This is a YouTube video titled "Launches won't build a business" containing a monologue by Rich Schefren recorded in January 2024. Rich discusses the pitfalls of relying solely on product launches for business growth, emphasizing the problems caused by peaks and valleys in customer engagement and the need for a more consistent business model such as automated webinars.
Launches are a bonus. They're not a business. When you build a business that is completely based on launches, that means that all your customers come in a very specific week and then customer service is twiddling their thumbs until the next launch. This having this peak amount of people going through our processes in very condensed periods of time and then long periods of time at nothing. Right. The overreliance on that was catastrophic from a standpoint of the business's growth and, and the business's ability to continually improve customer service. Being crappy at times is obviously when you know when a launch. But there were lots of other issues, how the launch was either the major contributor or at least something that was augmenting it, making it worse, et cetera. Right. That for me was the wake up call that I had to create a business that did not have these peaks and valley, which led me to the automated webinar.
