Hey everybody, I'm Josh.
And I'm Rachael.
And we recently wrapped up our first trip to Walt Disney World. And for a long time, we held off going to Walt Disney World because of the cost, or what we had heard from people that the cost was. But we're now home, we've got our credit card bills, and we're gonna share them with you.
And the reason for this video is truly transparency and show you how much our trip to Disney World cost, because it is something we paid for out of our own pockets.
Alright, so let's get started. Why did we pick now to go to Walt Disney World? So part of it is because I was there for a work trip. So for a few days, I got there ahead of Rachael, and luckily because of that, I did not have to pay for my flight.
Yes, I did have to pay for my flights. For me, the round-trip flights from Denver to Orlando was $389.07.
If you're gonna go to Disney World, there's a good chance that you want to stay at a Disney World resort. And so we picked one that was closest to the parks that we wanted to go to, which was Hollywood Studios and Epcot, and we were going to be able to walk there, so we picked BoardWalk. Which ended up being a deluxe resort. We didn't really know what that meant at the time.
No.
But it definitely did cost a bit more. I knew that we were just gonna do single park tickets, so no park hopper on this. And so our total for our hotel with our 2 single park tickets was $2,758.23.
So of course, flying into Orlando, we needed transportation to the hotel. And we did a rideshare to the Disney Boardwalk, which cost $63.23.
Alright, so because I was at a work conference, we did not get to Boardwalk until about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. So we checked in and we ended up going down to the Boardwalk area and checked out some of the food options. So we got a corn dog and a—
Cheese dog.
Foot-long cheese dog, basically. And that ended up costing us about $31.95. Oh, and we had a bag of chips with that too.
Yes. While we were down on the Boardwalk, we had to do some shopping. And of course, I ran into some Disney ears. I ended up with 2 different sets of ears and a MagicBand. My total was $148.
And because Rachael got a MagicBand, I decided I needed a MagicBand as well. So my cost was $47.91.
We then headed over to Disney Springs where we caught up with some friends for some cocktails at Enzo's Hideaway. We had 5 cocktails there. The price was $140.35. Worth every penny.
They were worth every penny, but we did learn at that moment that alcohol in Walt Disney World Is coming at a bit of a markup.
Yes.
We did go to Frontera Cocina for dinner that night. We had dinner, drinks, and dessert for $156.54. And then we needed some more merch.
So we went shopping again.
Yeah, we definitely learned that we, we are not super big Disney people, even though we're wearing some Disney merch right now.
Yeah, we have it on.
But actually, Rachael bought that shirt.
I did. $26.63.
At Disney Springs. And then I also got a shirt over at the World of Disney Store for $74.54. So if you want some of those nice button-up shirts, they come at a little bit of a cost.
So our total for the first day we checked in with shopping, food, and drinks was $625.92.

All right, so then our first full day occurred the next day, and we were going to Hollywood Studios. And before we got there, we had already done a Lightning Lane multi-pass, which ended up costing us $64 total, or $32 each. Yes, which definitely came in handy. Highly recommend it. Would do it again.
Agreed. Okay, our first snack of the day at Hollywood Studios ended up being the Ronto Roaster. It was a breakfast wrap. You may have seen that in the video. $13.83.
And you gotta have some coffee, so we went to Kat Saka's Kettle and got the Cocoa Puff Cold Brew times 2 for a total of $14.46, and it was delicious.
After we did most of the Star Wars rides in Hollywood Studios, we then went to the Star Wars Milk Stand. So we got a blue and green milk. Total cost, $20.85.
I would skip that next time.
Agreed.
Yeah, not a big fan. Next up, we went to Baseline Tap House where we did have some snacks and a few beers, and it was $63.90. Would do that again.
Agreed. One of our favorite stops while we were at Hollywood Studios was our reservation at Oga's Cantina where we each had 2 cocktails and then we had a road beer to go. That total— oh, and we had a flatbread, which I would skip next time.
Yeah, it was weird.
The total for that was $136.85.
It was totally worth it. But make sure you get a reservation. Otherwise there was a line way out the door. And then after that, we did need a little bit of coffee because of all that alcohol. So we went to Joffrey's. We got 2 shaken Jamaicans for $13.
And as we know, you have to go to the Brown Derby while you're at Hollywood Studios. So we went there for dinner and drinks. That total ended up being $192.23.
And then we each had to buy some merch because that's what you do in Disney. And To be fair, we walked into that trip with zero Disney shirts. So we had to buy a Disney shirt each day to wear the next day. That was what we told ourselves.
Or we felt we had to.
Yes. And so Rachael ended up buying 2 shirts at Keystone Clothing for $76.66. And I ended up buying 1 shirt at Mickey's of Hollywood for $79.86. Again, one of those collared shirts, if you want those button-ups, you're pushing $75 to $80.
So our total cost over at Hollywood Studios was $675.64.
I'm kind of surprised it was about the same as day 1.
I know.
But that does include— we also had our tickets rolled into our hotel.
Yes.
Okay, and our next day was at Epcot, and we went crazy. Nobody should do this, but we do know that drinking around the world is a thing, and I'm sure eating around the world is a thing, so we had to do both of them. Amongst other things. But before we get to that, we had a single ride Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy, which was $20 each or $40 total.
And yes, it's well worth it after we saw those lines.
Holy cow. Totally worth it. Yeah, it definitely saved us at least an hour, if not more.
We got there early in the morning and were able to rope drop, so we started off our day with coffee from Joffrey's. We had 2 Shaken Jamaicans and that total was $17.03. We must have got the large because it was a different price from the day before.
I think so. And then we ended up doing rides for a few hours, so we didn't spend anything, but we definitely made up for it after that. We ended up going to the Florida Fresh to get a couple of fish sandwiches and a beer flight where our total cost was $28.04.
And because we were there during the Flower and Garden Festival, we had to try the trio of dips and chips from the Yacht Grub. $6.91. Not too bad.
That's true.
And both of them we'd do again.
We would do both again. Now after that, we decided to start our around-the-world crawl.
Yes.
And we started over in Canada where we got some scallops and beers, where our total cost was $15.11.
Beers, yes. Scallops, no.
Yeah, don't get the scallops. They had no poutine. We tried to get the poutine, but it wasn't there.
We then went over to the United Kingdom where we got fish and chips and a beer. That total was $28.21.
And then we went to France and we waited in line for a long time.
Way too long.
After that though, we did have a glass of champagne and some crepes. Actually, a single crepe. And that was $36.69.
After France, we headed over to Morocco where we tried the sangria for $15.18 and we got the Moroccan bread and dips for a total of $5.63.
That was a great buy though.
Absolutely. So right about $20. $44.81 for the food and drink at Morocco. And then I found a really cool t-shirt there. So I spent $45.78 on a t-shirt at Morocco.
Yeah, the merchandise as well as the alcohol definitely are starting to pile up here on us.
I mean, they know how to get you in for sure!
They do! Then we went to Japan and I sent Rachael to the line. So she got 2 drinks and 2 food items and it was $44.07. We keep stacking up our price as we go around.
Yeah, but that frushi was surprisingly delicious.
Yeah, everything was good there.
We then went over to America and had barbecue and a beer, and it cost us $29.28.
Then we decided to take a little bit of a break to just go back over to the Spaceship Earth area, and we went to Geo 82 where we had 2 cocktails each and a crab cake. And it was $135.26. This is a very nice elegant lounge. You do have to have a reservation for it. It is adults only and it came at an adult price tag, I would say. But it was delicious.
I was gonna say, and it was well worth it.
It was.
After Geo 82, we started back up with our drinking and eating around the world and we hit up Mexico where we had some empanadas and a margarita. That total was $35.15.
Then we went over to Norway, which was one of our highest rated places.
It was.
Surprisingly. And we had some lefse and beer. Came in at a cheap $18.89. But it was a big beer. It was.
And then we went to the Outpost, or Africa, and we had a frozen elephant and a beef patty. That total was $24.80.
And then we went over to China, got some wontons, and I just wrote a bad drink.
It was terrible.
It was not very good. It was way too much passion fruit. But that was $26.10.
And then we made our way to Germany where we got a bratwurst and a flight of beers. That total was $27.09.
And then to wrap up our countries, we went to Italy where I got a mule and a slice of pizza. Huge slice of pizza though.
It was a big slice.
And it was $30.09.
Oh, and then we had to make it back over to Canada because we needed some beers to watch the fireworks. So we got 2 beers. Much larger than our first round, and it was $20.77.
And then I found my shirt there where I ended up buying a poutine Chip 'n' Dale shirt for $39.39. And on our way back to the hotel, I found another shirt that I liked, which was about the Abracadabra Bar at Boardwalk, which was $35.13.
So our total cost for the day at Epcot was $704.60.
Not too bad for how much we did. We overspent on everything and I feel okay about that price. Now, our final day came and we had to check out that day, but we did go over for breakfast over at Cape May Cafe where we did the character buffet breakfast for 2, which included coffee.
Yes.
And it was $104.37.
We then wandered around and got some more souvenirs and spent $23.42 on socks.
And then we ended up checking out and hanging out on the Boardwalk area until we needed to go to the airport. And so we ended up getting a slice of pizza and a beer for $24.01, a corn dog again for $15.88, and Boardwalk Deli, we got a soda for $5.10.
Making our total for the day we were going home $172.78. So we had to get a ride back to the airport and that cost was $56.33.
So before we give our full grand total, we're gonna break it down by food, drinks non-alcoholic, drinks alcohol, merchandise, Lightning Lane or FastPass, and our hotel.
Yes.
Well, actually our hotel we already told you.
Yep.
I think it was $2,700 and change.
Yep.
But our food, we ended up spending $676.22.
Our non-alcoholic drinks cost us $70.44.
Our alcoholic drinks cost us $714.01.
Our merchandise and souvenirs cost us $597.32.
That was way more than I expected. Yeah, I thought maybe I'd buy a t-shirt or 2. That was about it. But it's too easy to get wrapped up into it. Yes. And then our Lightning Lane or FastPass was $104 total, which I think was absolutely worth it.
I agree. So our overall total for our entire trip to Disney World was $5,445.80. Now that may seem high, but also no, you don't have to splurge like we did. We definitely went overboard on merchandise as we mentioned. Drinking around the world and eating around the world, although we shared most of the dishes, you still could cut that back. And the Geo-82 Bar, which we had a great time at, as well as Oga's Cantina and our time at Disney Springs where we had cocktails, we easily could have cut back on that itself.
But I I wouldn't.
I would do those all over again.
I would too. And the other spot that you could save a little bit of money is by not staying at a deluxe resort.
Yes.
Um, I'm not gonna say that's half the cost, but it's definitely cheaper to stay at some of the other ones. It's just gonna take you a little bit more time generally, and you're gonna have to plan out your transportation, whereas we had a boat to Hollywood Studios and a very short walk to Epcot.
Yeah.
So it worked for us. It was an awesome way to spend our first time going to Disney World. It's gonna be hard for us not to stay at a deluxe resort so that it is very close to the parks next time, but we say we're going to.
And we're going back.
We are going back. So hopefully this helps you, uh, be able to plan out your trip and plan out your budget going into Walt Disney World. If you're enjoying our videos, don't forget to hit that like and subscribe.
