First Time at Disney World Character Dining was Surprising

In this YouTube vlog, Rachael Fillbrandt and Josh document their final day at Walt Disney World by attending the Minnie's Beach Bash character breakfast at Cape May Café in the Beach Club Resort. They describe the buffet layout, highlighting items such as Mickey and Minnie waffles, an omelet station, carved ham, pancakes, pastries, cold cereal, and coffee, and they sample several dishes while interacting with four Disney characters—Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy—who visit their table for photos. The hosts discuss the price ($49 per adult, estimated $30‑$40 per child), the value of meeting characters without waiting in line, and the convenience of the location relative to their Boardwalk accommodation. A mid‑segment sponsor plug for HelloFresh details their subscription experience and a promotional offer. The vlog concludes with overall positive impressions of the food quality (especially the texture of the Mickey waffles), service, and recommendation for other guests interested in character dining in the Beach Club area.

Hey everybody, I'm Josh.
And I'm Rachael.
Come along with us on our final day here in Disney World where we are going to our first and only character breakfast.
Yes, we are going to Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast over at Cape May Cafe.
At Beach Club Resort. And we're gonna see at least 4 characters.
Yes.
And it's a buffet.
Mickey waffles incoming. Let's go.
Here we go. Oh, there's Donald already. Hi! These characters are shorter than I thought they would be.
Yeah, they are.
It is a buffet, and there's Mickey waffles. We've heard good things about them. Oh nice, we got a booth!
Wonderful, thank you.
And Goofy is here as well. So Rachael already got—
Yeah, we got a postcard signed by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy— not Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy.
Yes.
And they're shorter. I mean, The dogs aren't. They were tall yesterday. Goofy was tall yesterday.
Goofy was a bit taller yesterday than he is today, but he is coming to our table right now.
We should definitely take a selfie.
Yes. Hello!
Can we get a picture?
Yeah. All right, real quick, let's take a look. We got some Mickey waffles, potatoes, green beans, broccoli. That is poached eggs and a seasonal hash. Sausage, bacon, eggs. Seasonal fajitas, tortillas, everything for a taco, and then oatmeal stuff. Over here we got some Ambrosia. Cottage cheese, strawberry yogurt, overnight oats, and fruit. And we come around, we've got some croissants, cinnamon rolls, muffins, seasonal Danish, beach buns. I've heard good things about those. With crème anglaise. Oh, nice. On this side, we have some carved ham, eggs, bacon, sausage, more potatoes, blueberry pancakes, Mickey waffles, crepes, bread pudding, maple syrup, some fruit and whipped cream. You get some toast over here, bagels. Looks like they're making some fresh Mickey pancakes over here and some salami and cheese. You got a visitor. Hi there. Hi, Daisy.
Oh, thank you. Isn't it nice?
Yeah, very cute. Let me get a picture of you two. Good.
Can I get a picture? Can he get a picture? Yeah.
Thank you.
Love you.

All right, uh, Rachael found another corner that I missed, but I went with all the pork products basically. Ended up with some sausage, some bacon, some freshly carved ham, some scrambled eggs, and I gotta try the Mickey waffle. Actually, it looks like Minnie because she's got a bow on there, but we have heard good things about that Mickey waffle or Minnie waffle, so let's try it. All right, cutting off her face a little bit here. It still has some crispy edges. That's good. And I really like that they, they put the syrup in a hot container so that keeps the syrup nice and warm. All right, Rachael, what did you get?
I ended up with a fresh omelet because why not? Omelet station, heck yeah! Hello! Ham, cheese, mushroom. They do have like Western and a veggie omelet as well, but you can also build your own. Then a seasonal Danish which looks like a blueberry with some nice sugar on top, a couple pieces of bacon, and a piece of toast.
I'm impressed that the bacon all looks nice and crispy.
Yeah, it looks good.
Really good. I'm ready.
It is. That's good bacon.
Yeah, I agree. I ended up getting two pieces, but I could have brought, I don't know, five to ten.
It's not a very big buffet, but it looks like it has everything you need.
Yeah.
I'm impressed. It has an omelet station, a cold cereal station, and then Josh showed you the other pieces. Like yeah, heck yeah.
All right, I almost forgot to show there is some cold cereal. So if you're interested in that, looks like they have frosted flakes. Flakes, uh, Froot Loops, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And then just to the other side, they have an omelet bar as well, which comes with ham, cheese, onion, peppers, mushrooms, spinach. I think that's it. All right, and one good thing is we did both get coffee and it came with a carafe at the table.
Yeah, we'll always take that.
We do enjoy that. And it tastes good. It's a nice regular diner-style coffee. Yeah, but I did want to try the sausage and the ham. The eggs, I'm pretty sure, are going to be like eggs—
scrambled eggs nonetheless.
There's a nice crisp casing, and I like that I can see the little char. I really enjoy pork sausage personally, so I think it's good.
Yeah, they're good. A good breakfast sausage is hard to beat, right? Like, it's really tasty.
All right, now let's try Let's try the ham.
And if you haven't noticed yet, Josh ended up with a poutine shirt from Canada.
This is in protest. If you want to know why it's in protest, you should watch yesterday's video at Epcot. Oh man, that ham is delicious. And like, the outside, especially the skin, is nice and sweet.
I was like, it's a thick piece of ham too. They did not skimp on that.
No, definitely get the ham. Even over the sausage, and I'm a sausage guy.
Nice.
Minnie is close, but she sees a lot of children first. So we can keep eating.
So we can keep eating. My omelet is really, really good, and I'll tell you what, this little pastry is delightful.
Yeah?
Yeah, very good. I love an all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast especially because it's usually just what you want.
Yeah, I think you made a good point that it's It's not extravagant, but it's got a lot of— it's got what you need. It's got the options you're looking for.
Yep, 100%.
Here she comes.
Hi, Minnie!
Hi there. The kids, Donald and Daisy, are all surfing, so you're gonna hear that. But we did— I went with some Mickey waffles. And I don't see the bow this time. So Mickey waffles with syrup. This is a poached egg on a seasonal hash, and then I added some hollandaise sauce and then some overnight oats, which looks like it has some blueberries.
I went with a seasonal fajita. Um, I did not add eggs. I'm just having a taco for breakfast, and I also got some Mickey waffles. I already threw butter on mine and have syrup sitting on my side.
Oh, okay, you do have some syrup. Yeah, okay, cool. And let's see how this yolk looks. I'm gonna guess it's hard. Yep, but you can see there's a hash underneath there.
Hey, Donald! Yeah, can we do a picture?
Looking good!
Hey!
And the setting is quite large, but the characters get around Uh, we just had Daisy stop by for the second time, and we've had all 4 characters come by for pictures already. All right, breakfast is over.
Yeah.
I thought it was good.
It was very good.
Yeah, and I will say it's surprising, those Mickey waffles. We knew we had heard about them, and so I just assumed they were just in the shape of a Mickey, but they actually hold texture really well.
Yeah.
And I've had many waffles from a buffet and they're cold and they just don't have that texture. And they did. I was shocked by it.
I agree. I was too. And for the price, I definitely think it's worth it. So it's $49 per adult. I didn't check the kid prices, but I want to say probably about $30 to $40 per kid. But you get to meet 4 characters and pretty big names: Goofy, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. And they come to your table.
Yeah. And you get to take your pictures. You don't have to wait in line for it. You don't have to pay for the Disney Pictures So it all depends on that. I think, yeah, there's probably a cheaper breakfast out there, but if you want to see characters and stuff, this is a good way to do it.
Yeah, agreed. And as I mentioned earlier, the buffet wasn't large, like, but it was a selection of stuff you actually want to eat. Yes, including fresh omelets and cold cereal, which for us, we don't treat ourselves to cold cereal at home. So it's kind of one of those fun pieces.
Because we would eat a box at a time.
Yeah. And then you have, you know, your basics Um, there were fresh fruit and pastries and bacon and eggs and sausage. So you have everything you need in this small little buffet with the characters and really great service. Our coffee was also included in that price, so that was very helpful.
Well, and we are staying at Boardwalk, but we were able to come over here at Beach Club, which Yacht Club and then Swan and Dolphin are also nearby. So if you're in any of those areas, I could definitely see walking over here for the breakfast.
Yeah.
Uh, and it was one of the few things that we had seen for character dining in this area that worked for our schedule. So if you're interested in the character dining, I think you should give it a try.
I agree.
