We allow the noise of the outside world to dictate the value of our inside world and how we respond and listen. You are the master of you. You get to control you. You get to decide what you take in and what you spit out. You are the one that holds the power within you. It isn't found. You need to understand. It isn't found anywhere outside of you. It isn't found in the opinions of man and in the voices of others. It's not found in your parents, whether they're positive or negative influences. It's in your spouse or your children. It's not found in your pastor or your church. How you choose to show up in this world, the man or woman you choose to be, the human you choose to be, and the impact and influence you choose to have on the people and world around you is 100% in your power, authority and control.
Is yours. You're the captain. You're the master. You're the foreman. You're the general. You're the head.
I'm not saying the outside world doesn't impact us, doesn't create emotion and feelings. I'm not saying the things that happen around us and the voices around us don't have a part to play in our energy and. And our emotion and our feelings and our responses. But I think we give them way too much authority. I think we give them way too much power. I think we give them way too much control over our own lives and over how we choose to show up. And so I want to challenge you today and ask you a question. How are you showing up in the midst of the brokenness that's around us, in the midst of the disparity, in the midst of the anger, in the midst of the division and disunity, in the midst of family members at odds with one another? How dogmatic are you going to be and what will you allow it to cost you?
