Rob Hersov Vote for the Future

Robert Basil Hersov argues South Africa should vote out the ANC after 30 years, citing 62% youth unemployment, Eskom at 55% capacity, and R1.5 trillion lost to corruption since 2014. He contrasts this with DA-run municipalities that deliver basic services like water and waste collection.

Fellow South Africans, if you're still voting ANC, stop and look around you. The promise that you were sold and the life you are living are not the same country. 30 years on of ANC rule, ask one question: are things working for your family? And here are the receipts. Youth unemployment for ages 15 to 24 sits at 62%, the highest on planet Earth. And these are our children. They're not statistics. Power, electricity should be boring. In 2024, Eskom's fleet averaged below 55% energy availability. Blackouts were the soundtrack to our lives, and in 2025, it improved to around 70%. Better. Yes, but no parent should plan dinner around a grid that might die. What about the rand? The rand has been punished. A decade ago, you needed around R8.50 for a dollar. By October this year, R17.27, which means your savings halved in buying power while you were busy surviving. Thank you, ANC. And the rot behind the rot? ANC corruption. An estimated 1.5 trillion rand bled out of the country from 2014 to 2019 in ANC theft and lost growth. That's a hospital that never opened, a teacher who was never hired, a streetlight that never came back on. Numbers don't lie. The ANC didn't just fail the country. It failed you. The rich are leaving. The poor are trapped. The middle is shrinking. Cader deployment is not empowerment. It is decay with a slogan. I mean, would you hire a drunk driver for your taxi? Then why give your future to people like the ANC who crash the car and blame the road? If nothing changes, your children will inherit darkness, danger, and no jobs. That's not freedom. So what now? You have to choose competence, choose clean books, choose places that work, and make them bigger. Make them across South Africa. So look at municipalities where the basics actually get done. Permits are issued, water's running, dustbins collected, generators humming while the grid is fixed, audits that pass. It's basically mostly DA municipalities. And this isn't ideology, it's delivery. It's actually what you pay for. It's what you expect from government and what you haven't been getting from the ANC. And it's not about race, it's about results. It's about whether your light switch on, and your children switch onto their future. If your vote funds failure, you're paying for your own decline. If your vote funds competence, you're buying your children a chance. It's as simple as that. I'm asking you to do the hardest thing in politics. To admit the truth you already know and act on it. Not for me. For your child trying to make their way in life, trying to find their first job. For your mother waiting in a clinic queue that never moves. For your street that goes dark at 7 PM. Give your child a future they can touch. Give them lights that stay on, water that runs, work that pays, and safety that's there and security that arrives. Choose results over slogans, choose adults over excuses, and choose a council and a cabinet you can fire by name. Elections in South Africa are a performance review. If they delivered, Renew. If they failed, replace. It's your country. Act like the owner. We don't need better speeches. We need better service. Vote for proof, not promises. So do me a favour, share this message, follow The Truth Report, and tell me what you're thinking in the comments. I think it's time to futsack ANC.
