Investing For Beginners (Where To Invest If You’re Just Starting Out)

Rick Pino’s YouTube video advises beginner investors that the best place to invest is in oneself — skills, education, and mentorship — rather than immediately putting money into stocks, crypto, or other assets. He argues skills compound (sales + marketing + funnels, etc.), shares his own progression from a $5,000 mentorship to building agencies and rapid revenue growth, and cites higher-ticket coaching investments that produced large, fast returns. He frames a $100,000 liquid threshold as a marker that someone has not yet learned the skill of making money, emphasizes mindset (cost of doing vs. not doing), and closes with a promotional CTA inviting viewers to book a strategy session.

And before you know it, you're going to have so many skills that have compounded on top of each other that making money is going to be extremely easy. And then at that point, you'll be able to invest anywhere you want, because now you have a bunch of skills. And, guys, no matter what's going on in the economy, recessions, you know, up economy, down economy, no one can take your skills from you. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm excited to bring you this video. Today, we're going to be talking about investing for beginners, and I'm going to show you the number one mistake that I made. You want to stick around for that? Before we jump in, make sure to like and subscribe. Smash the bell. If you like to see more content like this, guys, let's jump right on. In investing for beginners, I recently had a student come up to me and said, hey, I've got $10,000 cash. Where should I invest this money? I think she was wondering, you know, maybe I should invest in the stock market or in crypto or in this or that. And I told her, the best place to invest, especially as a beginner, is to invest in yourself. I was talking to another student of mine who he was asking me, man, I'm. You know, I've. I've got. I think he had $25,000. I've got about $25,000. Where should I invest this? And, guys, here's the punchline. Until you have $100,000 liquid in a cash account, it really just says that you have not learned the skill of making money yet. And that's completely fine. Every single one of us has been there before. But I'm telling you right now, the best investment you can make in yourself isn't into the stock market. It's not into crypto, it's not into Airbnb, Arbitrage or Amazon, FBA or E Commerce. The best place you can invest in is in yourself. Because here's what happens when you begin to invest in yourself. Maybe like through a mentorship, maybe through a coaching program, a course, something like that. As you begin to build your knowledge and you begin to take action on that knowledge, something incredible happens. Your skills begin to develop. And here's one thing I've learned about skills. Skills compound on top of one another. And the more skills you have, the more compounding these skills become. It's almost like, you know, one skill by itself is worth one, but two skills put together, it's almost like they're worth 10. Here's what I mean, let's say you're really good at sales, right? Maybe you're a salesman, a saleswoman, and you're learning this skill and you've done a bunch of one to one sales, or maybe you've sold online, something like that, and you're getting good at sales to the point to where now you've got a good skill, right? Well, how much more powerful would that be if you actually also learned marketing? Aha. Right. So now if you learn marketing and you get really good at marketing, really good at marketing, and you're putting in the reps now, whenever you bring these two skills together and you become a salesman or a sales woman who also is really good at marketing, man, it's explosive. Of course this, this doesn't really end like what if on top of that you learned how to build funnels online, right? And so now you're a great marketer who's really good at sales and you know how to build funnels. See what I'm saying? They just keep compounding and compounding on top of each other. And what I have found is the best place to invest is into your self development, it's into your education, into your skills. Because the more skills you have, all of a sudden, the easier it gets to make money. Okay, let me tell you about the number one mistake that I made when it came to first investing as a new beginner investor years ago. Okay, so years ago the number one mistake that I made was I didn't invest in myself. I thought it was too expensive. I thought it was too much, you know, like a $500 course, you know, a $97 program, $1,000 course. I was too small minded. I didn't see the value of what I was going to get out of that investment. In fact, I was too concerned with what is it going to cost me if I do this. But that's the wrong mindset. The wrong mindset is to focus on what's it going to cost me if I do this. The right mindset is this, what's it going to cost me if I don't do this? What's it going to cost me if I don't invest in myself. You know, so many people, they are stuck where they're at because they're willing to buy a $50,000 car even though they only make $50,000 a year. They're willing to buy a bunch of junk that they don't need, right? But they're not willing to invest in themselves. They're not willing to, you know, Buy a course or a program or a mentorship. They would rather have a thousand dollar pair of Jordans than to buy that thousand dollar course that they could get another skill to stack into the layer of skills as they're compounding. So the way it started for me and my wife was really interesting. So this is a number of years ago. I was looking at, you know, marketing and I was trying to get into marketing and sales online because I knew, man, I remember looking around, everyone's looking at their phone, right? And I'm like, well, I've got to, gotta do something with marketing and sales. Everyone's already there. So I'm searching around. I started getting hit with ads for a specific mentorship. And this mentorship, it looked really, really cool. The guy was teaching you how to basically create your own business, how to start a marketing agency. And I was like, okay, this is cool. And he had a lot of testimonies and I was looking around, maybe this is something I could learn, maybe this is something I could do. I talked to my wife about it and of course she's like, you should totally go for this. And I'm like, I don't know, it's $5,000, you know, it's kind of a lot. And honestly I was, I was just too small minded all those years ago because I didn't see the potential of the roi, the return on my investment. I was like, again, I was just focused on what's it going to cost me if I do? Instead of not focus on what's it going to cost me if I don't. I'm like wrestling with this choice. Should I buy the mentorship? Should I not? Well, it got to the point where the doors were closing and it's like, okay, it's your last chance. Are you going to jump in and talk to my wife again? She's like, just do this. Like you're going to be happy that you did. The worst part that could come out of this is that you'll learn some new skills to move forward, you know, and you're gonna get new skills. I'm like, yeah, that's true. So I, I kind of swallowed my ego, swallowed my fear. Oh, this is crazy. And I invested the 5,000 bucks to this mentorship program. And I'll be honest with you, the mentorship program was okay. Like the guy was okay. But even with the content being okay, it wasn't even the most fantastic program. I begin to learn and I begin to take massive action. Literally, I would go through one lesson and take Massive action. And then the next lesson and take massive action on what I learned on those lessons. So now something incredible was happening. I went from, man, this is kind of expensive. $5,000. Oh, my gosh. So I just started doing. I just started implementing immediately what I had learned in this program. Before I knew it, I had had my own marketing agency. And it was crazy because now, you know, we had everything established. I'm doing marketing agency work for people. And then month one, we got a number of clients. Month two, month three, month four, by month six, we had had about 30 clients. And six months in, we had already made $1 million. Just shy of a million. It was about 900K. But in one in, sorry, in six months, we had already made a million dollars from one $5,000 investment. And we were so mind blown about this because we were like, this is crazy. How in the world did this happen? We can't believe it, right? So we took a lot of that profit and then we invested into another coaching program, another mentorship, and something crazy happened. Literally, we invested into the next one. And I think the next one was like $25,000 or something like that. And we invested into the next one. We started acquiring more skills, and then before you know it, we had made another million dollars in about three and a half months. And we're like, this is crazy. Oh, my gosh. And then finally we took the profits of all the different things that we were learning, the businesses that we were building. We took even more profits and we invested into a $155,000 coaching program. And most people would think, oh, my gosh, that's like as much as a house. You, like, invested as much of a as a house into yourself. Yes, we did. Because by this point we started seeing the power of investing into ourselves, the power of man mentorship, the power of getting the shortcut in life. Guys, in life, there are no honorary doctrines to, like, become successful. Like, you don't just wake up and all of a sudden we're magically successful. It doesn't work like that. Everyone has to go through kindergarten, everyone has to go to first grade, second grade, third grade, etc, but the way to do the shortcut in life, the way to get on the fast track and in your business, in success with your finances, is mentorship. Back to the story. We had invested $155,000 into this mentorship program. Most people, you know, those people around us who we, we were close with, couple of them thought we were crazy. Like, guys, this is so crazy. You just got Ripped off. What a scam. And we're like, okay, whatever. We invested into the coaching program, guys, within one and a half months, because of what we were able to learn in that mentorship, in that program, we were able to make a million dollars in one day. I know that sounds crazy. Like what? What? Like these numbers are like, what? Because, you know, most people work their whole lives to make a million dollars by the end of their life. And what we learned from our mentors, our skills started compounding on top of each other. We started becoming good at marketing. We started becoming good at sales. We started learning online funnels. We started learning upsells, downsells, automated webinars, you know, email sequences, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We started learning all this stuff, and then now all this basis of skills we had, we learned skills that cost us 155,000. And literally in less than two months, we were able to make a million dollars dollars in a day. Here's the crazy part. Now we have our own coaching programs. Now we have our own mentorships and our students. Just today, one of my students made $126,000 in a single day. Like, that is the power of investing into yourself. He invested, right? About eight weeks ago, he joined one of my programs, invested about $50,000, and we coached him, we mentored him, and now he's made $126,000 today. Like, guys, this is the power of mentorship. This is why instead of, like trying to go out and, you know, invest in this or invest in that, that you have no idea or no clue how it works, right? Instead of like flushing your money down the toilet of the S&P 500 or stock market or crypto or this or that, you should take that money, expand your mindset, and believe in yourself enough that you would be able to invest in yourself. And, guys, I'm not saying it has to be with me. There's a ton of programs, ton of coaches, ton of mentorships. Obviously, do your due diligence, but you want to make sure that you invest in yourself. Because the more you invest in yourself, you've heard it said before, the more you learn, the more you can earn. I also say it like this. The faster you learn, the faster you can earn. So what are you waiting for? You can either take a chance on yourself or you can continue working for someone who took a chance on themselves. The choice is up to you guys. You need to believe in yourself. You need to know that you are worth it. Take any kind of money you have and continue to pour it into yourself, your self development, your skills. And before you know it, you're going to have so many skills that have compounded on top of each other that making money is going to be extremely easy. And then at that point, you'll be able to invest anywhere you want. Because now you have a bunch of skills. And guys, no matter what's going on in the economy, recessions, you know, up economy, down economy, no one can take your skills from you. So when you invest into yourself, you become recession proof.
