Introduction to the Story | Amritkaal Mentors – An Initiative by MentorCloud

Launch presentation for "Amrit Kaal Mentors," introduced by Dr. Ravi Gundlapalli (founder/CEO of MentorCloud). The initiative, aligned with India’s Developed India Mission and timed on Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, aims to mobilize mentorship and skilling for Indian youth toward Viksit Bharat by 2047. The session includes a recorded Independence Day message from Dr. Gundlapalli, a 23-minute pre-recorded talk and Q&A by Sadhguru emphasizing skilling, responsibility, seeking truth, and managing faculties (avoid substance use), and a live debrief with guidance on mentee mindset, competencies vs competition, and practical next steps (set goals, network, seek mentors).

Good morning to everybody. Good afternoon to those who are joining from. From. From Southeast Asia. And welcome to Amrit Kal Mentors a, a movement that is inspired by the Developed India Mission by the government of India, which has a goal of seeing India to become a fully developed nation called Vikasit Bharat by 2047. Now, 2047 is when India will be celebrating its hundred years of 100 years of independence. And I am Dr. Ravishankar Gundlapalli, you know, from India and been living in the US for the last 34 years. But I proudly say my heart beats for India. So I'm really honored to be contributing back to the country at the right time, when all the conditions are right to put India.
On the global map as one of the top economies and top countries. What Indian government refers to as Vishwa Guru status that we once wear. So we'll talk more about it over the course of multiple sessions. So welcoming you all to the, to this launch of Amrit Kaal Mentors. Because Amrit Kaal means, you know, golden era. Kaal means time. Amrit means, you know, it is always evergreen. You know, the closest English word is nectar. So this is the golden era for the country. And what can make this era golden is the youth. So we're starting this on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. And I hope many of you or almost all of you know who Swami Vivekananda is. He has many, many interesting and very inspiring quotes. And which is the. And he's also considered the national mentor for the country because back in 1893, he actually traveled on ship to come to the United States and gave a very game changing, Inspiring Talk in 1893, 1893, almost 154 years ago at the World Parliament of Religions. And according to many, many scholars, that was the first time the true Indian spirit, the true power of India has been formally introduced to the West. And so we celebrate in India every January 12 as the National Youth Day as well. And one of the inspiring quotes that really, you know, reason why we chose today to launch Amrit Kaal Mentors is something that I also believe in. You know, I'm the founder and CEO of Mentor Cloud and I wanted to really find a way to bring the collective power of Indians within India and outside India. For India, think of this as Indians for Indians. And Swami Vivekananda has this very powerful quote that all the power is within you. You can do anything and everything that you set your mind to. You have to believe in that. And don't ever take anybody's statement that you are weak. You have to stand up and express the divinity which is the true energy. That we all have to be ourself to be whatever we want to be, if only if we set our heart and sight on our ultimate goal. There are many, many others that Swami has said. So really remembering Swami Vivekananda on this wonderful birth anniversary, as well as on this launch day of Amrit Kaal mentors. So today there was also a editorial from the government of India. I just want to highlight it because everybody's talking about you, each and every one of you on the session today. And those that are participating in sessions throughout the day. It's all about you. And I just want to highlight a paragraph from today's editorial. Thanks to my mentor, Ramesh G, for sharing this. The future of India is bright. It rests in the able hands of its youth, which is all of you all on the. On the sessions today. This resonates with the belief expressed by Swam Vivekananda in unlimited possibilities in youth energy. When he had said that give me 100 believing young men. Now when he said men, it is also meaning women because it was translated from the word purush. Purush means it refers to both men and women. So give me 100 strong Indians and I will transform India as the number one nation in the world. Now, being number one doesn't mean just be the largest country by economy, but being a good nation for the world, a nation that always wishes and works for prosperity for all. I have traveled all over the world and it's only in India that we say.
All the beings in all the world be happy. Not that may America be happy or may China be happy. So we're very unique. We're very unique in the way we think about the entire world. So again, remembering Swami Vivekananda and all the government initiatives, and our initiative is also for the youth of India. So I want to start with a video I've recorded.
Almost on the. On the Independence Day of India in. In 2024. I hope the. We see if the audio should be coming through.
Is the. Is the audio coming through, Alicia?
It is not really. Can you. Can you play once?
Okay, one second. I will. I will.
Where is the audio? Share sound. Okay.
I'm supposed to say share. Okay, once again. We'll come back to it.
Let me know if it plays out.
Yes, yes, it is playing now. Yes.
Okay. All right. So I want to share a video that I recorded on. On India's Independence Day when I first announced this Abditkaal mentors. So let's take a minute video.
My message to the Indian youth is to first develop a deep sense of pride about being Indian. India is blessed to be among one of the oldest civilizations. Rooted in some basic human values of Dharma, peace for the entire world, inclusivity and prosperity for all. Coming from such an amazing tradition that has lasted over 10,000 years if not more. In spite of so many occupations and conquerors, it is something to be extremely proud of. In the words of.
Sanjeev Sanyal, he said, India is not building an economy. India is rebuilding a civilization. Those words have really touched my heart. All of you are part of the rebuilding process. You should be involved in rebuilding not only our economy but also our civilization. India before the colonization had about 30% share of the world's GDP. Today we are less than 2%. So it's time to rebuild our economy. Which means every one of you should become successful, productive, skilled and a world class professional. And a citizen. India is providing lots of educational opportunities. India is opening hundreds of universities every month. But education alone is not enough. You need to build a strong sense of character. And you also need to have a mentor in your life who can guide you, who can open doors, who can expand your thinking. And who can open possibilities and really tell you where, when, what and how to do certain things. So having a guru is extremely important. But having a mentor is important. My message to the Indian youth is to really have the pride and look for mentors. Now who are those mentors? Those individuals who you admire. Those individuals who will take an active interest in your success. Who will be with you until your success is achieved. I have a personal story. One of my mentees approached me about 11 years ago. He is blind. His name is Srikanth Bella. And he had an aspiration to go to mit. And I had the honor to be his mentor. And today he is a successful entrepreneur after graduating from mit. And there is a biopic coming of his story in a few days. So that's what I would like each and every one of you, every Indian youth to think. Who can mentor me? At the same time as you are growing, who can I mentor as well?
Okay, very good. So I. I recorded that on Independence Day when I announced this. This initiative. So just wanted you to know, you know, why we do what we do. So just introduce Amrit Kaal mentors before we actually play the video that you know, Sadhguru and his office shared with us for this auspicious launch today. So amrit Kaal Mentors is actually a movement. We're going to include many, many partners from across the country, even outside the country who are all interested in mentoring and ensuring Indian youth are successful in their skills, in their leadership and so on. So our inspiration comes because next 22 years up until 2047 is very critical. And everyone on this session and sessions throughout the day, our wish is only one that you become successful, you make a lot of money and a lot of success and do it the Indian way. And again, you will learn more what that means. So starting today we are going to have several group mentoring sessions starting with Sadhguru and we have sessions on various aspects in very foundational, on the kinds of skills that you need to be sort of thinking about because some of you are in first year, second year college, some of the, some of you are in the final year. So what would the leaders look for? Mr. Ramesh Vaswani? We'll be talking about how to crack the code because you are actually applying for a job with several thousand others. So how do you differentiate yourself? How do you, you know, stand out? So throughout the day you will hear from several HR leaders, former CEOs, authors, and we'll end the day with unleashing your Shakti, which is the energy.
Which is what Vivekananda talks about. That Shakti is in inside us. You know, we don't depend on the outside. We depend on all the gifts that we already have to make the best versions of ourselves by, you know, joining sessions like this, by being open. So I just want to thank all the partners, POD AI that enabled all of the technology and all the.
Outreach to students, Bicom and Verbinden as our branded marketing partners. Josh Technologies, Algoshack, one of the founders, is on the call today and isbr one of the universities that has really said, hey, we are with you. We will do whatever it takes to bring the entire community together because the, you know, power is in the collective. Each of us individually may not be as strong as when we are together. Right? So that's really the idea of Amrit Kaal Mentors. So let me start with, you know, because we are using the word mentor, but I've also written a book so I want to just talk about, you know, my view of what mentor means. It is someone in your life or in your university, in your family who shares their knowledge and wisdom with a deep sense of care. We are not talking about bloggers. We are not talking about influencers who share their knowledge and wisdom. You know, on YouTube or other sources. But we are talking about people who really care about your success. And throughout the day and from here onwards we are only inviting those people who really care for your success. So a mentor who is someone who shares with a sense of care. Not the person who stands and just talks to a thousand people, but they have a care. They really want you to develop and grow and become the best versions of them of yourselves without having any difficulties. Then who is a mentee? Those of you who are on the call today are, you know, they are someone who trusts the knowledge. You know, sometimes you have to listen, right? It's very important to listen to somebody who has the experience and the wisdom. Definitely you feel empowered because there's so much information. There's AI, there's ChatGPT and so much. But human wisdom is very, very, very important. Everyone has, has someone who they go to. It could be their uncle, it could be their, the professor or somebody, their first manager. But it's not enough to just trust. Take action. When my mentor says, Ravi, here is a book I want you to read, I read, Here is somebody I want you to meet. I meet. If, if, if they say Ravi, you should, you should change your presentation to an investor. I do. The result comes only when you take action. That's why the mentee is somebody who trusts and. But doesn't stop there, but also takes action. So all of you that have attended this session and throughout the day you will have access to a free copy of my book. Because I would like all of you to have the simple tools and techniques so you become the best version of yourself. We don't need anything. We just want you to be successful. Because when you succeed, India succeeds. Right? So there are a few things that I want you to think about. This is actually part of the workshop that I do around the world. The first thing is when you are in this mindset of listening and sort of acting as a mentee, you get access to experiential knowledge. When you have Sanjeev, Sharon, Sadhguru and Ramesh Ji and everyone talking today, Geeta, they're giving their experiential knowledge that not something that they read in a book. So that's what you, you get when you, when you play, when you wear the hat of a mentee. And second, it's personalized, right? Especially when you work one on one. Whatever wisdom they're sharing, it is meant for you. It also builds relationships. You get to know your people. You get to build a relationship that they can refer you. They can be there for you throughout your career in life. It also expands possibilities because the network of your mentor will be much, much larger than your own network and what they have seen in their life will be much bigger. So it expands the world for you, it expands possibilities for you because that's when you can become the full version of yourself and achieve your full potential. And when I work with my mentors, I get advice that I can take an action on it. They're not giving me some generic formulas or something. They're giving me specific things that I can act on right away to get results. So there is a very selfish reason for all of you to have that mentee mindset. Because you have access to experience, you can ask specific questions. It opens up the whole world for you. Sometimes you can take action on their advice and you also get to know good people.
So why are we doing this again? Amrit Kal mentors, like I mentioned, it is for you. Our, our vision and our desire is that every Indian youth who works hard, who's, who has an aspiration, who's willing to work hard, we're not talking about people who want to, you know, spend time on social media or watch ipl. Nothing wrong with it as long as you, you, you maintain a certain balance. Because your time between the age 18 till about 30 is your prime time. There are lots of TED talks that I recommend you watch. You know, your 20s are your sort of your Amrit Kaal because once you're 30, you have other life demands that will restrain that, put constraints on what you can do. So this is the golden era for you. It's not only for India. Next 20 years is good for you. So how do you maximize it? How do you meet the right people? How do you spend time with the right kind of peers? How do you learn? How do you look at everything as an experience? And how do you continue to seek the best version of yourself? And of course we're doing this for a country we all love because it is time. We were once at 30, 35% in GDP and we are now back and we are on our way back because a powerful India is actually good for the world. And I can say this having traveled around the world, so what does the day look like.
After I'm going to be playing Sadhguru's video? He could not be here in person. He sends his best wishes and I had the privilege to actually work with him along with Dr. Velvelumani. And you will actually have a blast listening to them. Mr. Sanjeev Sharon who heads HR. So you'll have a perspective on what do they look for when they hire people. That's what you want. If I know what is expected of me, let's say, for example, I want to go to a country and they require a visa. I apply for the visa, be ready. I don't want to show up there and say, oh, I didn't know you need this. So you have HR leaders, former CEOs, like Ramesh.
Who will essentially tell you, what do they look for? Definitely. You might think, oh, if only I know Python, or if I know manufacturing or civil engineering or operations, I will get a job.
That is necessary but not sufficient. There is another aspect to it that I would like you to attend these sessions and listen, because what we look for is the full person. We want a team member.
And Navi being an author who I have known for many years. And Dr. Manish brings an academic perspective. How do you. Because you have four years, this is incredible time. You have access to educational resources, access to the Internet, access to faculty, access to alumni. But you have to really design your academic experience to make sure that you become extremely employable with the best placement in a company that you really enjoy working. And we'll end the day with Gita, who actually ran HR at Infosys for almost 18 years. And she brings the very unique perspective of unleashing your energy, unleashing your shakti. So we are starting the day remembering Swami Vivekananda's, you know, quote, that all the power is in you. And then Gita will tell us how to bring that power out. So we become employable, we become successful. We continuously learn and grow in our career, have healthy careers, strong careers, and, you know, good families and so on. Okay, so the first session of the day, we're going to play the video from Sadhguru. So just bear with me. You know, feel free to ask questions. We have our team who, who is monitoring and, and, and the last 15 minutes, we'll have, you know, time to answer some of your questions.
Okay, let me bring.
Alicia. Are there any questions? Anybody raise their hand before we play the video?
No. No questions as of now.
Perfect. Okay. All right.
Okay, wait, I need to make sure the audio comes through. Right.
Okay.
Okay, I think it's done.
Okay. If you cannot hear the audio, just alert me. Okay, so the. This is a 23 minute video. It has three sections. And. And first he. He sent me a Q and A that he has done recently. And then he has a very special message at the end, which I. Which Which I really, really liked as a sort of, you know, sets the tone for the day and I will discuss it at the end. So next 23 minutes, let's listen to Sadhguru. His quote, he said something very profound which is why I wanted him to be the first speaker. He said, if you don't skill a nation, you kill a nation. Let me repeat. If you don't skill a nation, you kill a nation. There are many nations in the world where the young people are not skilled. They don't have the right jobs, right opportunities and they're all not doing as well as what India is doing right now. So his statement is very, very important. Skilling is important and it comes from two inputs. One is your education and the other is mentorship to be able to make the best out of their education. Okay, so let's all listen to Sadhguru.
Sadhguru. When certain youngsters face problems or difficulties like failures, breakups, loss, etc. Few go for drugs or alcohol instead of solving the problem and finding solutions. So I want to know what is that one hope a person can cling on to even when he is fully shattered from within.
So many broken hearts here who are clapping their hands.
So.
When he is fully shattered, what can he do? The question is, do you want to allow yourself to be fully shattered? That's a question.
And many things that don't work out in your early life you will see later on. It is a great blessing.
There are many ways to look at this. Let me tell you this. This happened in 1941. This is just when the Nazi movement was building up in Germany and in some parts of Europe. So one day in Austria, a bunch of German soldiers came, broke into the homes. The Jewish family, a rich family. They broke the home and took away. The adults, took everything, was robbed. And these two children, a 12 year old girl and a 8 year old boy were taken away. They were taken to a railway station. Everybody got in and the little boy and the girl also got in. But the little boy forgot to wear his shoes. He left his shoes outside and they pushed him into the wagon. So without shoes he came. His sister, a 12 year old girl, saw her kid brother coming without shoes and she got mad with him. She held him by the ear, boxed his ears, scolded him nicely, slapped him, say you idiot, already we are in enough trouble. Now you come without shoes because in Germany in winter no shoes means you may lose your feet. So she's angry about that. In the next station, the boys and girls were separated.
After four Years after the war was over, she came out of the concentration camp to find 17 members of her family, including her little brother. All had vanished. No records, no sign of them. They just evaporated. At that time.
The only thing that bothered her was the last few things that she said to her little brother. She loves her brother. But the last few things that she said to him were such terrible things, it rang in her mind and troubled her. So she took a vow.
If I speak to anybody in my life, I will speak in such a way. If this is my last word, I will not regret.
This. One thing transformed her life in such a way. She went on to United States. She died in 2006. She did some phenomenal work, built a hospital somewhere near Chicago. I think.
She lived a fruitful life. I'm saying, even if you put through the most horrible situations, either you can come out using that experience as a better human being, or you can use the experience to become a horrible mess. So whenever something hurts you, there are two options. You can either become wounded or you can become wise. This is the choice. The more things hurt you early on in your life, the wiser you should have become, isn't it? But unfortunately, most people become wounded. This is simply because they just need an excuse to turn their own intelligence against themselves. That's all. Especially if the world around you turn turns against you. Is it not very, very important that your intelligence stands up for you?
But being in this hyper competitive environment, I sometimes question myself.
Should I be more competitive?
Those who.
Do not have any sense of their own competence will become competitive.
Because their only pleasure is being one step ahead of somebody else.
Because why I'm saying this to you is being better than somebody. If it's a pleasure for you, you enjoy other people's failures. I call that sickness. This is not sickness.
You as a life, you want to be at your fullest. You have a right to be every life in creation. From a worm, insect, bird, animal, even a plant and tree, all striving to their best, isn't it? You also. But why are you concerned whether somebody is behind you? Why is that so pleasurable for you that somebody else else is less than you? From early kindergarten levels, this sickness has been brought into human mind which is causing so much unpleasantness on the planet. Such ugly situations everywhere. But we don't seem to learn. We call this education, we call this competition, we call this society. No very stupid way of handling things. Because the important thing is for what you have come with, will you blossom to the fullest human Being or not, this is the only question. This doesn't need anything other than constantly nourishing the atmosphere. Not even the person. If you want a plant to grow, you don't do anything to the plant. You just take care of the soil, the atmosphere, the ambience. That's all that needs to be taken care of, even for a human being. That you need to take care of the atmosphere so that everybody finds the fullest expression for their life.
This is the most common thing amongst us young people. Marijuana, alcohol, bad habits. It's pushed onto us from pop culture. What do we do?
This question is everywhere. Youth in India are asking me all the time, sadhguru, you have influence in the government. Why don't you make marijuana legal for us? I said, why marijuana? I'll make cocaine also legal. You want meth? We'll make that also legal. What's the problem?
The problem is just this. So I asked them.
See, let me take you. You know I'm a licensed pilot, so. Not me. But we'll get another pilot for you on a small plane. We'll take you on a nice ride. But the pilot comes smoked up.
You want to fly?
No. They don't say no. They say, ah.
Because they think by smoking they're flying.
Then I say, okay, you're not getting it.
You need a major surgery. And the surgeon comes really smoked up. You want this surgery? Oh, no. So you understand. It lowers your faculties. If you lower your faculties, your life gets lowered or high.
Lowered. So never use the word high again.
You say, I smoke, then I'm low.
This is. This is not a moral issue for me. I have no morality in me. But life should work, isn't it?
Suppose my eyes become dim. Do I live better? I'm asking, hello. If my mind becomes dim, do I live better?
Why do people think by lowering faculties life gets high? Now it doesn't. It's just giving you an illusion like that for which you will pay a price. At this stage in your life, you must look for those things which will heighten your faculties, not lower your faculties, isn't it?
If you're interested, you come, I'll show you. Look at my eyes. I'm always stoned.
Yes, look at me. Never touch the substance. Because the greatest chemical factory on the planet is here. Hello.
The question is only whether you're ecstatic or anxious is determined by are you a good manager of this one or are you a lousy manager? That's all that is determining this. If you're a lousy manager, you're importing chemicals from outside. If you're a good manager, you're conducting this the way you want and blissed out all the time.
Despite being surrounded by so many people, we still lack that feeling of belonging to somebody, being accepted by somebody, being loved by somebody. How should we deal with that? Discontent and loneliness, what you call as.
Joy is one kind of chemistry. Misery is another kind of chemistry. Stress is one kind of chemistry. Chemistry. Anxiety, another kind of chemistry. Agony, One kind of chemistry. Ecstasy, Another kind of chemistry. At least Ecstasy, you know. It's another kind of chemistry, I hear.
So your experience of life has a chemical basis to it? Right now, let's say you really blissed out like me. Do you care who is around, who is not around? If they're around, it's fantastic. They're gone. Fantastic.
Because your experience of life is no more determined by what you have and what you don't have. Whether it's people or things or food or this or that, it is not determined by that. Once your way of being is not determined by anything outside of you, then there is no such thing as loneliness. But you will enjoy your aloneness. Because whether you like it or you don't like it, at this young age, it's a little difficult to understand this. Whether you like it or you don't like it, within this body, you're always alone, isn't it? Whether you do interaction or intercourse or whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Still you're alone in this body. Yes or no? Hello. Yes.
If you don't learn how to handle this aloneness, you have not learned anything about life. This is the most beautiful thing.
The most beautiful thing about life is nobody can get here. It's just my space. Yes or no? Isn't this the most beautiful thing? Nobody can invade me. They can capture me. They can torture me. They can do so many things, but they cannot invade me. Because I have a space which is just my own. Isn't this the most wonderful aspect of your life? Don't suffer that. That is the most beautiful thing.
Very often in lives we come across crossroads where we are compelled to choose between two options which were equally pleasing. When I'm at such a stage, what should I be doing?
See, we must understand this.
People are always thinking when it comes to education, career, choice of partners, marriage.
At various points. What is the best thing to do?
Let me tell you. There is no best thing to do in the world.
Really. There's no best thing to do. Even if you take a very simple thing and put everything that you have into it. If you throw yourself into it, it could become a great thing. Is it the best thing? No, there is no best thing. Because how do you decide what is best? What I am doing is best or what you're doing is best? There's no such thing.
Is spiritual process the best thing or chemical engineering the best thing? It'll be foolish even to ask that question. Isn't is just that if you throw your life into something it can become a great thing.
So don't look for best things. Because you'll waste your life always wondering what's the best thing. People come to me. They've been married for 35 years, have three, four children. Sadhguru. I don't know if I made the right choice. I said well it looks like you've been not been thinking, you've been acting four children.
So till the end of your life you can go on thinking what is the best thing? What is the best thing? There is no best thing. Whatever we put our heart and soul into and do it, it's a great thing. It may be a simple thing in somebody else's eyes but. But in our experience it's a great thing. And that's what we should do.
Identify.
Yeah, I am Sandeep Kalra.
There is a. There is a police woman. You must identify yourself.
My question is with something which I had experienced. We have a small ngo. We started that to enable people so that they can live well. So we employed some boys who were the sons of these maids and drivers. We taught. We told them that you can't come. We will teach you how to work on CNC machines. Those boys, they came for two days and third day they didn't turn up. We asked them why you are not coming up. They say.
My hands become black.
And this is what is happening. That after education, all parents, even including myself, I want my child not to do a hand, hand work. He should be an officer. He should sit in the office or he should be in the ac. Now this is something where the erosion has happened. I would like your insight on this.
I think I kind of addressed this in the beginning. Our idea of education is entirely English. Unfortunately everybody is going to the university for what? We have to live in this universe, not in a university. Okay.
Right now this is a serious thing happening in the country. I do not know if these laws are across the nation but at least in Tamil Nadu because there were children dropping out of the school. The government passed a law a few years ago saying that you cannot fail a child till he reaches 9th standard. So from 1st standard to 9th standard is free pass.
This was done misplaced compassion. Because if you fail him at third standard then he will go back home. He won't come back and sit in the same class again. So let him somehow continue. Good intention. But today you have millions of youth who are 14, 15 years of age, who wear pants, who have the attitude of the educated but don't know education. They can't add two plus two, but they have the attitude of the educated. Now they can't go back to the farm and work with their father. They can't learn carpentry, which if their father is a carpenter or a blacksmith or whatever. You are CNC machine. Now we are creating this youth. This is a dangerous thing. Youth without purpose is a dangerous possibility. Always. So our idea of education has to change. Why is it that everybody has to go to school? I do not believe in this compulsory education thing at all. Why is it that everybody has to go to school? We have to make a law. By the time you're 18, everybody must be tested. You must have some skill, otherwise you must join the army or do something.
Some skill. You must be able to do something with your hands or your brains. If you have no skill, you must go for two years of some kind of compulsory training. It could be, you know, semi armed forces, it could be police, it could be some other industrial training, whatever kept there for two years and trained in every country. In many countries who want to come up, well, they have two years of compulsory army training. Ours need not be necessarily military training. It could be industrial training, it could be something else. But compulsory. They must go through by 18. If they don't have a skill or they are not progressing towards their academic capabilities, they must compulsorily go. If you don't skill the nation, you will kill the nation.
When we say youth, we are talking about a life which is still in the making.
Which is still in a state where it is not too conceited and lost.
A life which suggests hope. A life which suggests seeking and wanting and longing to know life and the truth about life. When I say truth about life, the word truth has been used in so many ways. When we say truth, most people think it's some otherworldly stuff.
I want you to look at it this way. What truly works is truth in any sphere of life. You want to walk in, is it better to walk on your feet or is it better to use your head to walk? You want to walk on your head? No, you will end up being bald. It's not a good way to walk. Feet are better like this. I'm making it truly simplistic for you. But this is the essence of what truth means in different dimensions of life. What is it that really works?
Seeking. This is seeking for truth. This is a culture. We as a nation, this Bharat has been a culture which has always been a land of seekers, never a land of believers. Essentially what this means is this. Either you have assumptions about everything, you have concretized ideas about everything, or you are willing to seek what is the truth about any aspect of life because you are interested that it happens in the best possible way. Now we have a fortune on our hands that nearly 50% of India's population is below 25 years of age. No nation on the planet has this fortune right now. But to make this into a true fortune and not a disaster, the youth should become seekers of truth. Not getting adhired to some ideology, some belief system, some philosophy. No, you must be seekers of truth. This is what being youth means. That you are not willing to settle for false things. You want to find out what is it that really works on the level of your body? What is it that works on the level of your mind? What is it that works on the level of your emotion? What is it that works on the level of your life energy? What is it that works on the level of your relationship with the rest of the world? What is it that works in every sphere of life? What is it that works at its best and allows this life to function in its ultimate possible way? If this search and this seeking is given up, then you are no more youth. You have become old. You have settled preparing for the grave. You have settled down. Which year were you born does not decide whether you are youth or old. Have you made conclusions about life? Or are you still open and longing and seeking to know the nature of life? This is what makes you either youthful or old. It is important that every life stays youthful. Every, especially youth of this nation and the world. It is very, very important. You are seekers of truth. It is time. It is time. The populations of this world, particularly the youth, move from religion to responsibility. What you make out of your life is 100% your responsibility. It is not the responsibility of the stars or the planets or the powers above you. It is in your hands to create this life the way you want it. This is the fundamental of being youthful. That you are willing to take responsibility for everything that you are. You have not become a vain life. Who is looking up at the stars as to why Am I miserable? Why am I not successful? Why is my life not beautiful? You are not looking up. You are willing to look inward and seek answers. That means you're in pursuit of truth. Youth must be seekers of truth. Only then they will remain youthful. If you make conclusions, if you identify with belief systems, philosophies, ideologies, you will become old when you are young. We must be able to produce millions of youth who are truly committed to know what is the truth of our our existence? What is the truth about our success?
What.
What is the truth about our failures? What is the truth about the beautiful aspects of our life? What is the truth about the ugliness of our life? If you do not seek, then you are not a youth. Don't become old when you are young.
Okay? Wow.
I would love to hear some of your comments before we wrap up this session. Truly humble pranams to Sadhguru for this last section of the video was done exclusively for this to really set the stage for each and every one of you to be seekers. Seekers of truth, like he said, seekers of opportunities, seekers of mentorship, seekers of figuring out what is working, what is not working. The world is not against you. The world is for you. So if something doesn't happen, it happens to me as an entrepreneur, it happened to me when I was doing my PhD that things didn't happen the way I wanted it to be. But rather than blaming everybody else like Sadhguru says, look at the stars or the planets, I look at what have I done. In fact, there is a beautiful book called the Mindset. There is a fixed mindset where we expect the world to work for us. We expect that everything to fall in, fall in line for us. And that's the other mindset is the growth mindset where we focus on the efforts. When I failed my exam, it is not because I had a very tough professor or my astrology was not good. It was because I didn't prepare the way I'm supposed to prepare. So focusing on the efforts, so seeking really is what being young means. It's all about continuously learning, continuously being willing to take criticism.
The five tips are very, very important. It's not competition, it's about competence. So focus on your competencies. Because as you will learn throughout the day, people with competencies will get jobs. People with competencies will build great companies. People with competencies, whatever it is, it could be agriculture, it could be jewelry making, it could be civil engineering, it could be computer science. You will become successful. So focus on competencies, not competition. Was Another interesting insight that I picked up. So we'd love to hear your comments, Alicia.
Yeah. Thank you so much for your insightful thoughts as well as a great video message from Sadhguru. We'll keep the next five minutes for the Q A sessions, and participants can ask their questions or queries in the Q and A tab. We'll keep it open for you and please do share your thoughts in the chat as well about the session.
Okay.
Are we looking for.
Saying that he loves the thoughts and feels it's a lot more clearer.
What about others? What is. What is one. One key takeaway. How about that? One key takeaway that. That you picked up from today?
It.
I think somebody said, you know, just be yourself. I think it's. It's very important because ultimately, you know, there is a very good quote by Oscar Wilde that said, you know, just be yourself. Everybody else is taken. Because if I want to be Alicia, Alicia is taken. I cannot be Alicia, nor you can be Ravi. So that's what Oscar. Oscar said in a beautiful talk. We all have to be unique. Unique in our own ways to approach work, to approach the problems and the challenges that you face. And so our uniqueness is actually very beautiful thing, which Sadhguru also talked about. Rajesh says, be a seeker to stay young, because the day you stop seeking, that means you have essentially settled, which is something Sadhguru also uses, you know.
And great start to Amrit Kal mentors launch. Thank you, Sesha.
Yeah. Live to the fullest potential. Because that's the key. Next 22 years, when we call it Amrit Kaal, that means if each of us really, you know, allocate as much time, especially those of you in the 20s. And I still feel 20 today, but those of you in your age, wise 20s should start looking at what can I do to maximize the next 10, 15 years to really learn to surround yourself with the right people and so on.
So somebody asked a question. They sent a private message, Alicia. So where do I begin? Everything is very good. Where do I begin? So I think that that's a very important question because today we definitely are all inspired by Sadhguru's words. And you will have lot more inspiring insights from the speakers throughout the day. But where to begin is to really look at in a year, two years from now, if you have a dream job in a particular organization, or if you want to go for an internship in a particular company, or if you want to pursue mba, or if you want to travel abroad for higher studies, whatever that is, write down that goal today and then start working backwards, you know, start talking to people. Hey, that's where I want to go. Because we do this very well. Recently I was in Ayodhya, so I talked to people who have been to Ayodhya who can tell me what airline to take, what taxi to go, where to stay and all of that. So life is like that. Ask people who have been there, done that, find those people around you. They are all around you, but they won't come to you. You have to go to them.
You know, there was another quote that my very good friend Christy Halley once told me, that serendipity works only for fertile mind. Serendipity in English they say it is luck. But if you sit inside in your sofa and watching tv, don't expect a future employer to knock on your door and say, hey, here's your offer letter. It doesn't work like that. Serendipity works for a fertile ground. That means you have to be out there networking, applying, meeting people, talking to them, sharing your in, you know, your goals and aspirations. And that is when the right person who can, you know, give up the who can make that opportunity possible way will appear. They won't come to you. You need to go to them.
Okay, there's another question.
Another question from Gunjan.
Yeah. Please read.
Yeah. Key takeaways that put your heart and soul to. Whatever you do, still yourself up. So whatsoever be the outside situation, make yourself blissful and you will be able to handle it with much more ease. Do not suffer the outside environment. I think it's a not a question. I think it's a key takeaway that he has typed out. That's very, really beautiful.
Yeah, it is very beautiful, right? Whatever be saw on the outside, make it. Make it because. Because as Sadhguru said very clearly, right? You either be wounded or become wise, right? It's a very beautiful way. You know, both words start with a W. So let's not be wounded. Life is about becoming wiser from every interaction, every experience, every moment, right? Today we have to be wiser than yesterday, right? That's why everywhere, whether it is a success or whether it is success that you didn't expect, like a failure, because failure is really, there's nothing like failure in life. It is a result that you didn't expect. That's about it, right? There's nothing called failure. So let's wrap up. So Alicia, who's coming next?
So we have Dr. Velmoney session next and I hope all the attendees will be joining that as well, much more insightful and very thought provocative session is waiting for all of you at 1050. Yes, that's about it. And thank you so much for all the participants for joining this session. I know it's very hard to be present in a Sunday morning, but you all took that grace to be in the confidence conversation and paving way for your future. Thank you so much for that.
Yeah. I want to end this with one thing, right? Because there are, you know, few people that, that, that decided to do this. We invited over a million people. Now this is how you, you, you really stand out by really by taking time to do things others are not doing. That is how you really, you know, build competencies. Right? There are so many people who could have been here. But those of you who chose to be here, this will change the direction of your career. I can guarantee it. I will guarantee it. So we will end the session now. And there is a separate link, separate registration. There are hundreds of people who have registered for the other session. Dr. Velumani Aroke Swami, one of the greatest entrepreneurs India has produced. And he has kindly consented to speak today. And he will be speaking about what? Alicia?
Just a second, Ravi, just a second. Am I okay?
That was a quiz for you. He's speaking about the essentials of being an entrepreneur, right? The essential of being entrepreneur. What does it take to be an entrepreneur? Now, when Sadhguru talked about take charge of your life as an entrepreneur, I am charge of my own destination. So each of us, my good mentor Prasad Kaipa says, you are the CEO of your life. So let's hear from Dr. Arakeswamy. What does it mean to be a CEO of your life or a CEO of your company? So with that, namaste, we'll see you on the other session.
