Hey, Rebeccah. Hello. I am so honored to be a guest on Beverly Explains It All. Let's break it down. Let's give it to them straight and let's have some fun.
Thank you, girl. I mean, I was just so shocked when we met up. Rebeccah happened to be in town for— it was a retreat, right? Like my, my neck of the woods, out of the blue.
10 minutes from you. Beautifully orchestrated.
It's like out of control. I mean, I feel like that's God.
Absolutely. It was so lovely to have some coffee with you, meet you in person.
It was dope. And I loved your nails. I'm going to have to put those on IG because her nails are fierce.
Here's the nails for today.
Gorgeous.
Yeah, I got a little nails and the lips.
Woman after my heart, let me tell you. So, Rebeccah, on my show, I love to just start with like an icebreaker game. Usually it's just a quick 10-question, you know, top of your head, yes/no questions. If you feel like you need to expand, feel free. You down?
Okay. Yeah, I'm down. Let's go.
Perfect.
All right.
Do you believe in aliens?
I hate aliens. I don't even want to talk about aliens. I really— I will talk about anything but aliens.
Girl, I'm with you. I'm with you. I do believe life is out there, but I'm scared.
So no, thank you. I'm an alien.
Have you ever been on a blind date?
I've been on like online dating apps and, you know, met the person kind of blind, but I don't think I've ever been on someone set up a blind date.
Okay, like you swipe right and that was that kind of thing?
Yeah, I had a little moment after my divorce where I experimented with some online dating.
Yeah, that's actually how I met my husband, by the way.
It's how I became a life coach. I met a guy in 2008 on a dating app that was a life coach, and I was like, well, what's that? And he invited me to my first seminar, and the rest is—
that's wild! Look at that. All right, do you sing in the shower?
Oh yes, I used to be in the Denver Opera Company. I sing. A lot.
I didn't know that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't talk about it much, but yep. I sing in German.
Oh my God. I'm not going to put you on the spot, but like later, me and you, I want to hear a little something something.
All right. I can serenade you.
Thank you. Do you believe it's important to take risks?
Absolutely. But educated risks. I take very educated risks and I recommend if you're going to take risks, live your life, but be informed and educated.
So smart. Do you like pineapple on pizza?
No, but I love pineapple. My 9-year-old— pineapple pizza.
Oh my God. Yeah, I can't do the pineapple on pizza, but I love pineapple too.
Okay.
Have you ever met a celebrity?
I've met, yes, especially in the personal growth arena. I've, I've met some celebrities.
Care to share your favorite?
You know, one of my favorite humans is Anthony Trucks. He's a good friend and I'm so grateful for him. He used to be in the NFL, got injured, and then at the same time he left the NFL, his wife cheated on him and they ended up getting divorced. And the story is magic because they decided to do the deep healing work. And I am a self-healing and relationship expert, so I got to interview him and just go there. What did it take to reinvent and heal that relationship so they ultimately could get married again? So I love Anthony.
Oh my God, that's incredible. We're definitely gonna do it. We're gonna dive into more of that healing work because just that story alone, I'm like, wow. Yeah, wow. Do you believe that happiness is a choice?
I do, and my definition of happiness is emotional freedom. So when you have a healthy relationship, I teach there are only 5 emotions anger, fear, grief, joy, and excitement. And happiness to me is a healthy relationship with all 5 of those emotions. So joy and excitement can be the rule you live by. And I've found— and I'll just plant the seed for all of you gorgeous listeners— that when I don't have resistance to the darker emotions, I can be moving through anger, fear, or grief and happy at the same time.
God, there's so much work to be done there because it's hard, you know? That is really diving into yourself. Do you believe that people can change?
I know it. I see it every day. But they have to want it. 'Cause there's 3 different places we can be. I don't want anything to do with growth, transformation, or change. I'm very happy in ignorance is bliss land. And I don't mean that judgmentally. It's just there are certain people that prefer to keep life as it is. And to me, it's easier. It's easier. The illusion is it's easier.
Yeah, right.
It seems easier, and it just keeps life really small. So then there are the people that want it, but they're not willing to commit to doing deep work so that their inner world is free fully expressed, and they're experiencing life however they want, right? So wanting it without commitment, I think, is the definition of hell, because I understand so much, but then I'm not willing to do the work to transform. There are a lot of people stuck there. And then I coach what I like to lovingly call the emotional billionaires that want it, but more than that, they're unwilling to not have it. They're unwilling to not actualize it. They're unwilling to not commit to being who and what it takes to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be emotionally. Because that really is the game changer of all game changers. When we're emotionally well and free and clear, we get so much peace, we get joy and excitement as the rule we live by, and we get so much time. People ask me all the time, how do you do a decade's worth of work every single year of your life? And I really do. Like, if you don't talk to me for a week, You missed a lifetime. Wow. I'm emotionally clear, so I have time. And that's what happens with my clients too, you know.
And I think that's what everyone strives for, you know. We all want more time.
So, wow, healing, baby, it's where it's at. That sounds good to me. Yeah, but it's scary because when our survival self starts to die, when you take on the practice of emotional healing. I make it really simple. I wrote a book. I have a roadmap for you. I have a guide. Here's the step-by-step if you want the how-to after Beverly and I explain it all and break it down for you. But what I'll plant a seed about is that, you know, it really can, when we start to take on our emotions and what our survival self is trying to convince us is safer for us, That's why we think it's easier to not go there, even though it isn't. When you start to let go and shed the skin of who you're not so you can step into who you are, it can feel like you're going to die or like you're dying. And nobody tells you that part. And that's why so many people stay stuck, because it feels like if they pursued emotional liberation, they're making everything worse. And I also teach this concept of high-functioning unhappiness where we can be high-functioning and of service and unhappy, but we think if we pursue happiness, A, it's not real, and B, it would jeopardize the high-functioning part of our life. So let my voice just be the voice that says, let's threaten the unhappiness so that you get to keep the high-functioning part of your life. And it isn't going to kill you to take this work on. It's going to You know, this might sound a little harsh, but to be dramatic, to prove a point, it will require you killing off giving yourself permission to be in survival if you want to be free. But we're not killing off that version of you. We're just putting it to bed, putting it in timeout in the corner, letting it go play and be free, because survival you has no business running your life.
Okay, is that desperation?
Well, it's just It's an illusion and it's a myth that you being who you think the world needs you to be is going to serve you. It's going to kill your spirit.
I'm taking that in because it's the truth, you know. Man, that was so, so deep. Just one more question here. Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
You know, I don't. I believe that regardless of circumstance, I have an opportunity to be my best and to make the best of the moment. So I have a lot of faith and a lot of trust. And I'm a cancer survivor, as you're aware. But for those of you meeting me for the first time, I beat cancer with a 5% chance to live. I got diagnosed while I was pregnant with the 9-year-old who likes pineapple on her pizza. I got diagnosed 7 months pregnant, given a 5% chance to live. And I don't think cancer happened for a reason, but I do think in the face of cancer, I got to meet myself. I got to practice what I teach on a whole new level. Because I had the thought, well, it's easy to be my best when I've got this amazing marriage. My life is magically delicious on all fronts. I'm healthy. My business is thriving. I'm booked out 6 months. I sell out every retreat I do. My older child was doing well when I got diagnosed. I'm pregnant again. I'm married. You know, it felt like a cruel joke, but it also occurred to me, Rebeccah, it's really easy to be the best of who you are when life is Perfect. How about now in the face of cancer? Who you gonna be now? Okay. And it was such a seminar because all I had control over was regulating my emotions, being clear emotionally so I could connect to my spirit and what I call God to guide me. And I think without emotional healing, without emotional clarity, I really would be dead. So I don't think everything happens for a reason, but I do think everything that's happening is not more powerful than me. And my ability to stay true to me in any and all moments, that's mastery.
I mean, that's beautiful because in those moments of just like lostness and just being probably like the lowest of the low, to be able to like— how did you get there? How did yourself— how did you get closer to God? How did you just start to learn your true self and trust your true self?
Well, the first step in what I teach when I, when I call it the practice of emotional healing, it really is about this word commitment. And you know, nobody, none of you actually have commitment issues. So let's just start there. We think we have commitment issues, but we're always at choice, whether we realize it or not, we're always at choice and we're always committed to the choices we're making. So the practice of emotional healing starts with a commitment to your life. So where I started was living like I was going to live. And not identifying as sick or dying and recognizing all of the work that I had already done. It just needed to be plugged into the moment I found myself in. And I see it so often where people, they'll literally say to me, Rebeccah, I just, I'm not ready to rock the boat. So things aren't bad enough yet. Okay. I bless you into your future, but holy shit with the faulty thinking, right?
Right.
You do not need a breakdown to break through. And I think, you know, my story is wild. Again, I can't recommend Coming Back to Life: A Roadmap to Heal from Pain to Create the Life You Want enough if you want those nuggets of the how. I go deep on that here in the book. But, you know, there's never a good time to take on your life, and there's never a good time to be fully true to yourself, risking— back to your question in the icebreaker about risk, other people not getting it, not supporting you, walking away from you. But you do not need a breakdown to breakthrough. And you don't need to wait for a crisis. And my story, I think, is so wild. And I go deep into it in the book. Because I had all this childhood trauma, I grew up in domestic violence. Education wasn't enough to break the pattern, to break the cycle. I had a master's degree in counseling. I had a 4.0 GPA because I'm a good little student, but I still found myself in a domestic violence marriage with a 2-year-old. My first baby saved my life, had me get out of a domestic violence situation for her because I didn't have it in me to do it for me. Second baby saved my life, getting diagnosed with cancer. But during cancer, I realized who I became prior to cancer was the healed Rebeccah Silence. So it wasn't me in trauma experiencing post-traumatic stress when I was sick. It was me doubling down on the practice of emotional healing, screaming when I needed to scream, crying when I needed to cry, letting myself laugh, letting myself make the most of each moment, not because I'm Miss Toxic Positivity, but because why not? And I was living like I was going to live the whole time, knowing very well I might not, but I didn't identify as sick or dying. I identified as healthy, healed, and whole. And I knew the healed me was in charge of the mission called my life. And the more I could be emotionally clear, the more I could hear my own spirit and my own voice, and the more I could hear God's guidance. Wow.
I mean, that's incredible. You just like knocked out two of the top questions I even wanted to like ask you or talk to you about. Just to further like dive into, if you don't mind, like I understand what you've been through, the domestic violence with your ex-husband, child abuse, addiction. I mean, these are all incredibly difficult situations, and I just wanted to know if you could kind of explain how those experiences just shaped your journey into finding purpose and just living your best life today, because you are thriving.
Thank you. I am, and I'm so grateful, and I feel like right now my life is just frosting from here on out. I'm on divine assignment. I feel like I shouldn't even be here. So, you You know, and I literally, I get chills as I share this. You know, I think I'll work backwards. So today, what I know for sure is there's no case anybody's gonna put in front of me that's gonna be too much for me. I really look at it like my life has been a series of miraculous events to prepare me to coach any case, any trauma, any emotional stuckness, any trigger, any pattern that you know doesn't serve you anymore and isn't your fault, but you're still a vibrational match for something that you're ready to level up and, and beat and conquer. You know, there's just no case that's too much for me, for the people that want to do the work. And I kind of specialize in helping people in my VIP private practice heal what they believe is impossible. I don't kind of, I do. So my life has given me so much evidence that healing is possible. Healing is possible. It's not promised, but it's possible. So I really believe all of what I've been through has prepared me to be here for all of you at the highest levels, regardless of your circumstances. I know your circumstances aren't more powerful than you, and that you have what you need to emotionally heal so that you don't need anything outside of you to be different or anyone to be different for you to be okay. Growing up, I was just so clear, we have more choice than we're owning. Why are we not choosing to be better? Why are we not owning our impact in our ripple and being careful with people? I was listening to Kesha last night in the cars, Here Comes the Change. And if you haven't heard that song, Here Comes the Change, you know, It's so beautiful. And I feel like even at 4 years old, when my memory of my abuse really started, I knew there had to be a better way, that we could choose better, that we could care about our impact on humanity. And the people that I loved didn't get that. So I felt crazy. And for all of you listening, if you're here with us this long already, I'm going to suggest you're the generational healer in your family. And that— that you have all this responsibility on your shoulders. That doesn't mean pressure. It just means what you saw as possible growing up is. It's just we can't get anybody else to change. You can create it for you now as an adult. So that's what happened for me. I knew better. I couldn't do better until I had the emotional chops to navigate all of these false beliefs about myself, false identities, believing I was too much, believing I was too sensitive, believing if I let myself cry, I would die because it would never stop because the grief was so deep, you know, and none of it was true. And I could go on and on and on. But what I'll say is my childhood showed me how much of an impact we have and how dangerous it is when we don't own that and take responsibility for it. And I just wanted to be someone that left the world better than I found it, that made lives better. And without me having to be God, I can radiate my highest vibration, and then that's enough. And the people that want a modeling of possibility that's healed and unshakably whole and light and free, they benefit from me being in their presence. And those committed to the dark, I am going to be the last person they want to see. Or face, and I've just gotten comfortable with my best is enough. And my agenda is never to get anybody to change. It's to help those that want to break through so they can be free, so their past isn't running their lives and they're no longer fighting with the ghosts of their past day in, day out. Even if they've kicked people to the curb, if you haven't healed the pattern, the triggers are like whack-a-mole. The patterns are like whack-a-mole. They just keep coming. Right? So you can leave jobs, you can leave, you know, relationships, you can leave states. I used to think I had all these commitment issues because my dog that I loved so much, the first thing I ever committed to on purpose was Kayla, a Rottweiler mix that I rescued. And that dog moved 10 different times with me, 3 different states with me, multiple relationships. But I was committed to running away, so I wasn't not committed, right? But when you know You have it in you to break any cycle, heal any trauma, let yourself let go of any pattern that doesn't serve you anymore. You know, it's a powerful place to be. And then not everybody's gonna get it, not everybody's gonna accept it, not everybody's gonna validate you. And I just lovingly suggest a 'so what' attitude, because you're living in a way where you're trying to fit in there are no real relationships in your life because the people in your life aren't relating to you. They're relating to you acting out a part. And I know you're an actress, it isn't authentic or aligned at all. So might as well get really real, really free, really you, so you know who's aligned, right? And what's aligned.
I mean, your authentic true self.
Yes, because you deserve a life that fits in with you, not a life where you're trying to fit in.
100%. I mean, fear is so powerful. It can often get in the way when people are trying to pursue their purpose. What strategies do you have or can you suggest for people to overcome fear and just step into their authentic self?
Yeah, and I do have a chapter called The Purpose in the book that really will break this down more. But what I want you to consider consider around purpose because this can be such a heavy word and a heavy term and a heavy conversation, right? So what if your purpose is just to live in joy and experience joy and the truth of who you are and the love that you are? What if your only job is to be as you as possible with the volume turned all the way up on the truth of who you are? And what if you don't need to wait for some crazy breakdown or crisis or mortality motivation. No rock bottom to show up, right? You know, I've got several relatives in 12-step programs, and I've heard along the way, you can pick your bottom. And I can— you can decide to decide. That's how I describe it, because I like that disempowerment. You know, we don't have to scare ourselves into growth. But we can decide to decide to live. Yes. And to let our best be enough. And it's that simple. It's not easy, but it's that simple, Beverly.
That's, that's the way I think everybody wants to live, you know, just being yourself, knowing your best is good enough, like you said. Man, I wanted to dive into a little bit, as in your work as a human behavior specialist and an emotional healing coach, how do you heal families or how do you help families heal from trauma and help set healthy boundaries? Because I know that's a big one.
Yeah, so let's just talk about trauma as heartbreak. Let's start there. Let's look at my specialty as a self-healing and relationship expert in helping you heal your love trauma more than anything else. So nobody is immune to what I call love trauma. No one's not been heartbroken.
True.
So what happens is we associate without meaning to love with heartbreak. So if I pursue love, I'm inevitably going to be heartbroken. So why would I put myself out there? And I think the number one thing that people want is love. The number one correct answer to what do you want to be when you grow up is loved. But people don't answer that way because they're afraid, right? We're so afraid of intimacy, emotions. Intimacy. My soul being naked and bare and presented to you is really scary. And I hear all the time— my chiropractor bought my book, I didn't know, and was just saying to me yesterday, I can't believe how honest you are.
I love it.
He's like, I cannot believe how honest you are in this.
Need that.
Yes, in the world, right? But to me, why not? So healing through your love trauma means Letting go of all of the ways that you guard yourself against heartbreak, letting go of self-protection mode altogether. And in every family, there are different inherited ways of avoiding heartbreak and doubling down on the love trap. Some families, it's addiction. Some families, it's sexual abuse. Some families, it's affairs. Some families, it's gambling. Some families, it's workaholism. And there's lots of different flavors, right? It's not one flavor per family. It's a smoothie with all kinds of ingredients, and you get to pick and choose what you want to keep, what you want to— wait a minute, I don't need this in my life anymore. This isn't good for me. This isn't serving me. But I just want us to understand that love never hurt you. Unhealed people did. Wow.
I'm like, this is art. I know this is speaking to so many different people because I'm just thinking of some of my friends in my life where I'm like, I hope you're listening to this. This is like, this is some deep stuff. Off the heels of that, can you tell us about your coaching and your 5-day challenge and what you have to offer your clients?
Absolutely.
You spoke a little bit about it, but like, you know, let's dive in there.
With Healing the Trauma, it really is about you deciding to decide to heal you. You healing you is enough to heal your family. So just let that simmer for a second. And let me just explain one more level and layer to the healing work that I do with people. So you have perspective. I'm a relationship expert, not because all of my relationships have gone well, right? It's about knowing how to be me through it all. It's about being unwilling to change who I am so that you don't leave me. It's about being me and the best of me in my relationships no matter what's happening, no matter how somebody's showing up. So I just want to define what we're talking about when we're talking about trauma healing. It's really about healing through your heartbreak so your heart can be open and so you can be the love you are, equipped and available to give and receive love at the highest level. That's what we're talking about when we're talking about healing trauma. And when we're talking about self-healing, we're talking about you stepping out of survival and into your highest wisest self. You creating the healed you in charge of the mission called your life. And I don't think we wake up one day, Beverly, and know who we are. We wake up one day and know we're surviving. So I have so many stories, particularly women, but I've worked with all genders and I've worked with clients from age 4, literally, to 104 in my practice. So it's never too late. I just had a client—
The work is never done.
No, I just had a client hire me at 78 years old this summer. Her husband had just died and she was like, now I can do this work. And that was heartbreaking to me that she thought she had to wait for her husband to pass. But I was so proud of her for reaching out at 78 years old to take on Who do I want to be? Because we don't wake up and know, but we wake up and know this isn't working, right? Something's off. So what I've done with the book, with the 5-day challenge you're mentioning, I have the Reclaim and Rediscover You 5-day challenge where I take you over 5 consecutive days on a journey, 15-minute lessons. That's it. And the reason I think that is important is because it's also a myth that healing has to take a long time. The pain and the guardedness and the heartbreak started in a moment. It can clear in a moment. So I take you on a 5-step journey so that by the time you're done with the challenge, you know what your values are. You know what your vision for your life is. You know how to have a healthy relationship with vulnerability that doesn't terrify you and reactivate all your trauma. You know how to self-validate. You know, when I started my company, nobody told me it was a good idea. I'm a dinosaur. This industry. I started in 2008. My community had no coaches yet. None. I was the first. So I got on the radio, top 40 radio station, and I pitched them and I said, I want to show so I can wake up the community and I can make a splash. And nobody told me it was a good idea. Within 2 weeks being on the radio, I had a 6-month waitlist.
Wow.
Validate. When I beat cancer, I quit chemo. Nobody thought that was a good idea. I would never recommend that to anybody else, but I was muscle testing. The chemo had done its job. There was no more cancer in my blood, and I trusted myself and my guidance and my body and God, and I quit. And I had to know how to self-validate. So in the challenge, I teach you how to self-validate when nobody gets it yet, and they won't get it until they see it. And even once they see it, they might not get it. And that's okay. And then I teach you how to hold the vibration of love no matter what. So the 5-day challenge, it's the best of what I've been doing with literally over 1,000 people have gone through my private practice since 2008. I've been helping people heal since 2002. So I boiled it down for you and said, here's the secret magic sauce. You want to reclaim and rediscover you and reinvent you and your experience of life. We don't have to wait for things to get worse. Just go. It's $47. It's gold. It will change. People have taken this challenge and started companies. People have taken this challenge and then done it again with their spouse and revolutionized their marriages. People have taken on their health, their money, their, you know, wanting this promotion, but they were afraid to go for it because they don't want to risk getting hurt or more heartbroken, and they take the course and they get the promotion. So there's so much here for you if you're interested, and you can just go to rebeccahsilence.com. There are— oh yeah, plenty.
I'll have everything in the show notes. Don't worry, everyone, I promise. Everything will be on Instagram and the show notes.
Yes, I have the Emotional Survival Kit on the website, which is like if you want the heavy-hitting PhD in human behavior and emotional wellness and emotional healing, take the Emotional Survival Kit. So there's so much good for you there, but I can't emphasize enough how deeply I believe in Coming Back to Life, the 5-Day Challenge, and the Emotional Survival Kit. And I really believe with all my heart, if every family had just one person take those 3 programs, everything would be different for the whole family. Not because they're behaving better or different. But because you're the best of you now, no matter what.
Right. Authentically yourself, knowing you are your best.
Yeah. And let that be enough, because it is. Right. Right.
I just want you to— last, you know, major talking point— and wanted to see if you could give some advice to someone who is struggling to identify their purpose or passion in life.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, here's the deal. It is safe to be a passionate, very big personality type of a person. And if you're attracted to Beverly's work, chances are you're passionate and you're a big personality. So what most of us, especially women, are trained to do is dim our light, dumb it down, and we're avoiding being too much more than we're focused on pursuing our passion, and pursuing pleasure. And I wrote Coming Back to Life and created all of these products and my company because I wanted to be someone that turned the trauma conversation on its head. I don't want the trauma conversation to mean less of a life. And I don't want trauma to be a disempowering, I just have to live in spite of this place you find yourself. I think trauma can be used to our advantage. And I don't think there's any trauma that can't be used to our advantage. And so when you know that, you can use your deepest heartbreak to motivate you to be fully expressed and free and fully alive. And again, I think if you're struggling to find your passion again, what makes your soul sing? What brings you alive? And a great assignment I've given countless clients over the years is make a list of the top 10 things that inspire you. My company is called Inspired Results because I want us in spirit, connected to our spirit, no matter what, as we pursue the results that bring us the most joy, that bring us the most alive. But I don't want us focused on achievement and then I get to have passion. I want us focused on alignment so I can experience myself and the fire inside aside as I'm pursuing what I'm wanting to create, right? We want to be in creation. These earrings I just made. I took a little Dremel. I had gone to the beach in Portland with my best friend, found these stones on the beach, put them in a rock tumbler, put some holes through them, put them in earrings. I'm creating.
Gorgeous.
Thank you. I know what I love. I love candles. I love baths. I love music. I love singing. I love jewelry. I love lipstick. I love reading. I love writing. Make a list of the top 10 things that make you feel you, that make you come alive, and give yourself some more of that every day. Right? I love coffee. I love cooking. I love the mountains behind my house. I'm in Boulder, Colorado. I'm just rattling off some examples for me because there's so much we don't give ourselves enough credit and we don't own, but we already know what we love and what we enjoy. And I'm not afraid to be the coach that loves reality dating TV shows, or I'm gonna watch Love Is Blind eventually.
That's right.
Oh yeah, right. Like, I'm not afraid to own it, who I am, what makes my soul sing, and to give myself some of that every day. So at the very least, where you can start is experimenting with what brings you joy, what has you feel alive, makes your soul sing, and really does fuel your passion. But it's about experiencing life, the best of life. And when you've experienced the best of you, you get to experience the best of life. So what are your top 10? These things bring me joy, bring me alive, and I have passion for them. Make that list. And then if you can't do it for you yet, who are you doing it for? I already shared the story getting out of my domestic violence marriage. I didn't have it in me to do that for me, but I had a daughter that I was going to be damned if I kept her in an environment similar to how I grew up. Okay. And I'd already given him a chance to grow with me. And many of you are leaving relationships before you've given the person the opportunity to grow with you. And I see it all the time that the more your passion is turned on, the more you've broken the silence and use your voice and give them an opportunity to show up. Then if you end up leaving, at least you know you tried, right? But in so many cases, people will rise to meet you. And we need people pursuing their passion and their purpose of being free and fully expressed and the love they are fully, more now than ever.
Wow, those are like words to live by right there, you know. As you know, I love to end my podcast with a quote, a mantra, or just words to live by. Rebeccah Silence has been so gracious to say she would read an excerpt from her book, and I'd love if you could do that for us.
I sure will. I'm just thinking about a woman I coached for years that came to me as a housewife. And she'd been married 25 years, had 3 kids, high school education, and wanted to start a gym. And she was so convinced if she did that, she'd have to get divorced. And I just, before I read this passage, want to let you all know, part of what it means to come back to life is to know you can have independence and freedom and family and relationships. And that isn't too much. And it's not either or. So as I read you this passage, I want you to think about, I don't have to give anything up to have my fully expressed and free life. I just have to commit to all of it and then be the best of me as I pursue the life I want. So this is a little love letter to life for all of you. Dear life, Our journey has been fabulous at times and tragic at times, but without you, I would be nothing. With you, I've lived, loved, fallen, risen, and met myself, my purpose, and so many beautiful people. You've brought me family. Together we've created joy. This life is ours for the long game. I will never be alone because we are in every moment together. From this moment forward. I hear you now. I see you now. I respect you now. I honor you now. This life has been magnificent for me only because you've been with me every breath. Every struggle has been worth it. Every choice brought lessons and wisdom. Every moment you continue to teach and guide me. I choose you now. Like you've only always chosen me. Love, Rebeccah.
