too much. Okay, means around 10 to 12 hours a day. So you should first achieve your mental and physical wellness. For this. So, uh, now this is my goal. So I, for complete my ultimate vision and for, for my goal, I have to become fit.
And, um, yeah, so this is a lifestyle thing now for you because you have aligned your purpose with a bigger cause.
Yeah.
And now you will not gain your weight back.
Yes.
So now you have realized the power of having a good vision aligned with a good purpose, a very nice why, which will help you become a better person and develop personally.
Yes.
Right, great, superb. And what about, you know, other people in your life? How do you manage your relationships with people around you? Is that also a part of your goal or, you know, personal development? What else are you doing to make sure that you're not just working, walking, but also socializing, socializing?
Yes, I think I'm a little kind of, you can say, antisocial. Means, yes, I am like an introvert, means I talk to people less. And I have some good friends, I talk to them, but But I try to, uh, means I try to save my time first so that I can complete my goal. You know, I have a— although I, I have a good relationship with people, with my family, with my— okay, with my mother, father, and all, and with my friends also, but, uh, I try to give them small amount of time so that I can manage everything. Means you can say around 1 hour or 2 hours a day, 1 hour a day, so that I talk to them to maintain everything.
Nice. So you're not missing out on, you know, the right people around you because you also make time for them.
Yeah, yeah. And I think we should, uh, we should have a small circle around us so that We can waste on— we can— we can't waste our time on unnecessary things and people.
Yeah, yes, you are just too focused. Oh God, this is hilarious, but whatever floats your boat. Great, superb, amazing talking to you, Rhea. Now, you know, if there's one insight that you want to leave our audience with, that, okay, we came to Rhea's podcast and she shared her wisdom with us, uh, what is that wisdom that you want to share with the audience today?
Okay, I think, uh, every— should everyone should have a Uh, everyone have a main goal in their life so that they can achieve that someday. Means, and they should have a great focus to achieve that goal. Great focus and goal, these things, these two things are very must in everyone's life. And I think one should not means, uh, just to work for, for them, for, for, for the money, for, for their sustainability. They should, they should do work to impact others' life also. Yes, I think because it was a time means, uh, you can say 1-2 years back, I thought about this and I found out that Uh, if we work just for us, just for our food, just for our travel and all these things, then, then you can say there is no difference between the animal and human. Human are for— yeah, yeah, it's a great thing I find out. Means human are for impacting others to create something. To, to move the human race forward. So we should have some contribution from us to others also, so that we, we can, uh, be real humans. Yes, animal also, yeah, animal also eat, also live, also take care of their family, do these things. But as an, as a human, we should create a great— we should try to create a great impact on others also and on this world.
And I think that is why you have 57 million users with you today, because you're focused completely on contribution. And kudos to you, Rhea, for that. Like, really, really, thank you for that.
Thank you, thank you so much, ma'am. Thank you.
