ROB HERSOV: AI Is Making Workers Richer, The Media Lied

Rob Hersov argues AI creates better jobs, not fewer. Unemployment stays low while salaries rise in AI-augmented fields like radiology. He warns that media fear-mongering and over-regulation could block the productivity gains AI enables.

Hi, it's Rob Hersov here. Here's a topic that really interests me, and I hope it interests you. AI isn't killing jobs. It's actually creating better ones. You've been told AI is coming for your job, but here's the truth. AI isn't replacing humans. It's replacing boredom. From factories to hospitals, from farms to finance, AI is doing the grunt work. Not the great work. And the result? More jobs, better pay, deeper purpose. So let's break this AI kills jobs myth. Unemployment remains near record lows in America, in Europe, and generally in the West, despite this AI boom. And AI tools like XNet diagnose pneumonia faster than radiologists. Yet radiology is now the second highest paid US medical specialty at over $520,000 a year, up nearly 50% since 2016. Since 2005, medical scans are up 60%, not down, and AI's made them cheaper, so doctors order more. The US Department of Energy estimates the AI infrastructure buildout will need 300,000 new engineers for power systems alone. These aren't vibes. These are numbers. And numbers don't care about panic headlines. AI doesn't destroy work. It changes tasks. Every job is a bundle of small activities. When machines handle the repetitive parts, humans level up. And that's a good thing. Radiologists, spend more time advising doctors and patients and less time looking at X-rays. Lawyers focus on strategy and less on paperwork. Marketers move from data entry to storytelling. When tools make things faster and cheaper, we don't do less. We actually do more. We do better. And where's my sports analogy that I love? So this is like rugby with a new fitness coach. Suddenly you can play longer, harder, and smarter with fewer injuries. The players didn't vanish. The team got stronger. So why is there all this hysteria? Because fear sells, and politicians and media love control. The same voices said the printing press would drown us in nonsense, that Excel would kill accountants, that Google would rot our brains. They were all wrong. Each breakthrough multiplied opportunities and birthed entire new industries, publishing, auditing, digital marketing. Great things happened. And the danger today isn't AI. It's paralysis created by fearmongers and institutionalized by lawyers, regulators, bureaucrats, and leftist politicians, strangling innovation with regulation before it lifts our living standards. If the West smothers AI like we did nuclear power and supersonic flight, we'll end up watching other nations like China lead the future. If you remember Proverbs 29:18, where there is no vision, the people perish. So do this now. Educate, for adaptability, not rote learning. Teach kids to use AI, not to fear it. Incentivize startups that fuse human creativity with machine intelligence. That's the perfect combination. And unleash infrastructure jobs, data centers, power grids, fiber networks. Those are the real, like, picks and shovel backbone of AI prosperity. And we need to measure success by job creation in AI adjacent sectors, skills uplift in education and trades, and productivity growth per worker. That's the way to look at it. And if we wanted to have a business analogy, we'd say that if this was a company, AI is a new production line. It doesn't replace the workers. It gives them exoskeletons, smarter tools, Bigger output, higher margins. We love that. AI isn't a threat. It's a force multiplier for human talent. The only real risk is letting fear write the rules. So let's act. Let's back freedom. Let's back competence. And remember, technology doesn't take jobs away from people. It takes limits off people. This is Rob Herzog with The Truth Report. On a topic that really interests me.
