A short motivational monologue by Hattaiwat Pusanti that contrasts everyday "small" decisions (what to wear, what to eat) with the relatively few "big" decisions each person makes (choices about study/career, where to work, marriage, having children). Drawing on a lesson from his mother, the speaker argues that big decisions require substantial life changes and sacrifices, and urges listeners to commit fully—"pay the price"—so that failure is not an option.

In life. I learned from my mother that there are two types of decisions in our life. And I want you to listen very carefully. First, they are small decisions. What to wear this morning. What to eat for lunch. Small decisions. And we make hundreds of small decisions every day of our lives. But Amma taught me that the important decisions in life are called the big decisions. Now, an average person like you and me, we don't make hundred big decisions in life. We make five or four. Now, as you are growing up, as a child, you don't make any decisions. Our parents made all the decisions for us. What to wear, what to study, which school to go to. You understand? The only time you make your first decision, and this is only 50% of people, is what to study. First big decision. Right? What do you study after high school? Today our kids decide this our time. Our parents decided first. Secondly, after graduating, where do you work? Some people work in their country. Some people work overseas. All right. Third big decision. Should I get married or not? And the fourth big decision is when you have children. So on average, you make four big decisions in life. And the funny thing is, you spend sometimes more effort in deciding where to go for lunch than these four big decisions. Every big decision in life requires changes to your life. Requires great sacrifice. That means after you make a big decision, your life must change. Your behavior must change. Everything changes. You no longer can live the way you live before the big decision. If this is going to be the biggest decision of your life, then be prepared. Requires great sacrifice. And you must be ready for this. Sacrifice means you cannot do it and complain. Sacrifice is not a negative thing. It is a positive thing. That means you are sacrificing for your dream. You are sacrificing for your kids, for your parents, for your wife, your husband, your family. You are making a sacrifice. Pay the price. Make the sacrifices. Cry if you have to. Today you need to decide that this is it. That this is what you want to do. It's not a choice. Failure is not an option. Don't even think about doesn't exist. Right? You are here to succeed. That's it. Decide. Make this the best biggest decision of your life. And no matter what happens, don't give up on this decision.
