What Would Happen if You Left Your Heart Open? Let's Love More! Let's Live More!

Rebecca Silence shares a Mother's Day story about the cost of keeping your heart closed. Leaving it open lets more love in, lets you know you loved fully, and shows others how to heal. It takes practice, but it's worth it.

It is Rebecca. Silence, creator of healing is possible with your Monday healing message to leave your heart open. It is so easy when we get confronted or triggered or heartbroken or get our feelings hurt, to want to guard up, to want to put armor quite literally around our hearts. But the problem with that is when you are guarded, you prevent life and love from coming more and more into your experience. And quite honestly, you create toxicity, disease and suffering. Our default is to guard ourselves and to protect ourselves and to be defensive. But it literally, when we do that, has us push love away. So what I'm asking you to consider today is just to flirt with the possibility of letting your guard down and leaving your heart open. And there's a few reasons why I think this is super beneficial to you. Yesterday was Mother's Day. I was so honored to wake up to my dream come true family, My sweet husband, my two awesome kids. And there was plenty of drama. There was plenty of opportunity for family feuding or fighting or guarding of my heart. Other people guarding of their hearts. But my favorite part about my little family is we talk through and have the hard conversations when needed. And we do keep our hearts open more of the time versus less of the time. This isn't a game that any of us can be perfect at. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying to model leaving my heart open, being willing to let love and life in, even if I'm scared or hurting or upset. And I want that for my kids as well. My husband and I, epic fights, everybody. We are not the perfect couple. We have fights and when we do, it's epic. But we leave our hearts open. And I'm so grateful to have a spouse that is willing to leave his heart open. I leave mine open and we get through it together. So here are a few benefits to keeping your heart open. Number one, you quite literally get to let more love and life in to your experience. Who watching this doesn't want to get the most out of your life? I haven't met anybody that doesn't want to get the most out of their life if they're really honest with themselves. Lots of people shut down, lots of people numb out. Lots of people wait to live, but you don't have to do that. And I believe we all want to live while we're here. What we don't want is pain and suffering. And the cure isn't guarding ourselves and going inward and pushing the world out when that's honestly what feels more natural when you're upset than anything else. The cure is to actually open up. It's not going to kill you. It's going to let you live more. It's going to let you love more. And I'm not saying like pretend that everything that's happening is a gift or it's good and you just can't see it yet. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying you can use what's happening in life to let yourself be more of who you are, to let yourself open your heart more so that you can love yourself more in the moment and let more life and experience in. The second thing is I very simply just want you to know that you did love as much as you could in this lifetime. What would that be like? To know no matter what, people are going to come, people are going to go. You have no control over whether or not somebody else pushes you away. But you do have control over whether or not you push other people away. And we do it in really slippery ways. We guard up and maybe we're not pushing the person out of our lives. But when you won't listen, when your heart is guarded, you're not in relationship or with another person because you've checked out. And I'm saying, what would it be like to know no matter what another person did, you left your heart open. You saw the greatness in them, you were willing to love them through whatever's going on. No, I'm not saying tolerate abuse or other people's bad behavior. That's not what I'm saying. Have boundaries, keep yourself safe, don't agree to shit that doesn't make sense for you in your life. But you can have boundaries with your heart open versus having boundaries and pushing people away. Can you tell the difference? I want you to know at the end of the day, when your head hits the pillow, you let love in that day. You kept your heart open. That is like the ultimate fountain of youth in my opinion. And try it, check it out, let me know. And then the third thing I just want you to consider is that the more you're willing to love and lead and be be walking around with your heart open energetically, you are spreading a possibility that will help us all heal. Healing is possible. I do believe that it starts with you. And what if we could, each of us watching today, start to become a catalyst for a new normal where we love more instead of defending loving less. Because honestly, in this society we are willing to love less way too much of the time. I want us willing to love more, especially when it's hard especially when it's hard. Leave your heart open. I know you'll be glad you did eventually. You might not know that yet. I know I'm glad that I leave my heart open when I do, because what happens is I make room for miracles when I do that. When I'm shut down, when I'm guarded, when I'm right about my triggers, when I'm guaranteed in my brain convincing myself that somebody else caused my upset or a situation is the reason why I'm upset. There's not a lot of life happening in that moment because I'm all shut down and funky. And I'm here to tell you it is never the other person that did anything wrong or that made you upset. They're just doing what they do. And then you have an opportunity, based on how you experience what's happening, to do one of two things. Leave your heart open or shut it down. And what I'm suggesting that we focus on today and this week is leaving our hearts open as much as possible. It is not easy, but it is a new habit that you can nurture and cultivate. It is a new muscle that you can build and explore and experiment with more. And when we are building muscles, it doesn't always feel comfortable and sometimes it hurts. But that doesn't mean stop working on developing this muscle. I don't think there is anything to do other than keep our hearts open. And I see people pushing each other away every single day. And that is why I am here with this healing message today. You don't need more time to heal. You don't need more time to be right about your issues. You need to leave your heart open and let yourself love and experience life regardless of what's happening outside of you, regardless of what other people are doing. That's freedom, in my opinion.
