In this podcast excerpt, Speaker A opens with a promotional pitch for the Help for Men Brotherhood, a support community for men dealing with issues such as dead bedrooms, divorce, loneliness, and life rebuilding, offering private forums, live Zoom meetings, coaching, and free access to the host’s books. The segment then shifts to Speaker B, who shares a personal anecdote from a university Parents’ Day/Homecoming event attended with his 22‑year‑old son’s college. He describes the scene as a “weird conglomeration” of hyper‑sexualized young women (19‑22) dressed scantily, minimal‑effort young men, and a pervasive hookup culture. Speaker B reflects on how this modern dating environment differs from his own generation, implying that these dynamics shape the dating game for today’s young adults.

Miss Candace says, I appreciate the answer. One of the main reasons I follow you is because we have a 22-year-old son. The dating game is completely different than when his father and I were in that scenario. It certainly is. Candace, did you happen to see a little video snippet I did of, um, the experience I had at my 20-year-old daughter's college? Um, what do you call it? They had— it was Parent Day. It was, I believe it was homecoming. Yeah, homecoming at the university. And all the fraternities had like a homecoming, um, tailgating thing set up at a parking lot. Like, this is our little section over here, and please come, parents, and join us. Yes, she says yes, I did. For those that didn't see this, and I saw on display a— I was there for a few hours, a few hours of— it was just weird. There's just no way around it. It was this weird conglomeration and mixture of hypersexuality, especially on the part of the ladies, the young ladies there. I'm not trying to be some kind of pervy weirdo here, but just to paint a picture here, really scantily clad young 19 to 22 probably year old gals um, all showing as much as they humanly could and get to get away with it. Let me circle back—
Parents' Day.
It was Parents' Day, and I'm watching this on display going, um, hello ladies, okay? And, um, so I'm trying to think, what if I were one of these 19-year-old, 20-year-old dudes just in this buffet of this hypersexuality? And of course my mind immediately goes to, that would have been nice right back then, but But I'm watching them and I'm looking at the guys and they all just look terrible. They— none of the guys put in any effort. Not none, 99.9% of the guys did not put any effort into their looks. The girls put effort into their looks. It could be argued to an unhealthy degree, maybe. I'm not the biggest prude in the world, but it was still eye-opening to me watching this. Maybe a little biased being the father of one of the gals there. Thankfully my daughter was not dressed in such a way. Happy to report, but a lot of girls were with their parents there. I saw the— I saw butt cheeks, the underside of girls' butt cheeks sticking out. I even saw in a couple girls the underboob because their crop top was so cut so high or whatever. Parents' Day, university. Anyway, so I saw this weird dynamic of this hypersexual meeting mixed with this we really don't give a shit guys over here. And they never really came together. I didn't see guys and gals just hanging all over each other, making out, kissing, hugging. I didn't see any of that. The vibe was one of just buddies hanging out, and that was it. It was very odd. It was just— I didn't quite know what to make of that. It was almost as if we have these people that are so hypersexualized, maybe, you know, the phones and the internet and so forth allows them to stay connected on a regular basis throughout the day, every day, all day. So getting together in person It's just not really that big of a deal to them. You know, they've been— he probably says, hey Sarah, who I've already got— I've already been talking to for 3 hours today, you know, on Instagram or whatever, how you doing? So it was an interesting dynamic and really illustrative of that dating world, if you will. It's confusing. It's, uh, you know, if you ask them, it's a lot of hooking up, which means casual sex, not a lot of deep relationships, and a lot of people sleeping around with a lot of other people. And it's very brief fleeting relationships, and I'm curious to see where that's going to lead. I don't know, it's kind of interesting. And then we could go on and on about why it is the gals felt the need to, uh, overemphasize sexuality to the point of being a little silly about it, and why the guys swung the pendulum all the way in the other direction and looked comically bad. Why does anybody notice this diametrically opposed sexuality here on display. It was just— it was very odd. Very odd.
