I love coaching the coaches that I have. Give me clarity, then what strategy? How am I going to achieve these goals? Not just going to have to say, great, have goals. Ah, that's just the first step. Now what's the plan? Accountability. The coaches will do what it takes to hold you accountable, especially coach that loves you. And I love my coaches. This is why I love my coaches.
Being able to set a goal and then a punishment and reward for it really holds you accountable. A lot of people don't write their goals down. So for me, being able to write all my goals down and then saying, if I don't get this done, I'm going to get punished really makes me do it.
It was so valuable to have this time set aside because we all know goal setting is something that's important, but it's so hard to actually take the time to do it.
Not only did I set some great goals for the upcoming year and figure out how to prioritize my career and my health, but now I also know how to approach future goal setting and objectives and feel like I can effectively set realistic goals that are going to push me to become a better person, but are also very attainable as well.
I've actually been drawn into your coaching side of the business and I came to one of the sessions and took advantage of one of the free coaching sessions and I was paired up with Haylene. We were working on, you know, what I could do for marketing the hedge fund. We were going through all different ideas and I mentioned that I had started writing a book, but I'd put it down and she said, no, Mark, you have to do this book. I got the book done and it debuted this morning today as the number one best selling book in its category for bonds and the number one new release in corporate finance books. The book is the Reminiscences of a Bond, a guide to investing in corporate debt. What started out as something that was supposed to be just a calling card actually became something even more than that. And so I'm just very excited and thrilled and super happy that I met with the folks at Aruta and that they help inspire me to reach my best potential.
My coaches will not let me get away with these things. They know it's my goal, will set a deadline.
I like the method that he applied to breaking down problems and a very pragmatic way to deal with, you know, the decisions you have to make.
If you really think about it, you're the only person on this planet, in this universe that gets to experience life from Your perspective. And that's a privilege. Most people I talk to when I coach after these events and they're really internal, like the world revolves around them. Nothing's happening to you.
There's.
There's a bigger picture happening. And so in this moment of everybody vocalizing and some people are being quiet and they don't want to use their voice, pay attention. This is too beautiful to miss. And the way that I hear that, even when I get into my head or I'm worrying about something, it snaps me back out to be like, there's a bigger picture here. There's something much greater. And that symphony that we're creating together is all about listening. Because we always know what to do when we listen. It's not about what should I say next or how do I fill in that space. We can always fill in the space with something. But fill. Filling in the space with the right thing happens from listening. And that's what mindfulness is for me as well.
But this is why I love my coaches. They will not let me get away with the things that I want to do. My most important goals for my mission. They won't let me get away. They will hold me accountable. Figure out how to hold me accountable. This is why I went into this business and this is why I love coaching.
