Rich Schefren shows how to boost upsell conversions by applying credit from a customer's previous purchase to their next offer. He uses Jay Abraham and Chet Holmes products as examples of how this small tweak can dramatically increase order value.
The next thing is are your upsells. What I like to do is I like to apply credit forward on a lot of the things I do. If I'm selling something for 50 bucks and then the next upsell is 150, I like to give the person the credit for the 50 they just spent. One of the first products I bought from Jay Abraham was this product that he did with chet Holmes called PEQ. And I bought it for $5,000, the home study kit. So then came out with PE Cubed 2 and they were going to release that for 7,500. But since I had bought PEQ 1 for 5,000, I could get it for just an additional $2,500. So did spent the extra $2,500 and I now got the new course. So that's another way to increase the average order value. Money burns a hole in your pocket and when you leave, if you lose that credit, you're much more likely forced to sell. And one way to do that is to carry forward credit based on what they just purchased to the next thing.
