Rebecca Silence walks you through building a personal support team. List the people close to you, name what role each plays, spot the gaps, and decide if they're actually doing the job. Then take charge of filling those holes.
Hi, I'm Rebecca Silence Inspired results Coach. And today I'd like to talk about creating a support team for yourself. I like to joke that Oprah can't be Oprah without support. The President can't be the President without support. So how can you be the best version of yourself without support? What I'd like everyone to do is make a list of the people closest to you, and then next to their names, write down the job that they have or the role that they have in your life. You may even find that you have job openings. For example, if you're single and you're looking for a romantic partner, or if you have a parent pass away or a parent that isn't able to fill that maternal or paternal role in your life, you might have a vacancy available for those roles as well. But get clear about who you have on your team and what roles are needing to be filled. Then take a look and do an inventory around whether or not the people on your team are doing their job effectively. I'm not ever going to suggest that anyone throw another person away and write them off. But if you've got a best friend, for example, who's highly critical or mean, then I'd wonder why that person is in the role of best friend. Maybe they belong in the role of fun friend, or, you know, the friend that gives you recipes, but maybe not the best friend confidant if they're not able to do that job effectively. So get in charge, get in leadership of who you have on your team, and know you're never alone. There is support available to you all the time. It's just a matter of whether or not you're willing to go out and look for it. Everyone be supportive, ask for support, and have a great week. Thanks so much.
