Rebeccah Silence was diagnosed with cancer while pregnant and told she had a 5% survival rate and would likely never walk again. Doctors said her spine was damaged and she had drop foot in her right leg. And they told me even if I beat cancer with a 5% chance, I'd end up on disability for the rest of my life because I would never be able to walk again. So I was diagnosed when I was pregnant and ended up having chemo, and then the chemo attacked my spine. And so I ended up with what's called drop foot. The nerves were dying down my right leg, so I couldn't use my right leg. I lost the arch in my right foot altogether and was literally having to drag my foot around. And they told me even if I beat cancer with a 5% chance, I'd end up on disability for the rest of my life because I would never be able to walk again. So let this be your moment where you, you hear someone saying to you, you are not a statistic. And just because a professional acts like you've got a certain fate or destiny because of a diagnosis, you can call bullshit and you can listen to yourself. I am doing yoga every day, able to hike mountains where I live in Boulder, Colorado, completely beat the odds. PRP was a big part of that. I spent a lot of money on it. PRP on my feet and in my back so that I didn't have to do cortisone shots that masked pain and actually had me more injured because I was feeling temporarily better. I wasn't in my body, so I was actually getting more injured. So what PRP is— and Dr. Shahradil will explain this better than me— but they take your blood, put it through a machine, pull out your plasma, and inject your own plasma. The plasma being injected is healing and natural and my body wanting to heal itself. So what else would you say about PRP?
The PRP is basically, I am making medicine. It's not medicine, medicine from your own body. It's your natural healing properties that we're giving to your body where you need it. So draw the blood, just like you said, draw the blood, spun in the machine and separate out platelet-rich plasma, which is called PRP. And that PRP can be injected to your elbow, shoulder, knee, foot, you know, tennis elbow, wherever you need it. Basically, What you are doing is, it's called natural healing, healing by your own body.
