Namaste. I'm Colleen. I'm a New York City based yoga instructor and I wanted to teach you Ujjayi breathing. So, Ujjayi breathing is meant to be done throughout the practice. The purpose of it is to help you direct your prana evenly throughout the body. The other interesting thing is that it helps you to shift your nervous system from fight and flight into rest and digest. So let's figure it out together. So what we want to do first is we want to make sure the crown of the head is balanced directly over the base of the spine. So we'll breathe in together through our nose and exhale together through our mouths twice, just to cleanse the palate and start fresh. So start with me. Breathe in. Exhale. Do that again. Breathe in. Exhale.
