A salesperson can't control whether a prospect says yes, but can control finding the right person, picking up the phone, and delivering a solid pitch. Like a farmer who can't control weather but can plant and till, focus on the actions you own. Keep making the calls.
Chapters
The second thing that you control is making initial contact. Do you control if they say yes? To some degree you can if you're good in your scripting, but ultimately no. But you do control the fact that you identify that person as someone that you're interested in, and you do control the fact that you picked up the phone and you called them, right? So we always focus on what we control. The farmer doesn't control rain. The farmer doesn't control hail, doesn't control the future. The farmer controls getting in the tractor, tilling the soil, planting the seed, and doing the things that the farmer controls. You all control certain things. Focus on what you control. And when you focus on what you control, those things expand.
