This is a YouTube video titled "You should never sell on a sales call and here’s why" featuring Rich Schefren delivering a monologue or presentation on effective sales call strategies, emphasizing consultation over direct selling, recorded in August 2024.
You should never sell on a sales call. Sales calls are not about selling. You want to frame the entire call as a consultation, not as a sales pitch. You see, you are consulting them on their problem, trying to provide the best solution that is a fit for them. You need to lead with that approach. You need to show them that you have their best interest in mind and do it from a sincere place. You are not here to sell them your stuff one way or the other, but actually there to hear them and then help them. So ask them questions like what exactly do you need? How will this solve your problem? What will happen if you don't solve the problem? What else can be done? Truly help them out. Your goal is to give them the confidence that your solution is real and effective and that they can trust you. You don't have to convince them to buy, you have to show them that you care and why your solution is the best fit for their problem. The more your prospect feels heard and understood, the more likely they are going to commit to you.
