Two people push back on AI hype promising easy viral success. Real audience building takes years of sustained effort and bad early work. The speaker's own YouTube videos from 15-20 years ago were poorly made, but the message stayed consistent while the craft improved.
there are too many people online who lie. And they want to sell you this dream of, oh, you can just have AI agents create 25 videos a day and one of them will go viral. No, that's not how it works. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to take time. Otherwise, everybody would post one video or record one podcast and they would be wealthy. So when I hear somebody talking about like, oh, I posted 3 videos and I didn't— get a million dollars, I go, good, what a gift.
It's a gift that no one is watching right now because you're just not good enough right now.
Bingo. My videos on YouTube, I kept them there. The videos that I've had up for over 15 years, you can go and look at them. The angle on my chin is horrific, the lighting awful, the message still the same message I have 20 years later.
And one of the things I always try to tell, if you don't have cringe-worthy work, you probably started too late.
