Get The Most Out Of This Holiday Season | Every Week I Prepare You for Life Beyond Survival Mode

A short motivational/healing talk by Rebeccah Silence encouraging viewers to improve their holiday season and life by practicing three core behaviors: love more (express honest caring even when it's risky), live more intentionally (turn up the volume on your life at both micro and macro levels), and give more (offer what you want to receive in relationships and the world). The speaker uses pandemic- and illness-related examples, personal achievements, and concrete micro/macro actions to illustrate each pillar and closes with a call-to-action linking to her website and a free ebook.
Possible with today's healing message that it's your right to get the most out of this holiday season. And I've got three ways that you can go about getting there that maybe you haven't thought of yet or heard before, and maybe you have, but this just might be your gentle nudge and gentle reminder to implement some of what I'm about to say. So I think you know, number one, first and foremost, not just during this holiday season, but always, as cheesy as it might sound, the cure is more love. In the moments where you want to lash out, be more loving. In the moments where you want to shut down, be more loving. In the moments where you want to push someone away and put a wall up, be more loving. And the moments that feel too hard or like you can't be more loving when you're anxious, be more loving. Now, you know, we could go on and on, but now, what do I mean by being more loving? It. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're being quote, unquote, nice. It's just. It's honest, it's caring. It's you opening your heart and being willing to risk, you know, being judged because you put yourself out there and on the line because you care so much. It's really about risking letting people know how much you care. If I could define being loving in the simplest way, it's that to me, loving is about making sure you've taken the risk to let people know how much you care. And when you let people know how much you care, you might feel rejected if they don't take in that love the way you want them to. But that's not the point. The point is for you to be that light and you to be that love and you to spread that goodness and that best of you. There's nothing better than you being as loving as you possibly can be, especially in the hard moments. And that doesn't mean that the world will receive it or get it or even value it, but you knowing at night when your head hits the pillow, that you are as loving as possible. If you're holding grudges, this is the time of year to clean that shit up and be more loving. You know, people are human. They do their best. I don't want anybody taking shit, but I don't want us being less loving than we could be when we have the awareness that love really is the best medicine out there. Love really is the best marriage out there or medicine out there. If your marriage is on the rocks, more love. If you are not getting along with a family member or one of your children or your boss or your coworkers. More love is the answer. And again, that doesn't mean nice and fake and trying to not rock the boat or avoiding conflict. No, sometimes the most loving thing you can do is say, this sucks. We deserve better. Let's please get through this together. Are you willing to go there with me? You know, it's about honesty and really being the best of you. The second thing I want you to think about in terms of what you can do to get the most out of this holiday season is just take the risk to live more. You know, we are in a pandemic still. So I'm not asking you to be unsafe and I'm not asking you to live more by spending all of your money because you know Armageddon might happen. I'm not asking us to be frivolous. I'm asking us to be responsible for. For knowing the difference between where we want to hold back and when. We're all in. So to me, living is all in. Turning the volume all the way up on you, rising to that occasion of being the highest version of yourself and not saying no to things that you really would enjoy or value or appreciate because of fear. Living more is about you leading in the possibility of living life fully. And again, that starts with how loving you're being. But it also comes down to intention. If you want to live more, be more intentional, Period. Be more intentional. Intentionality is the gateway to more life. We go through the motions, we survive. We just do what it takes to not make things worse so much of the time. And I'm here to say that's crazy and unnecessary. Get intentional not about surviving your way through the holiday season, but about living your way through the holiday season. We have enough time until we don't, right? So how are you living? And that includes how are you treating yourself, how are you treating other people? And are you going for it? Or are you waiting to live? And if you're waiting to live, I get it. There are real emotional wounds. It is scary out there, fine. But none of that is more powerful than you. And none of that has the power to have you dimming down your light and ability to live and experience life unless you decide it does. So I'm just going to challenge you to live more by getting more intentional. And really, that happens on two levels, micro and macro. So what do I mean by that? On a micro level, Every moment you could be more intentional about the phone rings. Get intentional about how Do I want this call to go? If I answer, how do I want this to go? If I don't answer, what am I doing instead? With intention. If I don't answer the phone, everything from that micro, you know, how am I going to be in this meeting? What do I want for the team in this meeting? How do I want to be a better leader? With intention in this next meeting? To macro. What is your next big dream? To get the most out of your life. You have to know what you're living for. You have to know what you want and commit to making it happen. And then you get to get what you want, even if you've never seen it done before, even if you don't think you're equipped, you are. And if you see it for yourself as a possibility, I don't care if you think it's realistic or not, freaking go for it. I want you to go for it. You know, this year I was so honored to start the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast. The healing is Possible hot seat kept going. I'm now a guest expert on the Kathy J. Show in Denver News. I got a book deal with a publisher. I'm not saying all this to brag. I was freaking committed and intentional and unwilling for these things not to happen. Now, they happened maybe faster than I expected, but I would have done whatever it took, as long as it took. Same thing with getting through cancer. I don't think I healed the cancer, but I was freaking intentional about every doctor, every treatment, every, you know, time. I heard you need to get your will written because you're going to die. Just set a very clear and committed intention to I'm going to live like I'm going to live. So I want us to get more intentional, to get more life this holiday season and always. And then the third thing that I want us to do to get the most out of this holiday season is really focus on giving in our relationships, you know, when we want someone to give us something and when we feel cheated and gypped or like we're not getting ours, give what it is that you think you should be getting and watch like magic, more connection and more possibility and miracles begin to unfold. You know, we are so focused on, especially when we are drained and depleted, which so many of us are right now still in a global pandemic. I want us to focus on giving, giving our best volunteer work with charities, donate, and then even in the little micro moments, focus on what you think you should be getting and go and give it. And in the biggest, biggest macro levels. Whatever you think should be happening in the world, go give it and give your gifts. We all have gifts, we all have our best and the world needs us to go give it away. Love more, live more, give more and you will get the most out of this holiday season than you possibly can imagine. I guarantee it. I know those are big words but just try it, Try it and prove me wrong that if you love more, live more and give more, things don't go better. All right.
