Menno Holterman, CEO of Nijhuis Industries, explains why water technology needs differ by region: some places face scarcity, others high costs. The circular economy only gains traction when companies can prove a clear return on investment. He returns to BlueTech Forum annually for its 150-200 participants and relaxed atmosphere that enables real business conversations.

Hi, I'm Angela Godwin, chief editor for Waterworld and Industrial Water World magazines, coming to you from the BlueTech forum here in Dublin, Ireland. Joining me today is my guest, Meno Holterman. Meno, thank you so much for joining us. Appreciate it. Meno is the CEO of Nyhaus Industries and you're also delivering a keynote at the event this year and I want to talk to you a little bit about that. I know you're going to be talking about some of the drivers around the world for water technology, but can you give us a little bit more information on what you're going to be talking about?
Yeah, what I'm going through address this afternoon is what are the different drivers in different regions around the world? We see for example that water scarcity could be an important driver but in other regions the cost for water is more important. So different drivers means also different solutions. And I will give present some of the different solutions we, we bring to the market this afternoon.
Excellent. One of the things that we keep hearing talked about here at the conference today is the circular economy. What are your thoughts on that and how that is, is it, is it being received in.
I think at this moment of time it's very well received as long as we make sure that we guarantee the client a return on investment. So the business case behind the circular economy is absolutely important.
Excellent. Now I know this is your fourth BlueTech forum, so you're coming back year after year. What is it that keeps you coming back to this event?
I think when Paul Callaghan started this initiative on the west coast of the United States, it was a great opportunity to meet clients, to meet partners, to meet other players in the field in a somewhat relaxed atmosphere. I think the group, 150 to 200 people, they are all coming dedicated for this event that I think is a good size to also get some more in depth discussions.
Excellent.
So that's one of the reasons why with a great lineup and the very interesting guest speakers coming together, here is one of the reasons for us to come back to be a sponsor and to support this event.
Excellent. Well Mano, we wish you all the best of luck going forward and thank you very much much for your time today. Thank you very much for Water World and Industrial Water World magazine. I'm Angela Godwin.
