A mentee wants to earn more but sabotages herself with two fears: that money makes you immoral, and that wealth will unleash a darker version of yourself. The speaker argues money is neutral and just amplifies who you already are. Fix the internal conflict first, and earning more follows naturally.

I want to make a lot of money. In one of my recent coaching sessions, one of my mentees, a very good one, he told me this. And I was— I know that he has a lot of potential, and I asked, then why are you not doing anything about it? Because you know you have the potential, and you are making that kind of money for someone else in a job. You know that you can make it for yourself. Why are you not doing it? And he said something which is every person who wants to make money needs to hear about. He said, I'm scared. I'm scared that I have— if I have a lot of money, the animal inside me will come out and I will do something very bad. There are two problems with this mindset. The first is that the person wants to make a lot of money, but he thinks that if he has a lot of money, he will be a bad person. So there is a conflict, a constant conflict that I want to have money, but I am a bad person if I have more money. And that is why he is stuck in a mode of procrastination. Second problem is that my animal instinct will come out, you know, the thing that I'm suppressing right now, it will get amplified. And it is absolutely right because money is something which amplifies who we actually are. So if inside the image of me is of someone who is suppressed because of certain reasons, and that suppression will go away and my bad part will come out, it means I am a bad person inside in my own mind. And these are the two things that needs to be fixed. One is the conflict, the second the image that I have in my mind about my own self when it comes to money. When you resolve these two conflicts, money is just a byproduct of your actions, which is dependent on resolving this conflict.
