How You'll Know It's Time To Grow

Rebeccah Silence, a love and emotional-healing coach, says feeling stuck is a signal you're ready to grow. She walks through a four-question exercise: name the stuck area, describe your ideal situation, find a role model living it, and identify a support person. She challenges the idea that you need a breakdown before a breakthrough.

Hello everyone. Let's have a great show.
Real easy. Well, maybe not easy, but as far as something that everyone has felt at some way, shape, or form, feeling stuck. Feeling like you're in a rut, feeling like you're, you just, you're in molasses, you're in quicksand, you're not sure what to do, how to be. It's just, you, we're stuck. How do we get unstuck?
Yeah. First of all, you are not alone, right? Like so many people out there are feeling stuck right now. All stuck means is you're ready for a growth spurt. Okay, I want you to really think about that. If I'm stuck, how I'm living is too small. My soul, my essence, it's craving more. And I don't want that to mean you go into guilt and shame or anxiety. Nothing's wrong with you for wanting more. It doesn't mean you're not grateful. For what you already have and the success you've built. But if you're stuck, something about how you're living is obviously you settling, and your body is screaming at you, don't settle, you deserve more, and you aren't feeling brave enough to figure out how to move forward beyond that.
And it could be anything. Yeah, it really could be anything in your life. Can you give a couple examples of what people—
and I'm gonna give you— yep, and I'll give you an actual exercise and homework to break through with us here today. So number 1, I want you to get out a piece of paper and a pen, okay? Actually pen to paper. Question 1: What area of my life am I stuck in right now? So it could be money, it could be sex, it could be health-related and how you feel energy-wise, or even where you are weight-wise. You can get super, super specific. It can be in your marriage, it can be in a relationship with one of your children, it could be in a relationship with someone from your family of origin or a friend or a coworker. It could be your position at work, your salary at work. It could be the schedule that you're keeping right now and the hours. I'm so grateful and blessed to be a lifestyle entrepreneur where every part of my life— and I am absolutely telling the truth about this— is 100% on my terms. But the only way that's possible is to get really clear. This feels sticky, this feels icky. I feel stuck because I'm afraid to move forward. I've got to own it, right? So number 1, what's the area of life that you're stuck in? Now, question 2, this is a little bit of a doozy because we are so hardwired to know what we don't want, not to know what we do want. But you have to identify number 2. What's my ideal situation in this area of my life? Okay. So where am I stuck? And then what's my ideal situation here? And you can mess around with AI if you have no idea. Give me ideas. If you'll identify, here's what I don't want any more of, guess at the opposite. This is going to be trial and error, right? Like, I've had so many times where I've thought, okay, this is going to be the magic bullet, and then I get it and I'm like, yeah, this isn't how I thought it was going to feel. This isn't what I wanted. So So pivot, try again. But you've got to identify the ideal situation and scenario for yourself if you're going to move the needle. Because if all you know is this sucks, I'm stuck, but you have no earthly clue where you want to go next, you just stay in Groundhog Day and spin your wheels. And then the third thing is, who do I know that has what I want? Who do I know that has what I want? And maybe you don't know them in person and they're somebody online emulating this thing, but find a role model because I want you to recognize if it's possible at all, it is possible for you, boo. If it is possible at all, it is absolutely possible for you. And then last, fourth question: who is my support person. Who's my support person? I have the Own Your Voice Society membership community. It's $49 a month. It is practically nothing to get me as your coach in that community. So you can DM me, Society, for the details. That's one idea. You can hire me privately for one-on-one work, or find someone, a coach, a therapist, a mentor, I've got a partnership with the Small Business Development Center, the SBDC. It can be anything, but find your butt some support so that you remember on the daily, you are not alone and you deserve to get unstuck like now. What so many people think is that you need breakdown to breakthrough, which is why they wait. Okay, right.
