Busting Spiritual Myths and Beliefs With Jennifer Norton | Healing Meditation

YouTube conversation (Healing is Possible hot seat) between host Rebeccah Silence and guest healer Jennifer Norton that explores common spiritual myths—especially the belief that something is inherently wrong with us and the pressure to "fix" ourselves or always be in a high-frequency state. They reframe emotional states as transient ("weather"), emphasize an unalterable core/pure frequency (light) within everyone, and encourage allowing feelings rather than denying them. Jennifer leads a guided meditation activating the listener's "pure frequency" and inner light. Closing includes a promotion for a five-day Healing is Possible challenge and guest contact details.

Possible hot seat where we are taking on busting spiritual myths. Especially now. I am seeing so many of my clients in almost a spiritual crisis state. I'm Rebecca Silence, creator of Healing is Possible. And in the Healing is possible hot seat we take on what is in the way of believing that healing is possible and what do we need to do to. To live beyond our limitations. We are meant to thrive. We are meant to live fulfilled and free. I believe that. And every week we go live and we bust some healing blocks. Today I've got special guest Jennifer Norton with me in the hot seat to really take on busting spiritual myths. Jennifer, welcome.
Thank you.
So excited to have you. Yeah, let's just have you take it away. What do you want us to know? What are the spiritual myths that we need to bust through?
Well, I was contemplating what to talk about today this morning. And this idea that we're constantly having to work on ourselves, right. It's like this feeling like there's always something wrong with us. Okay. And I guess even as a, as a healer, it's like sort of my job to look at what's off with somebody. But it's not about me looking at them and thinking, oh, you know, this is wrong, we have to fix it. It's more like what's out of alignment, right? We all know when we're in alignment or out of alignment. But then I think one of the myths that we've been caught up in is, you know, whether you're into healing or just or healer is this idea that there's always something to work on and fix. Like there's something like there's something always perpetually wrong with us, right? And when a lot of people contact me, like they want me to find something wrong with them, they want me to like validate what they think they know, you know, like, oh, I think there's something wrong with me. And it's more about me helping point them back to like the purity of their own being, right. Which is, is constant. There's nothing wrong with us at the purity of our own source, connection in our own setting of who and what we are. So the myth is that and it's, it's an ego based belief. It's, you know, if you want to call it the ego, the small self, the false self, whatever. It's the myth is that there's something wrong with us and we always have to be wary of that and fix that in order to attract or have all the goodies in life. It's like, oh, I didn't get that job promotion. So there's something wrong with me. And it's like, well, maybe it just wasn't a good move for you. But of course your ego is going to have maybe another idea of what it thinks is correct for you. Now it's like, oh, the ego can come up with a whole slew of things that it thinks is correct for you. You know, and it's like, and then we can get into this mode of like feeling like, you know, we have to, I call it do the hokey pokey and turn ourselves around. It's like, now what do we got to do? Right? Yeah. Oh, now if you just do this and that and you, you know, drink this smoothie and you know, say this mantra and focus on these good thoughts, like, oh my God, that's like a whole nother, you know, slave self program right there, right? Like now that's the ego co opting our spiritual stuff and like then creating a whole nother mess. And it's so compelling. It's like, you know, it's so compelling we really buy into it and the idea that if, you know, as long as we're maintaining a high frequency and feeling good, then everything's going to be okay. And so it's almost like we're always trying to find that blissful place. Now I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that either because it feels good to feel good, right? And we want to feel good, but we want to get away from the idea that if we're not feeling good, there's a problem and we have to fix that right away because.
Or I would also just interject or falling into a false belief that because you're not feeling good or if you perceive there is a problem, that it's your fault.
Yeah, right, right.
Because I really believe. And I'd be curious to know your thoughts on this, Jennifer. Nothing's happening. I don't think life is happening for us or to us. I think it's just happening. And then who are we going to be? How are we going to navigate that?
Yeah, yeah, exactly. And it's just that if we're if constantly worrying about whether we're in a high frequency or a low frequency or we are thinking good thoughts or bad thoughts. Like I always look at things in terms of your energy, right? What's a deficit, you know, what's depleting you and what's building you up, right. And if you're constantly worrying about your, your state of being not being the right state like that's going to deplete you. Right? It's exhausting. So it's. It's like, okay, we can notice when we don't feel good. And. And it's like, you want to notice. It's like the weather, oh, today I'm not feeling good. Maybe today you're feeling great. Either way, it doesn't matter because it's just. It's a feeling, it's gonna pass. It's an emotion. It's gonna pass. Where we get caught is when we get caught up in the feeling or the emotion. Like, we have to do something about it. Okay. And so. And of course, there are things we can do to help that mood, especially if it's not a great mood or a feeling shift, which would really be to just sit with it and be with it and not try to fight it. Right? So the more we fight something, the worse we feel. And so coming back to just being okay with everything, even the not so great stuff, that's the. That's kind of the sweet spot. The sweet spot in life. If we can just allow ourselves to be okay being okay with having an illness, being okay with having cancer, even though that's just such a loaded statement. It's so scary.
Well, and I can speak to that directly. I think the being okay with it could be confronting to some people listening. But for me, being pregnant, being diagnosed with cancer, and then literally being told in, I would say, every doctor visit, how the statistical odds were against me really gave me an opportunity to step into just being willing. Like, I'd almost rather use the word willing than okay. Like you're either fighting the wave and it's beating the shit out of you, or you can do some body surfing and ride that. That wave home into the next moment. But the moment you're in is what it is. And it's also like, you know, with little babies, we're not looking hopefully at the baby and going, why are you hungry? You shouldn't be hungry. We're going, oh, the baby's hungry. It's time to eat. Oh, the baby needs a diaper change. Let's change the diaper. Oh, it's time for a nap. Or it's time to get the baby up from a nap. It's like, if we could be that matter of fact and just aware and willing to do the next right step for ourselves, ourselves, how free would we be? Jennifer, I was coaching a young man this morning in his 20s, and this guy is so defeated. And he basically had what I believe to be a super High level of awareness, knowing that these dreams I have, they are not going to actually make me happy. So what is the point? And what I was working with him on was, I agree with you. And I think it is good news when you think it is bad news. Your dreams getting these results, they are not going to make you happier, but. But they are something to pursue so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor and you can get happy. You can get willing to be in the moments you're in, enjoying the ride now. And that's kind of what I'm hearing in a new way as you're sharing with us today. Pursue the dreams. And yeah, they're not going to make you happy, but they are worth it. And then you can be willing now to feel how you want to feel, to live how you want to live.
Yeah, but it's not denying how you feel. Like, so this, the myth that we always have to feel good and to maintain or be positive and happy in order to attract what we desire. That is false. That is just so false. Like, that's an old spiritual kind of truth that got, you know, really hammered by the law of attraction people. Granted, it's nice when we feel good and things seem to be going our way, but we cannot bypass or deny when things don't feel good or aren't going our way. And so instead of focusing on what's wrong with us, it's more about allowing. It's neither accepting nor rejecting. It's like, okay, someone just told me I have cancer. I don't need to accept that. I don't need to reject it. I can allow that that's what's happening. And then I can allow myself to have the experience and the feelings that I have about it. And then when you kind of get on the other side of that, it's like, now what, what actions am I feeling guided to take as a result of this? You know, maybe this is bringing up some old shadow stuff that you do want to help with releasing, right? But instead of focusing on, oh, I have this, these, you know, shadow patterns, I've got to get rid of them. It's more like, well, as long as you're aware of it, that's half the battle. That's like the first. That's a big chunk of it actually on its way out the door. So it's. Everything's kind of shifting us back to the purity of who and what we are, which is pure love. And that pure love frequency is kind of dissipating and dispelling Everything that's unlike love. And there's something right. Actually, as I'm saying that, I'm reminded of something from the Course in Miracles about that love. Well, first of all, love brings up everything other than love for healing. And so as that starts to bubble up, it's like, oh, this is a fearful thought. It's not a loving thought. What can I, you know, accept but not accept, but allow and let go so that it's like you're just sort of uncovering like a dirty car. Right. If your car is dirty, you take it through the car wash. It's like we're just allowing these patterns to present themselves so we're noticing them so they can fall away without getting in there feeling like we've got to fix ourselves, you know, like there's something wrong and we have to take care of it now. Like, that's just the ego taking over. Yeah.
I mean, when the car is dirty, you don't go, oh, it's not dirty.
Right. It's dirty.
I'm either going to wash it or I'm not. It's the same with whatever moment you're in and the feelings and experiences that you're having in whatever moment you're in. And Jennifer, can you, like, break it down as though we were all kindergarteners? What do you mean by we all have a frequency? And how and why is that so important?
Yeah, so imagine like a frequency is like the setting on a radio dial, Right. And everybody has their own setting. And that setting is really rooted in pure love. That doesn't mean that you're going to show up as blissful and peaceful and happy all the time. Pure love can be really intense, actually. We may end up saying things that people don't like, but we're coming from that purity of our being. So the frequency setting is like setting on a radio dial. And then it appears that we accumulate feelings and problems and things that. That can negate that frequency or pull it down. And there are things that we're aware of that pull us down. Right. Like, if we're focusing on all the problems in the world, that's probably going to pull you down, but it's not going to alter the purity of who you and what you are. Right. Like, there's this unalterable part of us. Indestructible. Okay. And then there's the things that we can allow in that we can allow to mess with our head. Literally, it's like just messing with our head. But coming back to your dial on that radio, it's like coming back into that pure frequency that's unalterable, that cannot be changed. No matter what things can happen in your life that can elevate you. And as you purify these patterns, as you dispel or, you know, dissolve patterns that have been holding you back, it can make you feel even better where you're. You're like rising up and you're embodying more of the purity of your own frequency, if that makes sense. Because it's sort of like we've been sort of like we're just wearing, like, layers and layers of clothing, right? And it's like little by little, we're just stripping away what's not us. We're stripping away what's not us. Whether it's a belief or a pattern or a problem or an illness, it's like, okay, that's not who and what we are. It cannot change who and what we are as a frequency. Does that make sense? I love it.
And I think about too, how one of the things I've been saying recently, when it comes to this promise that I'm making to people that I really guarantee and believe in, that healing is possible. We just have to start there. Is the darkness is real, but so is the light. And I'm thinking about, as you're talking, that lightness doesn't go out. And that's what I'm thinking about when you're describing frequency. That light, even if you don't see it, can't feel it, or are even not believing it's there, if you're still here, if you're breathing, if you're alive, if that heart is pumping blood through your veins and you're still waking up in the mornings, then you've got light in you that is the source of your power and is the connection to your internal guidance system and is your natural frequency that can't be altered regardless of the circumstances outside of you. But we don't recognize that, we don't believe that. And so I just want us all to hear the darkness is real and so is the light, and life is happening, and your frequency can't be messed with, right? And then when it feels like it's being messed with, what if you've just disconnected from it?
Yeah.
And what if there really is nothing wrong with you? And even bigger, what if there really is nothing wrong with life, with what happened, with what is happening, with what you're maybe afraid could happen? I think we have an opportunity to live into being the person it takes to live beyond the Limitations that we think are more powerful than we are.
Yeah, that's beautifully said. Yeah. It's like our feelings can come and go, they fluctuate all the time, but it's never going to change who and what we are at the core of our being. That. That light, that indestructible light, and it's. That's the purity of who we are. And as. So as I'm speaking this and we're talking about it, it's switching on in anyone who's listening to this broadcast. Okay. It's. It's automatic because that's what I'm putting out. It's what you're putting out. And anyone who's tuning into this broadcast, it's. They're in training to this frequency that we're putting out. Right. Because the truth is going to trump all the lies that, you know, that people are believing.
Yes. And it's okay if the car gets dirty, Give it a bath. Like it's not the end of the world.
Yeah.
And I love the analogy, too, about kind of shedding the clothes and getting more and more naked. It's counterintuitive. In our society, we don't want to be vulnerable. We don't want to be too naked. But if you're not going to be all of who you are at the highest level, naked, exposing you to the world, giving you to the world, then chances are you're not going to be as happy as you could be as often as you could be. What if we just flip it all on its head?
Yeah. And stop trying to force ourselves to do things, to be happy, you know, or be positive. Because we're. We're trying to elevate ourselves. It's like we can elevate ourselves. We can. You know, being in nature can do that. Or just connecting with someone you love and care about and, you know, just following the things that make you feel good, that those can all help and those are all helpful things and good things. Even, you know, having a healing session or getting a coach, you know, coach's advice. These are helpful things, but we don't want to end up relying on those things or just believing that we have to have those in order to be.
A certain way or approaching that level of support, whatever it is, from a perspective that something's wrong with you. You could be approaching that level of support with the perspective that nothing's wrong and you're ready to get more naked and more alive.
Yeah. Yeah. I love that.
I do, too. I think this is really good. What. What Other guidance. Do you have a meditation for us? What do you want to take us through next, Jennifer?
That's a good question. Let's see. Let me just close my eyes a moment and see what wants to come in. Yeah, let's just all take a moment to just tune into that purity that. The pureness, pure frequency. Imagine you're closing your eyes. Getting aware of your body is the first step. So becoming aware of yourself and how your body feels. And imagine like you're tuning in to yourself like you're a radio station. Maybe right now there's a lot of static playing in the background. So as you just kind of sink in and become more aware of your own presence, in essence just sort of breathing in, you'll notice that frequency. You're going to like tune in to that radio station. It's going to get stronger or more clear and it's going to start to activate. So this is like a frequency activation or helping you really dial in. Tuning into your own self, which is perfect. The purity of who you are is perfect. There's nothing wrong. And helping you to embody more love. Dispelling any myths that there's something wrong or needs to be fixed. And if there's any negative thoughts, feelings or emotions or positive ones, doesn't matter. Just imagine they're like clouds. It's like the weather. They're just rolling through. So just relaxing and allowing yourself to go even deeper into the stillness of who and what you are. And just imagining that anything that is not you is leaving. Maybe it's a thought like, I've got to lose 10 pounds. That's a common thought. I get that one. That's not you just let it go. Or the thought that, you know, I've just got to feel better in order to feel better. Let that go. Or like you've got to manifest something in particular before you can have the thing that you want. Just let that go. And this is really about knowing on a deeper level that you are enough. You have everything you need. Your source connection is constantly providing for you. And the frequency of who and what you are is unalterable. That light. Let that light be present and let it shine and get stronger. And yeah, tuning into the light of who you are and not your perceived darkness. Because what happens to darkness as we come more aware of our light? The darkness just fades away. Beautiful. And I'm feeling and seeing this vision of this pure, beautiful light kind of dispelling all this debris, psychic debris and darkness. And all that's left is just the Light, the pure light. That's the light of who and what we are.
Yeah.
And it's very healing and very grounding. And deep within that is a feeling of peace. So let that feeling of peace just really emanate and permeate your whole being. And when you're ready, you can kind of come back to this moment and open your eyes and be here now shining your light.
