Authors and speakers should repurpose their ideas across video, podcasts, articles, and ebooks instead of sticking to one format. People consume content on phones, tablets, and other devices, so limiting yourself to a single medium means missing huge audiences. The effort is modest and the payoff in reach is substantial.

As an author, a thought leader, or speaker, you clearly have something to say. In the world that we live in today, we often don't know what medium to say it in. What does that mean? What that means is writers tend to write, speakers like to speak, other people like to create models, draw, etc. We live in a world where people are consuming content in so many different formats and so many different mediums that you're excluding such a large target audience if you're not cross-pollinating and if you're not taking your work and putting it into different formats. So if you're a writer that loves to write, stretch yourself a little bit and try to take some of your thoughts and put them on video. If you tend to do a lot of video, write a little bit. If you tend to write up very technical, detailed scientific academic type journals, try to write something that's a little more casual. Stretch yourself and move into different mediums because people are consuming content in so many different ways today. We've got iPods and iPads and mobile as well as books, ebooks and printed books. And the objective is to try to reach as many folks as you can in as many mediums as you can with your work. And the only way that you're going to do that is to be where they are. Don't have them come to you in your comfort zone, in your comfortable format. Go to them and convert your stuff into as many things as you can. It's not that hard. It's not that expensive to do. A little bit of risk and a little bit of trying, the reward is worth it. Thank you.
