Coach A or Coach B? Which One Do You Need?

Hattaiwat Pusanti explains that network marketing organizations contain two main audiences—Group A (ambitious, committed builders) and Group B (the larger, less-driven majority)—and argues leaders must adapt coaching style accordingly: use a demanding, performance-focused Coach B style for Group A and a warm, encouraging Coach A style for Group B. He emphasizes both groups need the same foundational training but different interpersonal approaches to help individuals progress toward financial freedom.

And hopefully you can apply. Just be entertained, all right? But bottom line, I hope you benefit from whatever I've been sharing. I don't know how many videos I've done, 10, 15 or something like that. And today I want to talk about this concept called Group A. Group B, Coach A, Coach B. Alright, so let's first address the Group A. Group B. Now, when you start building a network marketing organization, there'll be two types of people. The first group of people is what I call Group A. Now group A is always a minority. These are the guys who want to build their business mega. Seriously. Okay, Group A, these are people who will do whatever it takes. They are committed, they are hardworking, they see the bigger picture. They are not here just to sell some products and buy some products. They are here for financial freedom and they're willing to pay the price to get there. That's always the minority. The majority is what I call Group B. Now group B are people who basically are fascinated by the concept of network marketing. They love the products, they love the company, all right? They love the social benefits of being part of a positive minded organization, an empowering organization. People who are saying unbelievable and supporting each other. Group B may not be the go getters, but they are in love with the industry. All right? They're good people, all right, so. But they're not there yet. So they come for some events, they answer some of your messages, then they go missing and then they come back or maybe sometime of the month they contact you and ask you some questions about the new product, about the company, whatever it is. All right, so you've got group A. Group A are the movers and shakers and they are the Ones who are going to, who redefine this industry. Then you got Group B. Group B, ultimately, are good people who may, at certain points of their journey, decide to become Group A. Well, technically, everyone in Group A started off as Group B. It's like Group B is a mega, huge organization. And some people just upgrade themselves into becoming serious networkers, into becoming serious entrepreneurs on this journey of financial freedom, okay? Now, the mistake most networkers made, they treat both these groups the same. That means like one size fit all. Okay, guys, get together. I want to talk to you guys. You cannot speak to Group A and Group B with the same language, the same approach, the same intensity, okay? If you are too tough on Group B, they said, hey, what's going on? Why are you so aggressive and pushing me? I'm just here because I love this industry. You told me it's flexible timing, blah, blah, blah. And I just, I want to enjoy my journey. Now, if you're too soft on Group A, they say, what's wrong with you, man? I want financial freedom now, okay? And you're too soft. So here's what I've learned, okay, from my mentors, firstly, both Group A and Group B, okay, need the same information, the same system, the eight basic building blocks, which I'm going to do with you, what I call the fundamental foundation training for any network marketing organization in the world, all right? They need all of that. And then you need to change your approach to Group A and Group B. So I hope you're keeping track. Group A, committed maniacs, ready for financial freedom, willing to do whatever it takes. Group B, I love network marketing. I think I can be an entrepreneur. Let me go with the flow, okay? Now, your approach to them is to be a coach. See, ultimately, network marketing is about coaching people. You're coaching people on a new journey of their life, a new game, a new sport called entrepreneurship called network marketing. And what you need to do is be a coach. But there's two types of coaches. I've learned, thank God I've learned this 24 years ago. There's a coach A, Coach B. Now, what is a coach A? A coach A is a guy who's very inspirational, very positive, very loving, fantastic. You're the best. I love you. I'm always here for you. You are a shining star, all right? And hugging you and patting you on the back even though you have done nothing. That's Coach A. Coach B is the guy who calls you lazy to your face, reminds you of your dream, wakes you up at six in the morning and Tell you what's wrong with you? Do you deserve to sleep? Because you haven't achieved your target this week? All right, so let's do it. You have seen this many times in movies, in the sports, in American football or whatever, cricket or all these movies. You have a coach B. Coach Tartar was a fantastic movie where this, this basketball coach helped kids from a tough neighborhood become champions in basketball. Now ultimately, all right, if you want to win the hundred meter race, okay, for the Olympics gold medal, would you want a coach A or coach B, right? So can you imagine your coach A, it's okay if you don't win, all right? I still love you. Try your best. This is 100 meter Olympic finals gold medal. Or you want a coach B who looks at you, holds your shoulders and says, this is your chance in a lifetime. By the next Olympics, you will be too old and too slow to win this gold medal. But right now, everything is perfect. You just got to give 100%. Don't focus on the left, don't focus on the right. Don't focus on anything. Focus on that finish line. Give everything. I don't care if you die doing it. This is your 1 chance in your life. Don't waste it. Goosebumps, then you run the 100 meters. You understand? So I have learned from the beginning, I was blessed to learn that when you are talking to your group A, your committed hardcore people who made the decision, who made the big decision, who are serious about their journey to financial freedom and they are serious entrepreneurs, they are committed, they are warriors. You have to be a coach B, you got to push them even harder because if you're too soft on them, you lose them. Because they're hungry to be pushed. They want to be pushed. They're asking, make sure you got trespass. Make sure you got all, all of that thing sorted out. They emptied your cup. Trespass, everything and then you go for it. And then your group B, which is the masses, all right, of your organization, okay, Everyone is there, including your mother in law and everyone, okay? You be a coach A and you empower them and you uplift them and you inspire them and you talk about their dreams and you pat them your back regardless how small their achievement is. Because people need that in that group B. But group A, you still empower, you still uplift, but you push because these are supposed to be high performance athletes. These are supposed to be your performers. These are the people who will redefine your organization. These are people who don't sleep and they wake up in the morning. And they have a dream. They're willing to fight for every single moment of their day. And you need to be a coach B and group B be a coach A, as simple as that. You got group A, Group B, Group A. These are the people, all right? These are the ones. These are the success stories you hear about. These are people who are almost, you know, perfect machines of entrepreneurship and network marketing. Then you've got group B, which is an amazing bunch of people who fell in love with this industry like I did when I was 22 years old and younger, actually, when I was 17. And they all fell in love with this industry and they just want to go with the flow and try and appreciate their products and make a little bit of money and all that. And it's beautiful. And you still support them because you need them. Without them, there's no network marketing. And some of them will upgrade to group A. Now you, as an upline, as a coach for group B, these people who are holding hands and enjoying this journey, I think everyone should enjoy the journey. But these guys, you know, they haven't made that big decision. They all will eventually, hopefully. You inspire them. You be a coach A. You smile, you are loving and all that. But the group A of your organization, the hardcore guys, you gotta push. You gotta push. If you don't push them, you lose them. So you got to be a coach B. You got to know what they are capable of. You got to push them to the brink of them quitting for them to unleash that limitless potential in them guys, you got to push them at the risk of losing them. Because when they become group A, they have expectation from you as an upline. They're serious about their job and you owe it to them. And you got to push them as a coach B, make sure you got trespass. Make sure you also know how to uplift them after you hammer them sometimes. Make sure you stand by their side and not behind them and give instructions. Make sure you lead from in front. Make sure that every challenge you face, you are a warrior general right there with them facing that battle. Make sure you are not only there for their sunny days, but you are there for their rainy days. That's more important. And then you can definitely be a coach B in their lives. Group A needs a coach B. Group B needs a coach A. And financial freedom is about having a coach B and having the ability to be a coach B when necessary. But ultimately, guys, remember this. We are not here to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. We are here to be entrepreneurs and to achieve that ultimate goal of financial freedom. Love you guys.
