Is Your Content Fresh and Relevant? - Thought Leadership Leverage

Peter Winick explains two ways to keep content relevant: incremental tweaks for steady improvement, or opportunistic overhauls that make bold changes when market conditions shift. Both matter, but occasional radical pivots create bigger breakthroughs than small updates alone.

This is Peter Winick from Thought Leadership Leverage, and today I wanted to bring something to your attention that I thought might be interesting to you. And that is how you evolve and how you're continuing to move and, and keep your content fresh and relevant. The 2 primary ways I see authors and thought leaders do this are one, the incremental way where they look at their work and and they look at their clients and they say, oh, if we adjust this a little bit or tweak this a little bit or modify things just a touch, we're gonna get an incremental bump, incremental improvement, incremental connectedness to people that are consuming the content. And that's fine. We should constantly, constantly be reviewing our work and looking to incrementally make it better. But by definition, incremental change is not gonna yield radical results on the other side. You're probably gonna get incremental results, and that's cool. The other piece to look at is opportunistically. And oftentimes our work starts someplace based on where we were 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago, what our circumstances were, what our thinking was, what our situation was, and that's kind of where we took it. And what I say is take a look with a fresh set of eyes and say, given where the world is today, given where the economy is today, given where the market is today, where's the greatest opportunity for me to launch my content? What is the greatest impact it can have on the— On the world? A certain population that I might not have the expertise in, that I might not have thought about in advance, but look at it through the lens of great opportunity. And I think it's those 2 counterbalances, looking opportunistically and incrementally on a consistent basis at your content, that's gonna yield you continued improvement and continued success. So again, always do the incremental, but don't be afraid to be opportunistic and look and, and do some radical changing to your work so you can get it out there and drive the results that you want to drive. Thanks so much.
