In this short dialogue, Speaker A expands the common view of love by asserting that love can simultaneously be healthy, healed, and hot. He defines "healed love" as a state where the nervous system is regulated, eliminating fight‑flight‑freeze responses, and emphasizes that this regulation allows love to remain safe, respectful, and emotionally connected. Speaker B reinforces the idea that secure love does not depend on a partner’s behavior but on one’s own self‑security. Together, they argue that love need not sacrifice passion for safety; instead, a regulated internal state enables delight, surprise, and sustained heat in a relationship.
So what does healthy love actually feel like if you have an experience out there, when it's rooted in that safety, respect, and emotional connection.
So I have to say, it isn't just about healthy love. I want you to have healthy love and healed love, but it also gets to stay hot. So many of us think it's, like, one or the other. So if I have a healed love story, then it's gonna be boring. No, it can be healthy, healed, and hot. Yes. And it's safe, again, to open up your heart, so. So you can be delighted and surprised when it comes to love. But healed love just means your nervous system is regulated and there's nothing you can't handle. No more. Fight, flight, freeze, and yes to healthy, hot, healed love.
So a lot of people think secure love is dependent on the other person, but no, it's actually dependent on you being secure with yourself.
Yes. Thank you for bringing this up, because, again, people are people. So I just need to be able to trust myself to keep my heart open. I just finished a women's retreat, and we saved. Literally, we had 20 women there, at least eight to 10 marriages. We open them up to being responsible for saying, I need more. I want more. Will you come with me? It's so scary, but when you're healed, it's sexy, and you can handle whatever the other person's response is. I don't want you giving up on love because this person may or may not want it too, the way you do. But almost always when you go for it and ask for what you want, people want to come with you. It's just scary to admit. I need more. Let's level up. I like the passion.
