Rebeccah Silence explains how triggers form when neutral events gain meaning tied to childhood wounds. She outlines identifying the triggering event, the age you got stuck, and working with five core emotions and inner-child safety to resolve the pattern.
It's really easy to work on the symptoms versus the root issues, right? And we can have triggers of feeling disrespected, feeling misunderstood, feeling unseen, unheard, unsupported. We can have patterns of being the victim or being the perpetrator or the persecutor or the rescuer in our relationships. And it always, at least in my 20 plus years of experience now working with emotional healing, it always is one moment. The breakdowns, the pain, they start in a moment and they can heal in a moment. So when we can get to what was the event that was neutral, by the way, the event is neutral. A cancer diagnosis is neutral. What I make it mean is what will create suffering or freedom and will either empower me or disempower me. But what was the event? What was the age I got stuck in? And then I teach five emotions in the practice of emotional healing, which I explain in coming back to life. Anger, fear, grief, joy, excitement. What emotions got stuck and what does that inner child need to feel safe enough back to our safety conversation to move through those emotions so that there can be clarity. It's really.
