Confession Tuesday on Kiss FM
Big Papa and Banna
90791055 Kiss FM. It's Big Papa and banna in the morning. And ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the woman, the myth, the legend, one of the strongest women I know.
Yes. Absolutely.
Rebecca. Silence. Good morning.
Good morning.
So it is a confession Tuesday. This is how we roll. You go to cnykiss.com you click on confession Tuesday, and what you do is you tell us what's going on in your world. Pluses, minuses, whether it be career, whether it be, you know, family stuff, anything.
You seem to be having trouble with.
Absolutely. So hit us up. And Rebecca is a life coach inspiredresultscoach.com and her job is to get you to where you want to be out of life, to get you happy.
That is my job. In any area of your life, she makes you happy. Indeed, sir. Because it's possible to be happy. I mean, even with me right. Right now going through cancer there, regardless of your circumstances, is a way to be empowered and happy. And so any area of your life that you're settling or tolerating doesn't have to be that way.
And look at this smile on her face.
I know.
Smile on her face.
Even though she probably doesn't feel her best today, she's still smiling. She's here.
She's ready to go.
She's always happy. All right, so what I want to talk to you about today is career stuff.
Okay, Great.
When you people get into a rut, career wise, you know, you'll apply for that job, you get that job, you're excited about that job, and you're in the job. Okay?
You're in it.
You're in it, and you're there. A lot of people are scared to make a change, career wise. They're scared to change companies. They're scared to ask for a raise. They're scared to, you know, move forward or even just, you know, tweak what they're doing. What I'm looking for when I want to talk to you about is what is a good way if people are kind of stagnant? Because people. That's what happens. People get into, you know, they get used to things, whether it be a lot of times we're talking about relationship stuff, but people also get stagnant and kind of in a rut and used to what they're used to as far as careers go and their job, and you don't really move forward. You're just kind of there and you're spinning your tires and. And if you're not happy with your Work stuff. A lot of times the personal stuff will get affected too.
Oh, amen to. So what I want everybody to think about with their career is you're never stuck. And there's two different types of people. There are certain types of people that like a comfortable career where they're there for 30 years and put in their time and get their retirement and they're happy to do the same job every day.
That makes them happy.
Right? And then there's another type of person like the three of us here, Brenna and Gary and I, who maybe want a little bit more moving and shaking and not as much of stagnant energy where things are the same.
Moving and shaking makes me happy.
Oh, boy. Follow the tea.
She's on fire this morning.
Guys. I'm happy. Okay, Sorry.
But we all deserve to actually be happy in our career. And so the first thing is to ask yourself, what kind of a person are you? Are you someone who's more entrepreneurial and has that tolerance for risk? Are you someone who wants a stable paycheck, steady job, know what you're doing all the time, go there for 30 years and retire?
I think that the thing with this conversation is there are a lot of people that want to be adventurous and want to take that risk, but are scared.
Absolutely. And so everyone can relate to having fear. Stop them from taking their lives to the next level. And that's always an option, but we don't have to do that. And for me, what I want you to think about is instead of, why me? Right? Like, instead of, why should I get the promotion? I want you to think, why not you? Why not you? If anyone can get this job, why shouldn't it be you? If anyone can have the opportunity, why shouldn't it be you? We all have access to the same things in this life. We all have access to money and health and houses and relationships and whatever it is that you want. But what we end up attracting is what we think we're worth. Even though all of this stuff is available to us, if I don't think I'm worth it, there's no way I'm gonna ever have it. So you to know you're worth getting more, and you have to know, why not you? You are just as qualified and special as anyone else. So I encourage people to go for it, no matter what. I have this kind of no regret philosophy for my own life where if I didn't try, I don't want to be haunted by that for five years or 10 years or 20 years, wondering what would have happened.
So many people play the what if game and they talk themselves out of it. And what they end up doing is not only do they talk themselves out of it, they also play the what if game after the fact because they have the regret of not doing it right.
So I have a game that I want to teach everybody and this will be your homework for this, okay? Because you can stop it.
Normally games are really fun and whatnot, but when Wreck of Silence lays down a game, it's not necessarily the most fun thing.
Hey, you haven't heard it yet. Don't knock it till you try it.
Right?
Let's just hold on here.
Listen, I've had your. Listen, I've taken your physical challenges. I've taken your. I've had your homework hammered down.
They're probably.
He's just saying this isn't Candy Land.
No, yeah, no, this is. This is do not pass go. Do not collect $200. I'm sorry. The game is.
So here's the game. When you're up against that fear, because yes, it is easy to quit. But what are you going to be most proud of? That's what I want you thinking about in five years, in 10 years, what are you going to be proud of? So try this game. When you're up against that fear based wall and you're thinking it's imposs possible to go any farther, I want you to ask yourself this question. What's the worst that could happen? That's question number one. What's the worst that could happen? Identify it. Okay, I just was recently told that I have to have another surgery. I asked myself, okay, what's the worst that could happen here? Because I really don't want to have another surgery. I'm not interested in that. What's the worst that could happen? Okay, I'm out of work for X number of weeks. I'm in bed. I'm already in bed. Like, once you start asking yourself what the worst that can happen is, it really takes out some of the power.
Oh, it absolutely does.
And then the next question is, and then what? So you identify the worst thing that could happen. And then what? Life goes on. And then what? You know, I get to binge watch a new show. And then what? I can read a new book. And then what? Just continuing down this path of then what? Continues to take away all that fear based power that is stopping you. There's nothing you can't survive. It's just a matter of what you're committed to.
You replace. And then what? You replace the what if with and then what?
Exactly. And then keep going down the and then what road as long as you need to until you feel a little bit more secure.
And then?
And then what's the worst that could happen? And then what's the worst that could happen? Go for it. There is a solution to every single obstacle. There is a solution to every single problem. And if you don't go for more, you will never get more. You're in charge of where that self inflicted glass ceiling of possibility is for your life. And I want you to raise it. Raise the bar, raise that ceiling and go for it.
She wants you happy.
I do.
Oh, boy.
