In this interview recorded at the BlueTech Forum in Vancouver, Waterworld magazine host Angela Godwin speaks with Divya Inna, chair of the event and representative of BlueTech Research. Divya explains why the forum is a critical service for BlueTech’s clients, emphasizing the value of face‑to‑face interaction and the ability to connect clients with investors, technology providers, and end‑users. She outlines the forum’s distinctive one‑to‑one meeting model that deliberately matches tech companies with investors or end‑users, and notes a strategic shift toward engaging more utilities and end‑users in recent years. The conversation also highlights the broad delegate mix—including large and small tech firms, water investors, utilities, corporate industrial users, academics, government bodies, and NGOs—demonstrating the event’s growing scale and its role as a comprehensive networking hub for the water industry.

Hi, I'm Angela Godwin with Waterworld magazine coming to you from the BlueTech forum here in Vancouver, Canada. Joining me this morning is my guest, Divya Inna. She is with Bluetech Research. Divya, thank you so much for joining us today. Thank you for having me. So you have the very esteemed duty today of being the chair of the event this year. Tell me a little bit about why this event is so important for your clients.
I think, you know, I've been with BlueTech for three years in a row, well, three years so far. And every year that I've been part of BlueTech forum, it's gotten bigger and better and this year is our biggest, biggest event yet. So it's important for me because it's great to see clients in such an intimate setting. And of course, you know, we talk to clients all the time, but it's great to engage with them face to face and great to be able to assist them with any networking or introduce them to investors or new technology companies, anything they're looking for. And we know, given our conversations that we have throughout the year, we know what they're interested in and it's a part of a service we offer to them. Is this networking opportunity.
Excellent, excellent. And speaking of the networking, I want to talk about that a little bit because that is really a unique facet of what the BlueTech forum offers. And tell us a little bit more about sort of the, you know, the idea behind that and what the philosophy is there with the networking.
Well, you see just the different. We have such a large cross section of delegates in the room today. So we have large tech companies, small tech companies, water investors, utilities, corporate industrial users. It's fascinating to have everybody in the room and part of what we offer as BlueTech is the one to one meeting. So if it was a tech company, we'd like to introduce them to investors. If it was an end user, we introduced them to tech companies. So we do the, we do it both ways, I suppose, and that's value to our clients. Particularly with BlueTech. We've had a special focus on pushing our service with end users the last few years. So this year we've had, we have more utilities than we had last year and that's a great bonus for us.
Excellent. I've noticed that it's really a bigger crowd than it is.
Indeed it is, absolutely. This year we have a few other types of folks in the room. We have academics, we have government institutions, so we have a couple of NGOs in the room. As well. So very, very happy that the water industry is being represented in such full capacity here. Excellent.
That is fantastic. Thank you so much. We wish you all the best of luck today with your chairing duties. Thank you very much. Fingers crossed. Thank you so much for joining us. Thanks, Ang. Angela, great speaking with you. For Waterworld magazine, I'm Angela Godwin.
