Possible here with your Monday healing message that how you do anything is how you do every little thing.
And I know in the description I'm yelling at you in all caps, every little thing I am yelling at you.
To understand what I'm saying. And then do you have to do anything with it? No. Do you have to agree with me? Of course not. I just, I want to shake things up a little bit for all of us around, really considering that how we do anything is how we do every little thing. I learned this from my first coach and mentor, Carol Reynolds, saying, how you do anything is how you do everything. And I have just seen it get.
More and more evident that this is true in my own life and my own healing journey and in watching my clients and just people in general. And what I see us doing that I'm going to suggest doesn't work at all is compartmentalization. And what does that mean? Like, my health is working, but my marriage isn't. My career is not working, and my marriage and my health and my relationship with my kids and family is working. I'm going to say yes and no. And what I mean by that is whatever the issue is in the area of your life, where there's the issue, it's there. It's there. And it's a pattern that will hop over into another area of your life at some point if that pattern, emotional wound, belief, thought or story doesn't get addressed. So, for example, if at work I'm feeling bullied or not valued or not appreciated, that experience of being bullied, not valued, not appreciated. It'll show up in money, in a relationship with a spouse or a friend or a family member. It'll follow you. It's just whatever the issues are, they're showing up in one area of your life so you can deal with it, not because that area of your life is the issue. Let me say that again. So the issues that are showing up in any given area of your life, they're showing up in that area of your life so that you can deal with it. And if you don't, they're going to follow you to another area of your life. It's not the compartment that you're putting your issues into that's the problem. Spirituality, health, wellness, finances, the list goes on. It's you've got a pattern that's in your life that's showing up in that area, and you have everything you need, everything you need to heal it, to blow it out and to transform the pattern so it doesn't follow you I used to joke that I don't get sick. I didn't have time to get sick. I don't get sick. I could after running marathons for years, just after maybe not running for a couple of months, decide, and I did this, was going to run the Boilermaker in upstate New York, a 15k race. I had this arrogant, I don't get sick. I basically am superhuman. Way that I was talking to myself, way that I was living, way that I was presenting and then cancer. And it was true. I wasn't getting sick. And then I did. Right. So these patterns will follow, you will confront, you will haunt you until you face, move through and conquer them. And when I'm saying how you do everything is important to look at. What I'm saying is the goal is to actually be more gentle with yourself, not harder. The goal is for you to see. I've talked about this recently. Your best is enough. And let's not think that letting ourself off the hook is actually that effective either, because it isn't. You in your least is your best. You in your best relationship is how you could be everywhere. You showing up the least in relationships just gives you an indicator around where you can up your game and be gentle with yourself. This is complicated and simple all at the same time. But I want us raising the bar because we can. And then I want us to have compassion for where we are and where we've been being enough. But let's not let ourselves off the hook and let's let ourselves surrender into being more and more aware of where we're our best, where we could up our game even more. And only then can we actually be free, in my opinion. And only when you can see your life in the grand perspective, not in little boxes that you're compartmentalizing into, but all of it is all of it can you relax more into your power and into freedom and make even more of a difference for you and for people. And I do believe how you do anything is how you do everything. When I don't want to work out in the morning, I go, well, how I approach this commitment to myself is an indicator of how committed I am to myself and to anything I commit to. So I better do the damn workout. And I don't have to, but I can and I get to and I do. I play a game with myself. Like video cameras are following me around 24 7, watching. What am I going to choose now? It really is living like people are watching. You know, who are you when nobody's watching Pretend like people are watching so that you can up your game. How you do anything. It's how you do everything. You know your strongest relationship. That can be how you show up everywhere. Where you have the highest integrity. That can be how you show up everywhere. Your willingness to face what you know isn't working, either about how you're showing up or how you're living. It affects everything. And you have the courage, you have the strength to start paying more attention to this. And I do want it to be about helping you relax, not about giving you more ammunition to beat yourself up with. I'm sure you already beat yourself up enough. That's not the goal here. The goal is, come on, we need more of the best version of you. And I want you going to sleep at night really proud of how you're living and how you're showing up and knowing it's enough and knowing it's your best because you deserve that.
