Single-speaker YouTube sermon (Rick Torrison) reflecting on the contrast between religion and relationship. The speaker claims relationships shape our destinies and trajectories; when encountering another's flaws people either love (relationship) or leave (religion). He advocates unconditional love and acceptance that moves people forward from love rather than law, concluding with an exhortation to shift from religion to relationship.

I was contemplating this question in the challenge between religion and relationship. And here's what I believe. Relationships define our destinies. Relationships are what build our trajectories either towards life or death. The challenge with relationship is, you know, the closer you get in relationship with someone, the more you see the good, the bad and the ugly. And here's what I've learned. When we get to the ugly, we do one of two things. We either love or we leave. If it's about religion, religion than we typically leave. But if it's about relationship then we're going to love. And sometimes it's hard to love through the ugly but that's really to me what my relationship, my faith is all about. This unconditional love and acceptance of who I am, where I am and how I am. Not allowing me to stay there but always compelling me forward from the place of love, not law. It's time to shift out of this idea of religion and shift into the idea of relationship.
