A speaker reflects on dealing with a difficult boss and suggests a mental shift: instead of taking conflict personally, ask whether the boss is having a bad day or struggling with something else. Reframing the situation with empathy reduces stress and leads to better decisions.
Chapters
I have the worst boss in this world. Have you ever said that? I have said that multiple times, but now when I have matured, I have grown, I realize that every boss is also a human being. They might also have a bad day. And next time when you are having an argument with your boss, try asking yourself this: Is my boss having a bad day? Could it be not about me but about them? How can I be more empathetic to their situation? Do I need to linger on this? Is it about me? Is it about them? When you start asking these questions to yourself, you shift your focus from your problem to their problem. The moment we shift this focus, our stress goes away and we feel better. When we feel better, we take better decisions and take better actions.
