Commitment to Breakthrough Will Save Your Life - Rebeccah Silence, Emotional Healing Coach

Rebeccah Silence, a cancer survivor, argues that choosing emotional breakthrough—moving toward possibility instead of shutting down—can save your life during trauma. She survived stage III melanoma and faced new liver lesions in 2020. Breakthrough isn't erasing pain; it's an ongoing choice to stay open.

About how commitment to breakthrough can actually save your life. And this is so profound and so simple and subtle and doable all at the same time. I am Rebecca Silence, creator of Healing is Possible with your Monday Healing message that commitment to breakthrough can, and I'm going to promise you will, save your life. And what is a breakthrough and what isn't a breakthrough? That's where we're going to start today. So what is a breakthrough is there's an opening. What isn't a breakthrough is there's a closed door. What is a breakthrough is movement. It doesn't mean that the emotional pain, the physical pain, the circumstances, the trauma, whatever it might be, is gone or dealt with or over. And I think that's good news. I have so many people, especially now post pandemic, talking to me about wanting to go back, wanting to go back to the way it was, wanting to go back to, quote, unquote, normal. And we don't get to do that. But what we do get access to and have control over is whether or not we're in emotional breakthrough. That is what we have. We have control over. Are we an emotional breakthrough? Are we committed to connecting to breakthrough even in. In the midst of the hardship? And we have people losing money, jobs, marriages, friends, family members. All through the pandemic, we had politics, we had COVID 19. We've had so much shake us up. And breakthrough is what you've got access to that keeps you in the game and more powerful than all the bullshit. And then I don't think people know enough about what possibilities exist for them when it comes to breakthrough. So that's why we're having conversation today. Right? So I'm a cancer survivor. If you know me, you know that if you're just meeting me, you may not. But I've got my next set of scans. August 13th. My oldest is freaking out because it's Friday the 13th, that I have a whole day of tests at the cancer hospital to make sure that the tumors in my liver aren't cancer, the tumor in my brain isn't cancer, and that there's no active cancer cells that are going to show up on the scan. I am under a microscope 24 7. And August of 2020, we had new lesions pop up in my liver that it looked like might be stage four cancer. They weren't. So we gotta double check, triple check, quadruple check, make sure they haven't changed. I'll be injected with a new contrast that if it's melanoma. The cancer I had was stage Three, melanoma. The contrast will help us identify immediately. Is it cancerous or isn't it? I'm really, really trusting and believing in my healthy body. I don't think it is. And then we never know. And I think that is a great metaphor for life. We don't. I did a podcast episode on the Tougher Together podcast about being blindsided. We don't get to see it all coming, but we do get to control whether or not we are committed to breakthrough, moment to moment. And when we are living in such a way where we need the entire world to be, how we need it to be, for us to be okay, we're totally screwed. Because life's going to happen. And I say this a lot, it's going to go your way. It's not going to go your way. None of that's about you. It's just life. So breakthrough doesn't always feel good. Breakthrough isn't easy. Breakthrough isn't always fun. But what it is, is possible. And it just means you've connected to an opening, even if it's this much, even if it's this big, to possibility beyond what you've been seeing. And it means in really simple terms that you've moved beyond fight, flight, freeze, survival mode. And the nervous system and the brain gets freaked out when we get reminded of or confronted with new triggers, old triggers, fear taking over. And our brain goes into wanting to fight it, wanting to shut down. That's the freeze. That's the most dangerous thing anybody can do emotionally, by the way, is shut it down and freeze. Because that's like the beginning of a slow spiritual death that could actually lead to an actual death. And then there's flight where we just run away, we just get busy, we numb out, we just brush it under the carpet. We'll do anything but face the emotional pain. And that's always the problem. What's always the issue is the emotional experience that you're having, never the circumstance. And I can't emphasize that enough. I go into scans in a couple of weeks. The only problem I will have that day is how I'm going to navigate and outwit, outsmart and outlast and conquer fear. That will be the game. That was the game when I was sick in bed for nine months after having a brand new baby that I couldn't even hold or be with or bond with. The emotional game was emotional and I have mastered breakthrough. It is an art. It is possible. It is never easy, it is never fun. I am not perfect at it, but I have a roadmap, I have steps and I have a commitment to breakthrough that keeps me moving forward, keeps me at least paying attention to accessing the highest version of me. And you've got it in you too. It's like an eighth gear that we all have that we don't know we have. So I'm here today to tell you there is life beyond fight, flight, freeze. There's life beyond survival. There's a highest version of you that has access to breakthrough. Even when you're in breakthrough, it's not always fun or feeling great. But you're moving, you're building momentum and you don't have to go faster than you want to go. But you do get to to know that there is breakthrough available to you no matter what you are facing. And that can help you pick up the pieces. That can help you level up. That can help you weed out the garden called you'd life and plant a new garden. And I want it for you. Find more.
