Hey, my friends, it's been a little while since I've done a live in or created for more community, man. The group's growing. It's great to see so many new faces and new people coming in and I appreciate all the posts that a lot of you guys are making and taking time to add value into the group. So thank you for that. Thanks for your commitment to adding value to each other, the commitment to growing yourself. Hey, I wanted to share a thought with you. Here's a question I've got that's kind of hit me recently. Actually just hit me this morning in something I was listening to. Hey, Catherine. Hey, Zach. Good to see you. Is it better to be known or worth knowing? In other words, is life about being known or is life about being worth knowing? Man, that hit me this morning as I was in my prayer time and reading and just kind of digging into this created for more idea, right? This belief that I have that everyone was created for more. More influence and impact, more future and more hope. Zach, man, it's good to see. I'd love to connect with you, Zach, and see how you're doing, man. You know how to get ahold of me. Message me or something. Let's go grab some lunch, man. Want to see what's happening in your life and do a quick catch up. So to be known or worth knowing, I think they're intricately tied together when I thought about this, right? I think we're created in our. Created for more, in our createdness. That there is in us a desire to be known, not in a prideful way, but to be seen, to be recognized, to be loved, to be acknowledged, to be valued. I believe we were created with this legitimate need, legitimate desire within us, within all people. And then life happens and things come on and we get hit and punched in the gut and we respond in different ways and, you know, just. Excuse me, just. The things of our journey begin to impact us, begin to wear on us, begin to be lenses by which we see our potential in our future. But I think in our core, when you strip all of the life that happens away, these legitimate needs to be loved unconditionally, purely not humanistic love, to be valued and seen to be heard. We spend most of our lives seeking to meet those in illegitimate ways through the things of the world, through sex or alcohol or a workaholic perfectionist, whatever it might be. There are ways we seek to meet these legitimate needs, but when we try to meet them illegitimately, that we might be known, right? They're never Satisfying. And it always ends us in this vicious cycle or circle that never gets us to what we desire or what we're longing for. And I thought, you know, I do desire to be known, to be recognized, to be loved, but I want my life. As I look back over my life and I'm approaching 60, and I look back over the things I've done and the places I've been and the people I've impacted. Hey, Liz, it's good to see you this morning, man. I love all the pictures of your family and you guys. I miss you guys over in Pearland. So the question I'm asking today is, is life about being known or being worth knowing? Liz, you're a person worth knowing. I just want you to know that I value you. You're a person who adds value to so many people. And so I thought this. This idea and I wanted to share this with you guys this morning real quickly. This idea of being worth, being worth knowing is my life is how I've lived. Is it worth knowing me? Have I added value to people? The vision of my life is to glorify God and to create pathways of growth for others, right? To help others become all that they were created to be. And that's important to me, right? And so when I look at. Look back on my life, of how I'm living my life, am I making a difference? Am I adding value to people, right? Is their life better because they've known me, or is it just all about me? Because I want to be known, you know? And so there's a tension there. And I just want to encourage all of you that your desire to be known, to be valued, to be loved, to be seen, to be heard, it's okay. Let's legitimate how you seek to fill those needs. That's where things get a little dicey, right? If it's all about you, you're going to find yourself isolated and alone, and it's never enough. But if we live a life of gratitude, we begin to seek life and value outside of ourselves, the impact we can have on other people's lives, Then we become a person worth knowing, right? A person who lifts up, builds up, speaks life over others. A person someone wants to be around, right? Who wants to know. And I think when we posture ourselves that way, I think everything changes. I think possibility, job, career, future, peace, joy, love, healing, all of that is found in that place. And so, my friends, I just wanted to jump in today. This hit me this morning, and I have not jumped in and created for more For a long time. And I wanted to share this with you. You are worth knowing. And it's okay to desire to be known, to be loved, to be valued. But how you seek to fill that void. Blaise Pascal talked about it as a God whole, that we all have this God hole in us, right? With legitimate needs. But we live our lives seeking to fill it in illegitimate ways, which means it's never enough. We're never satisfied, right? And so when we fill it with the one who created it, right? We feel satisfied. We are complete. We live full. So, my friends, live a full life today, right? Go out there and add value. Show gratitude. Love someone today, right? I love it. Thanks, Carlo. I am worth knowing. Yes, you are. I love that. Hashtag. Y' all post that today. I am worth knowing. You are worth knowing. There's value in you. There's greatness in you. And if I can help you pull that out, discover that, reach that, let me know. I'd love to help you with that. So, my friends, God bless you. I'm Rick Torres, and I believe that you were created for more. More influence and impact, more future and more hope your best is yet to come. Not sure what that more is, but if I can help you discover it and walk it out, I would love to. So y' all have a blessed day. Have a great weekend this weekend. Spend some time with family and friends. And Liz, thank you. It's great to see you. Checked in this morning. Love to hear how you're doing. God bless you guys. We'll talk to you soon.
