Rick Torrison shares his family's story: both his adopted children were born from rape. He argues that circumstances don't define worth, and that reframing your environment and believing in your inherent purpose matters more than where you started.

Another quick story. I don't have enough time for the whole thing. Both of my children are adopted. Both of my children were conceived in violence and rape. And those birth moms chose life. Most powerful young women I've ever met in my life. Such a gift. But the world would say they have no value. The world would say, you could choose something else and we would understand it wasn't planned, so therefore it doesn't have value. Really? My kids, 29 and 25, they have no value. They had no worth, they were not meant to be. Or is there a greater design that says in the design before they were ever placed in a womb? There was something greatness in them, called to a future and a hope. That's what I had to believe. So then my job was to help them reframe their environment, their circumstances, the things of their life. To create a different view and a different vision. Because I believe they were born limitless. They were created for more. Not stuff, not things, not possessions, but influence and impact.
