Omar Zenhom discusses why entrepreneurs struggle with planning and execution. The core problem: trying to be both planner and implementer at once. The fix is strict calendar discipline and delegating scheduling to someone else.
One of the hardest things of any business owner is that they have to be the planner and they have to be the implementer at the same time.
I agree. My calendar is like a religion for me. My wife does all the scheduling and planning. If it's on the calendar, it gets done and it gets done at that time. If it's not in the calendar and someone's like, can you just do it? And the answer is no, I'll refer you to Jen. She'll fit you in on that calendar. So if you have a compelling argument for why I should move something else, go for it. But if you just are in the mood to talk to me before that, it's not going to happen.
