This is a YouTube video titled "Negotiation advice from an ex-Mafia to entrepreneurs" containing a monologue by a single speaker sharing personal insights and experiences about negotiation tactics, including anecdotes involving business deals and strategy. The content is focused on negotiation skills and life lessons from the speaker's perspective.
Your whole life is a negotiation. I'm married. I negotiate with my wife, my kids, my next door. Now you're negotiating all the times. People ask me all the time about my negotiating skills. You got to know how to read people. You got to have a plan B. You're not always going to win. You got to know what you're going to settle for. Always to try to come out of a negotiation with people saying, okay, it was fair for both of us. And there's sometimes when I had to make people think they won because of their ego. But I knew I got what I wanted in the end. You had to weigh your words very carefully. You had to knew how to outmaneuver somebody. They couldn't let the old timers put you in a trap. I had a deal with Ned Tannen, who was head of Paramount at one time. He said, how much you got? I said, how much you want? He looked at me and he said, for you real? I said, yeah, for real. I said, but on my terms. He said, I need 10 million. I said, you got it. And then I went to jail after that. But I did it. Thank God. I probably would have lost all the money. Probably been a dumb deal, but I knew what Ned wanted at that time.
