This interview excerpt (YouTube video by Omar Zenhom) discusses a product called the "500 systems": a packaged collection of 500 core business systems (documents, workflows, policies, processes, SOPs) intended to let a business operate without the owner. Speakers define what a "system" is, describe the 500 systems as a playbook for handoffs and operations, and argue that systemizing increases a company's operational stability and resale value.
And one of the things that you're launching that I'm really excited about is this concept that you are sharing the 500 most important systems to install in your business. So tell us a little about what is 500 system? What pain point does it solve?
So systems is basically a document or a workflow for how to do something. Like in your business, there's policies, there's processes and the standard operating procedures. And so what I thought was, what about if I could build the 500 core systems that every business kind of like needs so your business can run without you having to be there day to day? It's.
Like a playbook that anybody can go to.
Exactly.
Building any kind of business, you should always think about how do I systemize everything? Not only to make your life easier, but one day you might have to sell your business. You know, either going to hand it over to a family member, they need to know the systems. If it's all in your head, you don't have a business. Basically you're a solopreneur or you're self employed. You know, you just bought yourself a job and if you're selling it to a company or a third party or something, this is going to increase the value of a company tremendously.
