So that is number one, that is Radiance. And number two, I just, I just found out about it yesterday when I looked in my mailbox. I got that flyer from vcc, the cultural series. Apparently we have a show that we're doing, Confession. We do Confession Tuesday, live Tuesday, October 29th.
Can't wait.
So this is your chance to come and kind of see what, what Rebecca and I do live and in person and you can be as interactive as you want. You can send that, you can sit there and not speak a word. You can, you know, you can communicate and in a way that no one else knows, you could be. What's the word I'm looking for?
Anonymous.
Yeah, yeah, you can do that and.
Or you can submit questions at the door, you can raise your hand and we can just talk one on one. Whatever you want to do.
Yeah, and it's gonna be a good time. So plan on that. It is Tuesday, October 29th and more details coming. But yeah, I found out about that yesterday.
Live. It is officially coming.
Absolutely. So it is Confession Tuesday. Local life coach Rebecca Silence. Here's how we do it. You email in bigpopnykiss.com and we just talk about whatever it is you Want to talk about whether it be a specific issue or something that's just kind of generalized. You were talking about, when you were talking about radiance, you were talking about like self esteem and how to take, you know, how to take compliments. There are lots of people that I end up dealing with on a regular basis that spend so much time worrying about things.
Yeah.
Like, it's almost like a, like a waste of time and energy. The amount of time that they worry about things. It's almost like a, like a forecaster. Is there a way for. There are some quick tips that people can like scale it back a little bit to try to help themselves not get all worked up and not, you know, think 12 steps ahead on. In a negative way.
Yeah. I call it going down the fear based rabbit hole. Yes.
Say that again.
The fear based rabbit hole.
Okay.
We get stuck in there sometimes. Me included. This is a great question. So when I think about worrying, number one, it's always out of love. It's always because I really care about another person or that a situation goes a certain way. That's the first thing. Just to understand the innocence under worry. Because really I think it is from a place of love. But I don't know if this statistic is accurate or not, but I believe it. I've heard that 95% of what you worry about will never happen.
Okay?
So I want you to just consider that for a minute. Everybody who's listening, 95%. 95% of what you worry about will never actually happen. Think about it. Think about how much you worry about and how often it actually manifests the way you think it might. That is scaring you and sending you down the fear based rabbit hole.
Okay?
95% of what you worry about, it ain't gonna happen. So consider the possibility. You always hear me say, focus on what you want, not what you don't want. But when you're worrying, think about where it's a good thing if the bad thing happens.
Okay.
Okay. Think about how I just, I had a fight with my husband last week and I called my coach and she's like, so why is this a good thing, Rebecca? Like what? We just fought in front of my daughter. What do you mean it's a good thing? But really it was a good thing. I thought about the fights I've seen before from my parents. This was nothing like that. I thought about the fact that in my last marriage I got hit. That didn't happen at all. I thought about, you know, why is this good? Well, she's seeing two people who love each other actually work through an issue and stay together and come out the other side stronger. Oh, that's a good thing. So whatever it is that you're worried about, the worst case scenario, think about why. If it did happen, it would be a benefit.
Okay.
Just consider that for a new strategy because it might happen. We're not God or, you know, the person who makes the sunrise and sunset. We're just not that powerful that we can control particular outcomes. So think about if the worst case scenario did happen. Maybe it's a gift. How could it be a gift? What would it teach you? Another thought is to just get that if you are worrying, you are not present right here, right now. You're way off in the future.
You're not enjoying the here and now.
Absolutely. So if you are in the past or if you are in the future, in my experience, you will suffer. You just will. Anytime you're in the past, anytime you're in the future. Byron, Katie does a lot of work on this. You've heard me talk about it before. Past and future. I am not right here, right now. Enjoying the moment is cliche as that sounds, but it's true. I'm missing the experience that I'm in when I'm in the past or the future.
Because you're either rehashing stuff that's already happened or you're worried about what may happen later.
Right, and there's that phrase, cross that bridge when you get to it. Like, what if we all started living our lives that way, that we're prepared. It doesn't mean that you show up to the bridge unprepared. Yeah, but that you're still living your life. Along the way. Again, it comes back to knowing how to trust your yourself in any particular situation. And I think what happens is we get scared of how we're going to react and we want to avoid that because we don't want people to see us in a meltdown or a tantrum. We don't want people to see us running away. We don't know what to do. Well, you've done it before. You'll be okay. So just consider that right here, right now, as an adult, you have things handled. It's the little kid that didn't know how to deal with that's worrying. So you can bring it back to right here, right now.
You're smart.
Thank you.
You're smart.
Thank you. Consider the possibility, though, that what I'm saying is true. Like, just get right here, right now.
Yeah.
You got it handled because you're an adult, Right. It's the times that you're being reminded of from your childhood that get you all derailed and flustered.
Inspired results. Coach.com her name is Rebecca Silence. She is a local life coach. And. And she is available for corporate trainings, corporate seminars, group talks, also individual and family and just couples. And she's there for everything. Yeah. Yeah. Call her maybe.
So here's the homework for this.
Go for it.
So I want you to make a list of the top three things that you worry about the most. Just write them down. What do you worry about? Do you worry about your child going away to college? Do you worry about money? Do you worry about maybe my spouse is cheating on me? Whatever it is that you're worried about, just write it down on paper and let's confront it. Because I think a lot of what happens is this worry. It gets like a bonfire, like gossip, right? It just grows and grows and grows the more you feed it. So if you get it on paper and start challenging these beliefs, just go, well, maybe I could worry less about this. Maybe if this happened. Oh, so my spouse cheats on me. And I thought, that's been going on for a long time. Oh, now I'm not in the dark anymore. That's actually a good thing. Now I'm aware of the truth and I can face it. I can make a decision from an empowered place of whether or not I want to stay.
Right.
Right. So see what I'm doing with that? You can make a list of your top three things that are worrying you, and then let's just start looking at it. Let's just start going, well, right here, right now. Is that a problem? Or if this happened, how would it maybe be a gift to my life? So that's the homework. Good luck with it. Email us. Let us know how it goes.
