Jason Martin grew up poor without role models, then built confidence by joining Primerica for mentorship and asking successful people for help. He argues that lacking examples of success doesn't limit you if you actively seek guidance from people who've already made it.

I think one of the most incredible things about Primerica is if you do the work, your life changes radically. I grew up, I mentioned this earlier, but I grew up in a 1,000-square-foot home with 9 people and we had no money. Nobody went to, you know, my parents didn't make much money and I didn't have any examples of success. You have so many examples of success here, so many people that you can look up to, that you can gather information and knowledge related to the business and how it can help you. There's no shortage of help. You need to make sure you start asking for help. Don't be shy about asking for help. If you need that, you ask, because people are— people, especially the people that are the successful people, they want to help you. They want to share what they've done, you know, to become who they are with people that are motivated. So don't be shy about asking for help. Ask for help, you know.
